• Egyptian writing is thought to have come from the god Thoth who provides all knowledge to Egyptians

1. Papyrus had many uses in ancient Egypt.

2. The flowers decorated shrines to the gods.

3. The roots were used for fuel and to make utensils.

4. Boats, baskets, mats, sandals, rope, and paper were made from the stem.

5. People even ate papyrus.6. It grew year-round and was

harvested in the “drought” or dry season.
