  • 1. INTERIOR BATHROOMS SHALL BE MECHANICALLY VENTILATED TO PROVIDE

    FOUR (4) CHANGES OR AIR PER HOUR, KITCHENETTE AREAS SHALL BE

    MECHANICALLY VENTILATED TO PROVIDE SIX (6) CHANGES OR AIR PER HOUR.

    2. ALL ASPECTS OF MECHANICAL VENTILATION SYSTEMS SHALL COMPLY WITH

    SECTION 37 OF THE M.D.L. AND ALL OTHER APPLICABLE SECTIONS.

    3. A STATEMENT SHALL BE FILED BY THE OWNER THAT STATES THE

    MECHANICALLY VENTILATION SYSTEMS WILL BE OPERATED CONTINUOSLY AT AL

    TIMES DURING THE NORMAL OCCUPANCY OF THE STRUCTURE AS PROVIDED IN

    THE APPLICABLE SECTION OF THE CODE.

    4. BATHROOM DUCTS SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF 20gr. GALVANIZED METAL

    KITCHENETTE DUCTS SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF 18gr. GALVANIZED METAL, ALL

    DUCTS SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF 5" dia. AND BOXED IN AS REQUIRED PER FIRE

    RETARDING EXPLAINED BELOW.

    5. DUCTS SHALL BE SUPPORTED AT EVERY FLOOR AND PER RS 13-1 AND 13-2.

    ALL JOINTS AND ELBOWS SHALL BE TIGHT FITTING AND SCREWED.

    6. FIRE RETIED ALL DUCWORK HAVING A CROSS SECTIONAL ARE OF UNDER

    2SQFT WITH CONSTRUCTION HAVING A FIRE RESISTANCE RATING OF 1 HR

    PLACED AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE

    7. EXACT LOCATION OF THE DUCT RUNS SHALL BE COORDINATED WITH THE

    ARCHITECT IN THE FIELD.

    8. EACH BATHROOM EXHAUST FAN SHALL BE INDIVIDUALLY WIRED TO OPERATE

    WITH THE BATHROOM LIGHT SWITCH. EACH KITCHENETTE EXHAUST FAN SHALL

    BE WIRED AND SWITCHED INDEPENDENTLY.

    MECHANICAL VENTILATION NOTES:

    1. CONTACTOR SHALL CHECK AND VERIFY ALL CONDITIONS AND DIMENTIONS

    AND SHALL REPORT AND DISCREPANCES TO THE ARCHITECT PROR TO

    COMMENCEMENT OF WORK.

    2. CONTRACTORS SHALL OBTAIN ALL REQUIRED AND NECESSARY PERMITS

    FROMM ALL MUNICIPAL AGENCIES HAVING JURISDICTION. NO WORK SHALL

    PROCEED UNLEES PERMIT IS OBTAINED AND DISPLAYED AT OBVIOUS LOCATION

    AT FRONT OF PREMISES.

    3. UPON COMPLETION OF WORK, CONTRACTORS WILL BE RESPONSIBILE FOR

    CALLING FOR INSPECTIONS AND OBTAINING SIGN-OFFS FOR CONSTRUCTION,

    PLUMBING AND ELECTRIC WORK.

    4. CONTRATOR SHALL CARRY WORKMAN'S COMPESATION INSURANCE AND

    DISABILITY BENEFITS AND ALL OTHER INSURANCE PAPERS REQUIRED.

    5. CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLY WITH ALL REQUIREMENTS OF THE NEW YORK

    CITY BUILDING CODE AND ALL OTHER RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE COUNT

    AND STATE AS THEY APPLY TO THIS ALTERATION.

    6. DRAWINGS SHALL BE FOLLOWED AS CLOSELY AS ACTUAL FIELD CONDITIONS

    AND THE WORK OF OTHER TRADES PERMIT, ANY PIPING WIRING OR OTHER

    MATERIALS NOT SPECIFICALLY SHOWN OR SPECIFIED BUT NEEDED TO

    COMPLETE THE WORK SHALL BE DEEMED TO BE PART OF THESE

    SPECIFICATIONS AND SHALL BE FURNISHED AND INSTALLED BY THE

    CONTRACTOR.

    HOUSING MAINTENANCE NOTES:

    1. THE ELECTRIC INSTALLATION AND REPAIRS SHALL BE IN STRICT ACCORDANCE

    WITH THE NEW YORK CITY CODE AND OTHER CODES OR AGENCIES HAVING

    JURIDICTION.

    2. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROCURE RECUIRED PERMITS FOR HIS WORK.

    3. EACH DWELLING UNIT SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH A SEPARATE METER.

    4. ALL EXPOSED WIRING, UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED SHALL BE INSTALLED IN

    EMT CONDUIT. ALL CONCEALED WIRING MAY BE FLEXIBLE METALIC CONDUIT.

    5. SMOKE DETECTORS SHALL BE INSTALLED IN WIRING BEFORE ELECTRICAL

    SWITCHES ARE WIRED INTO LINE.

    ELECTRICAL NOTES:

    1. MECHANICAL AND PLUMBING WORK SHALL BE FILED AS REQUIRED WITH THE

    APPROPRIATE CITY AGENCIES, UPOM COMPLETION WORK, CONTRACTOR SHALL

    ARRANCE FOR AND OBTAIN RELEVANT SIGN-OFF.

    2. ALL MECHANICALL AND PLUMBING WORK SHALL CONFORM TO THE NYC CODE

    AND ALL LOCAL LAWS.

    MECHANICAL & PLUMBING NOTES:

    1. EACH DWELLING UNIT SHALL BE EQUIPPED WITH SMOKE DETECTING DEVICES

    RECEIVING THEIR PRIMARY POWER FROM THE BUILDING WIRING AND THERE

    SHALL BE NO SWITCHES IN THE CIRCUIT OTHER THAN THE OVER CURRENT

    DEVICE PROTECTING THE BRANCH.

    2. NO DEVICE SHALL BE DEEMED TO BE IN COMPLIANCE WITH BUILDING

    DEPARTMENT REQUIREMENTS UNLESS IT IS OF WITHER THE IONIZATION

    CHAMBER OR PHOTOELECTRIC TYPE, SUCH DEVICE SHALL BE IN COMPLIANCE

    WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF REFERENCE STANDARD RS 17-1.

    3. SMOKE DETECTOR SHALL BE LOCATED WITHIN 15'0' OF BEDROOM DOORS.
