A: Hi, Lucy. How was your trip to Spain?B: It was great. I’m so glad that I went in January.A: Why do you say that?B: It’s because there are some interesting holi-

days and different types of festivals in January.A: Really? Like what?B: Well, there is the Three Kings Day, or El Dia de

Reyes on January the 6th. It’s a lot like our Chil-dren’s Day.

A: I didn’t know they had children’s day in other countries.

B: Me, neither. The children’s parade was fun to watch because the people on the floats would throw presents and candies.

A: Wow, Lucky you! By the way, why do they call it the Three kings Day? Why not just “Children’s Day”?

B: In Spain, the children think that they get presents from the three kings who brought presents to Baby Jesus and not from Santa Claus.

A: Wow! That’s interesting. I think it’s pretty inter-esting to see how two cultures celebrate the same holiday in different ways.
