History

What is LOCATION?

Asking: Where did that happen??

EXACT LOCATION: The absolute location of a place (latitude & longitude, address)

RELATIVE LOCATION: Where something is located in relation to something else.

A more detailed description of a location.

PHYSICAL FEATURES: climate, soil, animal life, bodies of water, etc.

HUMAN FEATURES: kinds of houses, means of transportation, ways of earning a living, languages, religions, etc.

Movement of people, goods, & ideas.

People move from place to place to get what they want or need.

What is REGION??An area of the world that has similar characteristics (physical, human, or cultural)

Can be any size!!!

EXAMPLES: Southern Arizona = desert climate Chinatown = same culture, dress, traditions Amish Community = same dress, same religious beliefs, same ways to earn money.
