Safe Work Method Statement

Check equipment Electrocution Cuts and other injuries from blade / cutting wheel
All electrical leads should be intact with no damage to insulation
All outside sheathing properly secured by retaining rings on plugs, no internal wires showing
All adjusting screws should be tight
Prepare the work Slips, trips, sprains and strains
Check work is properly supported and wont slide or move
Check cut will be clear of supports
Check cut off will fall safely or will be supported
Check electric cord will reach along the cut
Check floor is clear of obstructions and debris

Prepare yourself Noise dust inhalation or in eyes falling off‐cuts
PPE as required; eye wear, safety shoes, hearing protection, gloves
Pick up grinder Electrocution Cuts and other injuries from clade / cutting wheel
Lead to be plugged in and power on
Locate electric cord away from work, over right shoulder and away from area to be cut
Position the grinder Slips, trips Place grinder on loose work
Check cut can be completed without repositioning mid work
Make the cut Slips, trips Press trigger – be prepared to counter any kick
Place both hands on designated areas of tool to ensure maximum grip and control
Complete cut Slips, trips, cuts Take finger off trigger as soon as grinder is no longer cutting
Ensure the blade has stopped before resting the grinder
Switch off power to tool, when not in use
