Lesson 31The Table of Shewbread - I

(Ex. 25:23-30; 31:8; 37:10-16; 40:22-23; Lev. 24:5-9; Heb. 9-2)

Here we will emphasize five areas of teaching:1. Christ the BREAD OF LIFE (Jn. 6:48)2. The BODY OF CHRIST which is ONE BREAD (I Cor. 10-17)3. The COMMUNION TABLE or the LORD’S SUPPER (I Cor. 11:23-30)4. FELLOWSHIP (I Jn. 1:1-4) and the concept of the COVENANT5. The FIVE-FOLD or HAND MINISTRY (Eph. 4:11)

Description and Typology of the Table of Shewbread – Part I:

1. The second article of furniture in the Holy Place was the Table. The Table was placed on the north side opposite the Golden Candlestick.

The Table’s measurements were:a. Length 2 cu. (3 ft.)b. Width 1 cu. (18 in.)c. Height 1 ½ cu. (27 in.)

The number 2 speaks of the two sides of the COVENANT relationship.

Examples of this would be:a. FELLOWSHIP between the Father and the Firstborn Son Jesus.b. Fellowship between Christ the Head and Bodyc. Fellowship among the members of the Body of Christd. Fellowship between husband and wife

The number 1 reveals the UNITY of these various covenant relationships

The number 1 ½ shows that these areas of fellowship are contingent upon the BLOOD of the MERCY-SEAT (also 1 ½ cu. High).

Our fellowship depends upon His mercy.

The size of the table also speaks of LIMITATION.It was large enough to receive all those who qualified yet small enough to exclude those who were unworthy.

(Compare some of the restrictions for eating the bread given in a later lesson)Although ANYONE could reach the Table, its SMALL SIZE shows that FEW have EXPERIENCED real fellowship with God and the saints in the measure that is available in Christ.

2. The Table was made of shittim wood and overlaid with gold.

The wood = HUMAN natureThe gold = DIVINE nature

2

Page 3: 24184137 Tabernacle of Moses II

GIBI Course- Tabernacle of Moses II

The DIVINE Word veiled in HUMAN flesh as seen in Christ the Head and Body (Jn. 6:48-58; Eph. 5:30-31; I Jn. 4:1-3)CHRIST still comes in the flesh of His BODY.The GOLD also shows the HEAVENLY aspect of God’s people and our fellowship (Jn. 6:32-33)

3. The Table had a double crown around the border with a handbreadth between these crowns (handbreadth = 4 ½ to 5 inches).

The crowns for Christ the Head and Body are found in:a. Mt. 27:29 – A crown of HUMILITY (Pr. 15:33)b. Heb. 2:9 – A crown of HONOR

Another thought here is that of the crown of KING and PRIEST (mitre in Ex. 29:6; Lev. 21:12) in the Melchizedek priesthood (Heb. 7).

The border of a HANDbreadth speaks of the FIVE-FOLD or HAND MINISTRY of Eph. 4:11.

(In a later part of this course we will discuss this area in more detail)

Here we will give some GENERAL thoughts on the border and the Five-fold Ministry:

a. The border (HAND) was a WALL of protection around the BREAD (BODY).b. The border was a wall of SEPARATION around the bread (Jn. 17:19; Ezek.

42:15-20)c. The border HELD the bread in its PLACE (a wall of LIMITATION).d. The border around the bread constituted a place of SAFETY (Ps. 91:1).e. The two crowns of the border show that the way to be promoted to the

HONOR of the five-fold ministry is through HUMILITY.(Compare the promotion of Stephen in Acts 6:7 or Joseph in Gen. 37:41)

The border also reveals the SECURITY of the believer in Christ. (Rom 8:34-39) The Word of God (bread) is “forever settled” (Ps. 119:89) and SURE (immovable). The Church is to HOLD forth and EXHIBIT the bread of His Word. (Phil. 2:16)

Lesson 32The Table of Shewbread - II

Description and Typology of the Table of Shewbread – Part II:

4. The Table had:a. Four rings (one in each corner)b. Four cornersc. Four feet (legs)

The four rings reveal several different thoughts:

a. There is UNIVERSAL, WORLD-WIDE movement to the Table and its truths. The GOLD shows that this MOVE of the Lord is of DIVINE origin.

b. The rings were near the border (HAND). It is the ministry of Eph. 4:11 that gives MOVEMENT and DIRECTION to the bread (BODY).

The four corners also reveal several different thoughts:

a. They emphasize the WORLD-WIDE aspect of the Table. There is UNIVERSAL fellowship and provision in relation to Christ and the Body.

b. Jesus has a WORLDWIDE ministry of feeding His people as the Bread of Life. The saints should carry the BREAD (WORD) with them WHEREVER they go. (Compare Mt. 28:18-20; Mk. 16:15-20; Acts 1:8)

c. There is a UNIVERSAL order of the bread under the protection of the ministry of Eph. 4:11.

The four feet or legs reveal:

a. There is a WORLD-WIDE move where we are WALKING in the truths of the Table.b. There is a UNIVERSAL upholding of the bread (Word) (Jn. 12:32; I Tim. 3:15).

The Bible also reveals FOUR descriptions of God:(1) LIGHT (I Jn. 1:5)(2) LOVE (I Jn. 4:16)(3) SPIRIT (Jn. 4:24)(4) CONSUMING FIRE (Heb. 12:29)

5. The Table had two staves made of shittim wood and overlaid with gold.

The wood and gold of the two staves again reveal the HUMAN and DIVINE nature of Christ the Head and Body.

The staves kept the Table in BALANCE:a. A BALANCED bread (Word)b. A BALANCED fellowshipc. A BALANCE in the plural ministry of the HAND (Eph. 4:11)

4

Page 5: 24184137 Tabernacle of Moses II

GIBI Course- Tabernacle of Moses II

Also emphasized here is the movement of the Table. Compare the pilgrimage of Heb. 11:9-13; 13:14; I Pet. 2:11)

We are MOVING closer and closer to the time when we shall DWELL in the land of Canaan (the Kingdom realm; the promise of the FULLNESS of God).

As we move with the Table, the Revelation of the bread (Word) in increasing and the quality and depth of our FELLOWSHIP is growing and maturing.

Lesson 33The Table of Shewbread – III

Description and Typology of the Table of Shewbread – Part III:

6. Certain UTENSILS or VESSELS lay in the border of a handbreadth. (Ex. 25:29)

These various vessels speak of various aspects of function of the HAND ministry of Eph. 4:11:

a. DISHES:1) PLACEMENT of the bread2) SETTING the bread in ORDER3) The handling of the fine flour of the Word4) The TIMING of putting the bread into the furnace of affliction and then out of

the oven and onto the Table for FOOD

b. SPOONS:For FEEDING:

12 spoons (Num. 7) = DIVINE ORDER and GOVERNMENTFor the frankincense:

Putting it on the bread speaks of CONFIRMATION. (Acts 14:21-23)(See thought of ACCEPTANCE in regard to the frankincense below)

Also linked the ministry of the Table and the Golden Altar (prayer and praise)The frankincense also shows the LONELINESS involved in the MINISTRY, for the tree from which it was taken was PIERCED during the NIGHT and would flow out during the DARK HOURS (Gethsemane)

c. COVERS AND BOWLS (CUPS):The DRINK OFFERING of the OUTPOURED WINE point to the ministry of the LORD’S SUPPER.

The five-fold ministry is willing to pour out their lives for the Body. (Phil. 2:17; I Jn. 3:16)

Also note the ministry of JOY involved here (Ps. 104:15; Zech. 10:7)

7. On the march the Table was wrapped in a blue cloth, the utensils and the bread were wrapped in scarlet cloth, and then there was a final covering of badger skins. (Num. 4:7-8)

The BLUE cloth reveals:a. HEAVENLY fellowshipb. The BREAD from HEAVEN (Jn 6:32-33; I Cor. 15:47)c. The HOLY SPIRIT who rests upon Christ the Head and Body. (Lk. 4:18)

The SCARLET speaks of the BLOOD of Christ which again is the BASIS for all fellowship and the SUFFERING involved in opening the spirit to others in real fellowship and commitment.

6

Page 7: 24184137 Tabernacle of Moses II

GIBI Course- Tabernacle of Moses II

The final covering of the BADGER SKINS speaks of:a. The divine covering of PROTECTION of the bread (in all aspects)b. The fact that the many truths connected to the Table of Shewbread have no beauty,

appeal, or attraction to the natural man and the realm of the five natural senses.

Lesson 34The Table of Shewbread – IV

The Table – Part I:(The Hebrew word for the table means “TO SEND” – compare the word for APOSTLE).

1. The Table had several names:

The Table of Shewbread Ex. 25:30 Emphasizing the breadThe Table of Shittim Wood Ex. 25:23; 37:10 Word made fleshThe Pure Table Lev. 24:6 Holy; Must be clean to partakeThe Table Ex. 39:36; 40:4, 22 ONE bread or ONE bodyThe Table of Gold I Kg. 7:48 Emphasizing the divine nature

2. The Table had several different aspects:

a. It was a TABLE OF SALVATION:1) Compare the wedding feast (Is. 55:1-3; Mt. 22:1-14; Lk. 14:15-24)2) An INVITATION is extended to those who will come3) Only Christ the Bread can satisfy, nourish, and deliver

b. It was a TABLE OF PROVISION:1) ALL THINGS are on the Table (Song 1:12 with I Kg. 2:22-27; Mt.

6:11; Phil. 4:19)2) DIVINE HEALING is the CHILDREN’S BREAD (Mk. 7:24-30) One

crumb brought deliverance and we have the WHOLE LOAF

c. Is was a TABLE OF COMMUNION AND FELLOWSHIP:1) It is here that we have fellowship with the Lord (Ruth 2:14) and with

one another (I Jn. 1:1-4) in the COVENANT relationship.2) Note the difference between the MANNA and the SHEWBREAD:

a) MANNA – Life GIVEN (Jn. 6:32-33)b) SHEWBREAD – Life SUSTAINED (Josh. 5:12; Jn. 6:63; Rom.

5:10)3) NOTE the brief study on the LORD’S SUPPER below

d. In Solomon’s Temple there were TEN additional tables in addition to the main table. (II Chr. 4:8, 19; I Chr. 28:16) : (10 X 12 = 120)1) The number ten reveals the responsibilities involved in the various

areas of truth seen in the Table.2) Note the increase of fellowship and provision as God moved from tent

(Tabernacle of Moses) to tent (Solomon’s Temple). (I Chr. 17:5)3) Tables made of SILVER emphasize redemption through the blood

which is the basis of our fellowship and provision (BLOOD Covenant).

8

Page 9: 24184137 Tabernacle of Moses II

GIBI Course- Tabernacle of Moses II

e. There was a Table in Ezekiel’s Temple (Ezek. 41:22; 44:16):1) Called an “altar” – Stressing the SACRIFICE involved2) For the Zodok (or Melchizedek) priesthood (Ezek. 44:14-31)

A Brief Outlined Study of the Lord’s Supper:

1. Old Testament types of the Lord’s Supper:a. Melchizedek ministering to Abraham (Gen. 14:18)b. The FLESH and BLOOD of the Passover Lamb (Ex. 12:1-14c. The BREAD and WINE of the Table of Shewbreadd. Boaz ministering to Ruth at mealtime (Ruth 2:14)

2. Instituted by the Lord Jesus Christ:a. Mt. 25:17-30b. Mk. 14:12-26c. Lk. 22:7-30d. Jn. 13:1-30

3. Practiced by the early Church:a. Acts 2:42b. Acts 20:7, 11

4. Paul’s teaching in I Corinthians 11:23-32 for the Lord’s Supper:a. Verse 23: The REVELATION of the Table of the Lordb. Verse 24: The MEMORIAL of the Table of Christ’s finished workc. Verse 25: Observed the Table of the Lord OFTENd. Verse 26: The lifestyle of the saints proclaims His death as we lay down our lives for

one another in Covenant relationshipe. Verse 27: The Table of the Lord can be abusedf. Verse 28: The Table of the Lord demands self examination (Laver)g. Verse 29: We must DISCERN THE BODY OF THE LORD in two ways:

1) The WORD was made FLESH, and the FLESH was made STRIPED, and by His STRIPES we are HEALED (Is. 53:5; I Pet. 2:24)

The Lord comes to meet with us at His Table and this is a time when He especially desires to bring healing. This is something that we must understand (discern).

2) The BODY is also CHRIST (Mt. 25:40; I Cor. 10:17; 12:12; Acts 9:4 [Paul was persecuting the CHURCH]; Pr. 19:17)

We must discern that anything said or done unto the Body of Christ is done unto the Head. Thus, we could come to the Table with broken relationships and partake in ignorance resulting in condemnation.

h. Verse 30: To partake of the Table in ignorance and unworthiness can result in sickness and death.1) To partake of the Table in understanding and worthiness can result in healing

and life.i. Verses 31-32: The Table requires DISCIPLINE.

9

Page 10: 24184137 Tabernacle of Moses II

GIBI Course- Tabernacle of Moses II

5. Other points to consider concerning the Lord’s Supper:a. Note the SIMPLICITY of the Table – Avoid extrasb. The Lord’s Supper is primarily a LOVE feast (to God and the brethren)c. Water Baptism is the INITIATION into the New Covenant

The Lord’s Supper is the RENEWAL of the New Covenantd. The Scripture frequently pictures the Lord TEACHING at the Tablee. There is an abundance of PRAISE at the Table (I Cor. 10:16) (I Chr. 9:27, 32-33)f. Christ is REVEALED at the Table (Lk. 24:35)

10

Lesson 35The Table of Shewbread – V

A Brief Outlined Study of the Concept of the Covenant:

1. The Bible is a Covenant book:a. Testament means Covenant – The Old Covenant and the New Covenantb. The Bible reveals the Covenant relationship from cover to cover

2. There are many Bible examples of the Covenant relationship:a. ALL the covenants flow from the Covenant made between the Father and His Son

Jesus (Heb. 7:11-22; 13:20)b. God covenanted with:

1) Adam (Gen. 2:16-17)2) Noah (Gen. 8:16; 9:8-17)3) Abraham (Gen. 12:1-3)4) Israel at Horeb (Deut. 5:2-3)5) David (II Sam. 7)

c. The New Testament is the New Covenant ratified at Calvary through the BLOOD of God’s Son – The Church is a Covenant community

3. The Covenant DEFINED:a. Old Testament – The Hebrew word “birith” – “ TO CUT”b. New Testament – The creek word “diatheke” = “testament or will; the imposition of

the WILL of a superior upon an inferior”(God has made an inroad to man on His terms. Man can accept or reject those terms, but man cannot altar God’s DECLARED WILL)

c. Words that convey the concept of the covenant:1) Agreement2) Contract3) Pact4) Alliance5) Bond6) Disposition7) Treaty8) Testament

d. The Covenant concept always involves THE SHEDDING OF BLOOD

4. Examples of the Covenant concept:a. To cut a covenant as in Gen. 15:8-18:

Two parties would walk down a bloody path between the pieces of the sacrifice. And may it happen to them as to the bloody pieces if they prove disloyal (Gen. 31:44-49)

b. To eat a covenant meal together (the peace offering of Lev. 3)c. To cut each other’s wrist and place wrist to wrist, symbolizing life for life (Compare

Lev. 17:11)d. To take a glass of wine and each spill his blood into it; then each would drink

11

Page 12: 24184137 Tabernacle of Moses II

GIBI Course- Tabernacle of Moses II

5. Examples of how the covenant was ratified and put into effect:a. By giving the hand (Ez. 10:19; Lam. 5:6; Ezek. 17:18)b. By loosing the show (Ruth 4:7-11)c. By writing the sealing (Neh. 9:38; Jer. 32:10-12)d. By giving presents (Gen. 21:27-30; I Sam. 18:3-4)e. By making a feast (Gen. 26:30)f. By a monument (Gen. 31:45-53)g. By salting (Lev. 2:13; Num. 18:19; II Chr. 13:5)h. By sacrifice and blood shedding (Gen. 15:9-17; Jer. 34:18-19)i. By an oath (Gen. 22:16; 26:3; 50:24; Ps. 89:35; 105:9; Heb. 6:13-18)

6. Reasons for the Covenant relations (God and man OR man and man):a. LOVE AND DEVOTION – The example of marriageb. PROTECTION – The strong becomes the strength of the weakc. EQUALITY – All that we have is God’s; all that God has is oursd. STEWARDSHIP – God has access to all that we have in the Natural; We have access

to all that God has in the SUPERNATURAL

7. Points to remember concerning the Covenant principle:a. It is binding and permanent (Ps. 89:30-37) – a serious commitmentb. It is vertical (TO GOD) and horizontal (TO MAN) – the CROSSc. The Lord’s Supper is the CELEBRATION of the Covenant that Jesus cut for us and

the MEMORIAL of our relationship with Him and the brethrend. We are in Covenant relationship to ALL brethren but are KNIT to only some (I Sam.

18:1-4):We cannot belong to THE Body without being part of a local body. (Many try to be anonymous – it’s more convenient to “do your own thing” but God want EVERY Christian in a LOCAL CHURCH)

e. Although an example of the covenant is a contract in writing, be careful of a cold, formal, “business like” relationship in Christianity.

f. Once we know our rights as heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, (Rom. 8:17) then we can get BOLD with God.

g. The many membered Body of Christ is RESPONSIBLE for each other. We are learning to share our strengths and our weaknesses.

h. The Covenant principle hinges upon RESPONSE. The key is OBEDIENCE. When man walks in FULL obedience, he will walk in FULL Covenant blessing.

12

Lesson 36The Table of Shewbread – VI The Bread – Part I:

1. Its NAMES:a. “SHEWBREAD” (Ex. 25:30). Christ the Bread SHEWED Himself to His disciples

(Mt. 16:21) and came to DECLARE the REVELATION of the Father (Jn. 1:18) We the Church are to EXHIBIT the life, death, resurrection, and coming again of Jesus (1 Cor. 11:26)

b. “Bread of the FACE(S)” (Hebrew of “shewbread”) – II Cor. 4:6; Rev. 22:4c. “PRESENCE Bread” (In Hebrew). The Lord meets with us at the Table of

Communion. We are in His Presence.d. “Bread of ORDER” (In Hebrew). There is order at the Table of the Lord (II Chr.

13:11; I Cor. 11:34). There is order in the Body of Christ as exampled by the ministry of Eph. 4:11.

e. “CONTINUAL Bread” (Num. 4:7). Jesus is our DAILY Bread (Mt. 6:11). The Bread of His Body is constantly RENEWED.

f. “Bread of GOD” (Lev. 21:21). The Father feasts upon the fellowship of Jesus and the brethren (Rom. 8:29).

2. Its SIGNIFICANCE:a. Jesus Christ the BREAD OF LIFE (Jn. 6:1-7; Mk, 1:11; 9:7)b. The Body of Christ as ONE BREAD (I Cor. 10:17; I Cor. 5:1-8)c. The CHILDREN’S BREAD (Mk. 7:27) – DIVINE HEALING and healthd. The TWELVE TRIBES of Israel in Moses’ day (12 loaves). Each tribe was

represented. ALL were continually before the Lord. The loaves were the SAME. They represented 3 million people remembered before the Lord.

3. The NATURE of the loaves (including thoughts on the MEAL OFFERING):a. There were TWELVE loaves (Lev. 24:5) – Divine GOVERNMENT

Jesus the Head FED the bread through the twelve apostles (Mt. 14:15-21):We the Church are feeding on the Word of Christ given through the apostolic ministry of the early Church and the PRESENT DAY.

b. “CAKES” in Hebrew were “PIERCED CAKES” (for quick and thorough baking) – The piercing of Christ the Head and Body (Zech. 12:10; Lk. 2:35)

Jewish scholars say the cakes were anointed in CROSS shape.c. TWO-TENTH deals of flour were in each cake (Lev. 23:5) – DOUBLE PORTIONd. There were TWO rows with SIX cakes in each row.

TWO shows the WITNESS of Christ the Head and Body as Bread.SIX shows the Word veiled in the flesh and blood of MAN. (There were probably two PILES of six.)

e. They were a MEMORIAL (Lk, 22:19-10) – Of Christ’s finished work.f. FINE FLOUR was a main ingredient (Lev. 24:5):

This speaks of:1) Christ the Head and Body being well sifted through trials resulting in:

a) Balance

13

Page 14: 24184137 Tabernacle of Moses II

GIBI Course- Tabernacle of Moses II

b) Evennessc) Consistency

2) A balance of the WORD in diet3) The BEST flour (Christ and the FIRSTFRUITS – Rev. 14:1-5)

g. THE MEAL OFFERING:1) Two primary ingredients in BALANCE: (Pr. 10:21; I Kg. 17:8-16)

a) FINE FLOUR – the WORDb) OIL – The SPIRIT of God (Lev. 2:1, 4)

2) Other ingredients:a) FRANKINCENSE (Lev. 24:7) See next lessonb) SALT (Lev. 2:13) PURE, INCORRUPTIBLE Bread. The

COVENANT3) Two substances were excluded:

a) LEAVEN (Lev. 2:11) CORRUPTION or TRADITION (I Cor. 5:7-8; Mt. 16:6)SOURdoughYeast SWELLS the bread (PRIDE)Flat, LOWLY loavesThe SINLESSNESS of Christ (Heb. 7:26)

b) HONEY (Lev. 2:11)NATURAL sweetness of HUMAN personality

4) Note the PREPARATION of the Meal Offering:a) Seed is sown in the ground (Gal. 3:13; Jn. 12:24)b) Sprang up, cut down, crushed, bruised (Is. 28:28; 53:1-12)c) Passed through a sieve (broken, tested, proven) (Is. 52:14)d) Crushed in the millstone (lost its IDENTITY – Phil. 2:7)e) Kneaded and shaped by the baker (Jer. 18:1-4)f) Placed into the oven of affliction (Dan. 3:1-30)g) Baked with FIRE (Mt. 3:11; Lk. 3:16; Heb. 9:14; 12:29)h) Placed on the Table (Ps. 68:6; I Cor. 12:28)i) Consumed as nourishment for others (Jn. 6:48; I Cor. 10:17)

14

Page 15: 24184137 Tabernacle of Moses II

GIBI Course- Tabernacle of Moses II

Lesson 37The Table of Shewbread – VII

The Bread – Part II:

4. Its FRAGRANCE (Bread was covered with finely powdered FRANKINCENSE – Lev. 24:7)a. Covered for SEVEN days:

Priests entered and ate on the SABBATH. We REST in the FINISHED work of Christ. (Jn. 19:30; Mt, 11:28-30; Lev. 24:8)

b. The frankincense was placed on the GOLDEN ALTAR. Kindled by the fire, the frankincense gave forth a sweet ODOR and PERFUME that filled the Holy Place as the priests ate the bread.

c. The Hebrew word for “FRANKINCENSE” – “to be WHITE” (PURE in Ex. 30:34)d. The FRANKINCENSE emphasizes two areas:

1) PRAYER, PRAISE, WORSHIP – of Christ the Head and Body (Mt. 2:11; Song. 4:6, 12-16; Ps. 141:2)

2) ACCEPTANCE:a) God ACCEPTED the offering of His Son (Eph. 5:2)b) God ACCEPTED the worship of the priests as they ate the bread (II

Cor. 2:15; I Pet. 2:1-10; Heb. 13:15)c) The Church is ACCEPTED to the Beloved (Eph. 1:6) (NOTE –

Frankincense also had MEDICINAL qualities).e. The frankincense was exclusively for God (“ALL” in Lev. 2:2) Every word, thought,

deed of Christ was a fragrance to God (Deut. 33:10)f. The loaves WAITED and rested (silent; never moving) in the Presence of God until

the ACCEPTABLE TIME for consumption (Rom. 12:6-8)

5. Its RENEWAL (“continual bread” of Num. 4:7)a. The priests substituted NEW LOAVES for old each Sabbath in conjunction with the

CHANGE of priests.b. The NEW Testament (Covenant) brought a NEW Bread and a NEW Priesthood (I

Sam. 1 – 3; Heb. 7:1-28). Christ is the EVERLASTING Bread.c. God is continually giving us FRESH bread for THIS DAY of Visitation.

6. Its CONSUMPTION:a. Involved a COVENANT relationship. (Lev. 24:8; Mt. 26:26-28; Heb. 13:20)b. Eaten ONLY by PRIESTS. (Lev. 24:9; I Sam. 21:1-6; Mt. 12:4; I Pet. 2:9)c. Priests had to WASH at the LAVER first. (Lk. 1:35; I Cor. 11:23-34)d. Eaten in the HOLY PLACE. (20 x 10 x 10 – 2000 year CHURCH AGE)e. Eaten in the LIGHT of the Candlestick (Word; Apostles’ Doctrine)f. Drink Offering of WINE with the Bread (Jn. 6:53; I Cor. 11:23-30)g. RESTRICTIONS: (Lev. 21:17-23; 22:3-7; I Cor. 11:38; Lev. 22:10)

1) Stranger – Only for priests or believers (Eph. 2:11)2) Sojourner of the priest – Comes and goes; no covering.3) Hired servant – Salvation by works (Lk. 10:38-42)

15

NOTE: To balance this, the LAME could eat without being defiled. Some may have an UNSTEADY WALK because of damage done by their “NURSE” (Lev. 21:22; I Th. 5:14; Mephilbosheth of II Sam. 4:4; 9:7)

16

Lesson 38The Table of Shewbread – VIII

Partaking of Christ:(Jn. 6; I Cor. 10-11) (KEY thought = PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS)

1. Many REJECTED the Lord Jesus Christ because the Word was housed in FLESH AND BLOOD. (Jn. 1:14; I Tim. 3:16; Col. 2:9; Heb. 2:14-18) – through His BODY, the CHURCH, Christ the Word STILL comes to man housed in flesh and blood. Thus, to partake of Christ is to be actively and submissively involved in the ministry of His body, the Church, on a local level.

2. The Greek word for “FELLOWSHIP” carries with it the idea of a “PARTAKER”. We are (by NATURE) what we eat (PARTAKE OF; FELLOWSHIP WITH).

3. In time of FAMINE (Amos 8:11-14), men will EAT anything (II Kg. 6).

4. Eating something disagreeable (partaking of impure acts, words, or thoughts) can defile the BODY and make one SICK, even unto DEATH. (I Cor. 11:28-29)

Brief Outlined Study on the Concept of Fellowship:

1. We are in fellowship WITH GOD, THROUGH CHRIST, and then with HIS BODY (I Jn. 1).

2. The word “FELLOWSHIP” in Greek means “A JOINT PARTICIPATION; involvement; comrade; communion; sharing with intimacy; partner; companion; associate”. It was the word used for MARRIAGE (better or worse) and BUSINESS PARTNERSHIPS.

3. As the priest ate the Shewbread every Sabbath (fellowship of REST), there was a CLOSENESS around the Table. This speaks of our communion with Christ and His Body. (I Cor. 10:20-22; 11:23-30). NOTE – If a priest was out of his PLACE, his toes might have been “stepped on” by another priest.

4. The New Testament Church is gathered as priests (I Pet. 2:9) UNTO and AROUND Jesus Christ, the Bread of Life (Ps. 89:7). Our fellowship is CENTERED in HIS Person, and not our doctrines. Believers only really MEET TOGETHER as the spirits, minds, hearts, and voices blend unto the BIBLICAL CHRIST.

5. Many FEAR this kind of Covenant relationship with others in that we must make ourselves VULNERABLE (liable to HURT) as we open and expose our spirits to other people. That which is needed at ALL levels of maturity is:

a. MOTHER’S LOVE:Always Accepting. But acceptance is NOT approvalThis kind of compassion and understanding is greatly needed

b. FATHER’S LOVE:17

Page 18: 24184137 Tabernacle of Moses II

Firm respectBALANCES mother’s love

6. This kind of Bible fellowship is exampled as follows:

a. Working to hoard vs. working to give (finances, ministry, etc.)b. Competition vs. co-operation (DANGER – have to increase the “prize”)c. Discriminating vs. non-discriminating love. Those who walk in the Kingdom do not

choose whom they love (Mt. 5:48) NO prejudices.

7. SEVEN FOLD COMMITMENT TO BE A BETTER BROTHER:

a. HONESTY NO “phoniness” (Eph. 4:15); give and take discipline.b. FELLOWSHIP In areas beyond Church (work; recreation; prayer; money).c. SUBMISSION Authority can only function if there is submission.d. LOYALTY Will not give or receive criticism of the Body of Christ.e. RESPECT Trust; will not put “pressure” on others.f. SOBRIETY Take one another seriously; listen in depth.g. ACCEPTANCE Accept yourself; God has accepted us; everyone needs this.

8. LOYALTY:

a. The last days will be marked by TRAITORS and those who are LOYAL.b. God is loyal and loves a loyal people.c. We show our loyalty to Jesus as we show it to the brethren (I Jn. 3)d. KEY – BE LOYAL TO THOSE OVER US IN THE LORD. (Heb. 13:17. Even

though true leadership will correct, say “no”, “cross” our will, and conflict:1) Learn to love people as they ARE2) Learn to stand with leadership during times of accusation.3) Learn to flow with things that are done differently than your way.4) There is to be NO rebuking of leadership by SUBORDINATES. This is

ministered by the presbytery (those of LIKE/GREATER spirit).

9. II Cor. 6:14-7:1 provides a revelation of fellowship in FIVE AREAS:a. FELLOWSHIP Partnership in lifestyle (“righteous”)b. COMMUNION Common interests of revelation (“light”) (I Jn. 1:7)c. CONCORD Same voice from the LORD of the life (“Christ”)d. PART (INHERITANCE) Share in goal of taking the land (“believeth”)e. AGREEMENT Sentiment or belief concerning worship (“temple”)

Lesson 39The Table of Shewbread – IX

Brief Outlined Study of the Five-Fold Ministry: – (Eph. 4:11)

1. THE APOSTLE (GOD’S AUTHORITY – “one sent forth” – fully authorized)”a. Three categories of Apostles:

1) The Lord Jesus Christ – The CHIEF Apostle (Heb. 3:1)2) The Apostles of the Lamb (Mt. 10:2-6; Rev. 21:14)3) The many Apostles of the Spirit (I Cor. 15:9; Gal. 1:19; Acts 14:14; II Cor.

3:5-8; Rom. 16:7; Phil. 2:25; I Th. 1:1; 2:6; II Th. 1:1; II Cor. 8:23 (“MESSENGER”) is “apostello” = APOSTLE)

b. Characteristics of this ministry:I Cor. 12:28; 4:9, 15; I Th. 2:11; Eph. 2:19-22; I Cor. 9:2; II Cor. 12:12; 11:22-28; 10:13-16; etc.

2. THE PROPHET (GOD’S MOUTHPIECE):a. New Testament Prophets:

I Cor. 12:28; Acts 11:27-28; 13:1-2; 15:32; 21:10; 22:11-16 (FOUNDATION ministry with apostle – Eph. 2:20)

b. Characteristics of this ministry in HIGHER level of prophecy:1) PREDICTIVE word – Acts 11:282) DIRECTIVE word – Acts 13:2; 15:283) JUDGMENTAL word – Acts 5:9, 13:11. NOTE – This kind of word is given

in TWOS or THREES in the presence of men of like or greater spirit – I Cor. 14:29.

3. THE EVANGELIST (EDIFIER OR EXHORTER – “proclaimer of good news”):a. Works out of a LOCAL CHURCH under the covering of that Body and must submit

his life and ministry to that local oversight.b. Characteristics of this ministry can be learned by studying the examples of:

1) PHILIP (Acts 6:1-7; 8:5-19, 26-40; 21:8-9)2) TIMOTHY (Acts 16:1-2, 17:14-15; 19:22; Rom. 16:21; I Cor. 4:17)

4. THE PASTOR (SHEPHERD; FEEDER; governs by his ability to feed):a. Pours out his life for the sheep – Ezek. 34 and Jn. 10.b. Other characteristics of this ministry: I Pet. 5:2; Heb. 13:17; II Tim. 2:1-26; I Tim.

4:12-16; Rom. 13:1-7; I Cor. 4:1; II Cor. 3:6; 4:1-2; 6:1-10; Eph. 3:7; Col. 1:25; I Th. 3:2; etc.

5. THE TEACHER (Greek is ‘PASTOR-TEACHER’ – also see I Tim. 5:17a. New Testament Teachers – Acts 13:1; I Cor. 12:28; I Tim. 2:7; II Tim. 1:11; Acts

2:40; 8:34-35; 11:26; 15:35; 18:11, 24-25; 19:9-10; 18:26-28.b. The teacher deepens the roots of the church, building on the foundation laid by

apostles and prophets (I Pet. 5:1-4; Gal. 6:6; I Tim. 4:6-16).

19

Page 20: 24184137 Tabernacle of Moses II

6. THE PLURALITY OF ELDERS (But not always equal in deposit of ministry) oversee SPIRITUAL THINGS (Ex. 18:13-16; Num. 11:10-3-; Acts 14:23; 20:17-38; Tit. 1:5; I Tim. 5:17; Js. 5:14; QUALIFICATIONS listed in I Tim. 4:6-16).

7. DEACONS handle the GEMPORAL THINGS (Acts 6:107; Rom. 16:1; I Tim. 3:8-13)

8. The FIVE-FOLD MINISTRY is:

a. The God ordained pattern of GOVERNMENTb. The EXTENSION of the ministry of the LORD JESUS CHRIST

1) APOSTLE – Heb. 3:12) PROPHET – Jn. 4:193) EVANGELIST – Lk. 4:184) PASTOR – Jn. 10:115) TEACHER – Jn. 3:2NOTE – This brief study is only meant to INTRODUCE the ministries of Eph. 4:1.

Lesson 40The Golden Altar or The Altar of Incense(Ex.30:1-10, 34-38, 37:25-29; 40:5, 9; Num. 4:11; Heb. 9:4)

The Ministry of Jesus Christ as HIGH PRIEST FOR the Church (Rom. 8:34) The PRAYER, PRAISE, and WORSHIP of the Church through the HOLY GHOST working and moving IN the Church (Rom. 8:26-27).

THE NAMES OF THE GOLDEN ALTAR OF INCENSE:

1. The Altar to Burn Incense (Ex. 30:1). Reveals its purpose.2. The Altar of Incense (Ex. 30:27; 31:8). Altar teaches sacrifice.3. The Incense Altar (Ex. 35:15; 37:25). Only incense is burned on it.4. The Golden Altar (Ex. 39:38; 40:26). The divine nature of the truths connected with the Altar.5. The Altar of Gold (Ex. 40:5). The Divine nature of the truths connected with the Altar.6. The Altar of Sweet Incense before the Lord (Lev. 4:7). Sweet incense.7. The Altar before the Lord (Lev. 16:12, 18). Before the Lord.8. The Whole Altar that is by the Oracle (I Kg. 6:22). Makes us whole.9. The Golden Altar which is before the Throne (Rev. 8:3). For rulers.

DESCRIPTION AND TYPOLOGY OF THE GOLDEN ALTAR OF INCENSE – Part I:

1. The Altar occupied a central position at the end of the Holy Place directly in front of the Ark (separated by the Veil). The Altar was the nearest piece of furniture to the Ark. The pieces of furniture in the Tabernacle were arranged in the shape of a CROSS. (See diagram of the Tabernacle). The GOLDEN ALTAR was at the very CENTER of this in the HEART of the Tabernacle:

The ministry of prayer, praise, and intercession of Christ the High Priest and the Church are at the very heart of God.

The altar was at the END of the Holy Place (20 x 10 x 10 = 2000 year Church Age): The truths of the Golden Altar are being experienced at the END of this age.

The Ark is the THRONE: Jesus is the High Priest at the right hand of the Throne of God (Heb. 7:25; 9:24; I Jn. 2:1-2), and prayer and praise were CENTRAL to His ministry. Those OVERCOMERS who will sit WITH Him in His Throne have lives CENTERED in prayer and praise: their ministry of incense will overcome the Veil of FLESH.

The ministry of this altar is CLOSER and will bring us CLOSER to the Throne and the realm of the Holy of Holies than anything else. NOTE – that the term “ALTAR” teaches a SACRIFICE and a DISCIPLINE in prayer and praise (Heb. 13:15, Ps. 109:4).

2. The Altar was foursquare (1 cu. X 1 cu. X 2 cu. High) (1 ½ x 1 ½ x 3 ft.):

21

Page 22: 24184137 Tabernacle of Moses II

GIBI Course- Tabernacle of Moses II

The number FOUR reveals that Jesus’ High Priestly ministry is for the Body of Christ WORLDWIDE, touching the whole earth. The Church can “aim” and direct her prayer and praise in any direction and in the END of this age there is to be a worldwide restoration of prayer and praise.

The number ONE is outstanding Jesus’ prayer in Jn. 17. The ALTAR requires AND produces ONENESS or UNITY. (Acts 2:1; 4:24).

The number TWO reveals the prayer and praise of Christ the Head and Body and the WITNESS of prayer and praise.

It was the HIGHEST piece of furniture in the Holy Place: Christ’s EXALTED ministry (Eph. 1:20-21) and HIGH (heavenly) praise and prayer (Ps. 149:6-9).

3. It was made of shittim wood and overlaid with gold. The word GOLD was made FLESH (WOOD) (Jn. 1:14). The TWO natures in one MEDIATOR between God and man (I Tim. 2:5-6) are seen in Jesus’ High Priest ministry as He lays hold of God with one hand and man with the other. (Job 9:33).

The WOOD of His HUMANITY qualifies Him to be MAN’S intercessor (Heb. 2:14-18; 4:14-16).

The wood and gold has significance to Christ the BODY. Shittim wood has HEAVY BARK and SHARP THORNS for PROTECTION. In order for a believer to become an ALTAR DEVOTION, he must be STRIPPED (as was Christ the Head) of all NATURAL protections and defenses such as:

a. A bad temperb. A sharp tonguec. Self-pityd. Hysterical weepinge. Sulkingf. Withdrawing

All the above will HINDER prayer and praise.

22

Page 23: 24184137 Tabernacle of Moses II

Lesson 41The Golden Altar or the Altar of Incense – Part II

Description and Typology of the Golden Altar of Incense – Part 2:

4. It had a crown of gold. There was NO CROWN of gold for Christ at the Brazen Altar of Calvary, but now at the Golden Altar He is CROWNED with glory and honor (Heb. 2:9; Pr. 15:33) as a KING priest (Ps. 2:1-6; 45:1-2; 110:1; Heb. 7:1-4, 25) after the order of Melchizedek. Also note the CROWNING of the intercessor and the worshipper.

The crown also functioned to keep the coals on the Altar:a. SEPERATION in prayer and praise – Compare the Table of Shewbreadb. Christ’s intercession keeps us from falling. (Jude 2, 24)c. God keeps our WORDS from falling to the ground (1 Sam. 3:19).d. Intercessors and worshippers are not easily moved (Acts 20:24)

5. It had four horns made of wood and overlaid with gold. Compare the notes on HORNS given in the lessons on the Brazen Altar. As KING PRIEST over the Church, Jesus Christ at the right hand of God has ALL POWER (Mt. 28:18-20). There is POWER and STRENGTH in His intercession to bring a people into the fullness of God in the Holy of Holies (Heb. 7:25).

HORNS of oil were used to ANOINT ministries. To provide the HORN of OIL, a DEATH had to take place.

The FOUR horns note the POWER and STRENGTH of the prayer and praise of Christ the Head and Body in ALL DIRECTIONS and in demonstration WORLD WIDE.

GOLD over the horns shows the ENABLING of the HOLY GHOST (DIVINE enabling) in prayer and praise (Rom. 8:26-27; I Cor. 14:14-18).

6. There were either 2 or 4 rings and 2 staves of shittim wood and gold:

Most Bible scholars feel that there were TWO rings instead of four. This reveals the TWO persons interceeding for the Church.a. JESUS CHRIST FOR us at the right hand of Godb. The HOLY GHOST IN us

The two rings would cause the Altar to SWING when carried, giving the effect of a large CENSER thus functioning even on the march. Continual sacrifice of Heb. 13:15.

The two staves and rings convey many important truths:a. Believers should pray and praise wherever they go. (I Tim. 2:8)b. Believers need a personal life of prayer in life’s PILGRIMAGEc. We must have the intercession of Christ in life’s pilgrimage to ever guide and protect

(Mt. 28:20)d. There is a GROWTH and INCREASE of the ministries of praise and prayer as we

walk nearer and nearer to Canaan (KINGDOM realm). These can be seen in the

23

Page 24: 24184137 Tabernacle of Moses II

GIBI Course- Tabernacle of Moses II

Songs of DEGREES of Ps. 120-134 and II Cor. 3:18. Those who are overcomers in this end time are leaning to soar higher and higher in the Spirit realm in times of praise and prayer.

7. The fire of the Golden Altar was taken from the Brazen Altar. God has lit the FIRE on the Brazen Altar (Lev. 6:12-13; 9:24; Is. 4:4; Heb. 12:29) and there are other examples of DIVINE FIRE falling in APPROVAL from God in certain sacrifices (II Sam. 24 with I Chr. 21:25; II Chr. 7:1-3; I Kg. 18:38-39).

Thus, the fire on the Golden Altar was a DIVINE FIRE and any other fire was “STRANGE FIRE” (Ex. 30:9) which is a type of all FALSE WORSHIP. Thus, the BLOOD (Ex. 30:10) and FIRE came from the CROSS. The sacrifice of Christ is the BASIS of ALL prayer and praise.

God only accepts INCENSE that HE has prescribed and ALL APPROACH to God in prayer and praise MUST come through JESUS CHRIST (Jn. 14:6; 4:23-24) and the FIRE of the Holy Ghost KINDLES our devotions (Acts 2:4; Rev. 3:13; Is. 6:5-8).

NOTE the negative examples of Nadab and Abihu (Lev. 10:1-2; Num. 3:4; 26:61; I Chr. 24:2) and Uzziah (Lev. 13:44; I Chr. 26:16-19).

8. On the march, the Altar was covered with a cloth of blue and a covering of badger skins (Num. 4:11).

The color BLUE reveals our Lord from HEAVEN and that He is our Heavenly High Priest (I Cor. 15:27; Heb. 7:26) who has entered HEAVEN for us as Mediator and Advocate. In regard to the believer, the BLUE represents prayer and praise in the realm of the HEAVENLIES or the SPIRIT (I Cor. 14:14-18; Rom. 8:26-27; Eph. 6:18; Jude 20). Also note the HEAVENLY atmosphere of real prayer and praise.

The BADGER skin shows that there is no NATURAL beauty and attraction to the disciplines of spiritual prayer and praise. For example, the 30 fold in the Outer Court see little value to real worship and prayer in the Holy Ghost. Only those who have entered into the Holy Place and who have ministered unto the Lord see, appreciate and understand the Golden Altar.

NOTE – You can discover the Bible PATTERN of APPROACHING GOD by drawing an imaginary straight line through the tree pieces of the tabernacle furniture:a. BRAZEN ALTAR – The basis of all approach is the shedding of bloodb. THE LAVER – Daily cleaning and holiness is necessaryc. GOLDEN ALTAR – Spirit anointed prayer and praise

Lesson 42The Golden Altar or the Altar of Incense – Part III

A Brief Discussion of the Two Altars:

1. Brazen Altar2. Golden Altar

A. The SIMILARITIES between the two Altarsa) Both were foursquare (Christ died for the WHOLE world and interceeds for

the WHOLE Church)b) Both had rings and staves and were movablec) Both had horns (POWER to save and POWER to answer)

B. The DIFFERENCES between the two Altars

THE BRAZEN ALTAR THE GOLDEN ALTAROUTSIDE INSIDE

Wood and Brass Wood and GoldPerpetual blood-shedding Perpetual incense

No crown (Christ’s HUMILIATION) Golden crown (Christ’s EXALTATION)Place of SUFFERING (Savior) Place of TRIUMPH (King-Priest)

His EARTHLY ministry His HEAVENLY ministryFor the SINNER (the DEAD) For the BELIEVER (the LIVING)

Fire came from HEAVEN Fire came from BRAZEN ALTARBlood sprinkled CONTINUALLY (sacrifices) Blood sprinkled ANNUALLY

Other Facts About the Altar:

2. It was sprinkled annually on the Day of Atonement with BLOOD of the SIN OFFERING SEVEN times (Ex. 30:10; Lev. 16:17-19; 4:3-7, 18). The blood of Jesus the Sin Offering is the basis of His ministry of intercession at the right hand.

SEVEN times speaks of His COMPLETE and PERFECT atonement which opened up His COMPLETE and PERFECT ministry of intercession.

3. The Golden Altar was ANOINTED WITH OIL (Ex. 30:26-27). This revealsa. The anointed High Priestly ministry of Jesusb. The anointed incense of the saints

4. ONLY Aaron (High Priest) and his SEED (the Priests) could minister at the Golden Altar (Ex. 30:7-8; Num. 4:16; Deut. 33:10; I Sam. 2:28; I Chr. 6:49; II Chr. 2:4, 13:11). The offices of KING and PRIEST are PERMANENTLY united in Jesus Christ and believers become KINGS and PRIESTS after the same order of Melchizedek of the tribe of Judah (“PRAISE”) (Heb. 7; Rev. 1:6; 5:9-10; I Pet. 2:1-10). There is a SEED of Jesus Christ who shall prolong His days and His ministry (Is. 53:10; Ps. 22:30-31; I Pet. 1:23; Js. 1:18)

25

Page 26: 24184137 Tabernacle of Moses II

GIBI Course- Tabernacle of Moses II

5. Lev. 21:17-24 shows the PHYSICAL RESTRICTIONS that were placed upon the priests. These restrictions reveal characteristics of those who cannot see the importance and necessity of Spirit anointed prayer and praise.a. Blemish – spotted with sinb. Blind man – not born again; defective spiritual vision (no vision to praise)c. Lame man – an unsteady walkd. Flat nose – no discerning; not sensitive to the moving of the Spirite. Superfluous – out of balancef. Broken footed or broken handed – spiritually disabledg. Crooked backed – perverted or twisted attitudes; spiritually deformedh. Dwarf – stunted spiritual growth; no room for changei. Blemish in the eye – no new revelationj. Scurvy – impulsive; not principled in worshipk. Scabbed – no covering OR uncleannessl. Broken stones (damaged testicles) – no reproductive power

6. The blood on the horns of the Golden Altar (Lev. 16; 4:7, 18) speaks of the POWER of the blood in prayer. We can come BOLDLY because we have been ACCEPTED in the Beloved (Heb. 4:16; I Jn. 1:7; 2:1). There is a REFUGE in prayer and praise (I Kg. 1:50; 2:28).

26

Page 27: 24184137 Tabernacle of Moses II

GIBI Course- Tabernacle of Moses II

Lesson 43The Golden Altar or The Altar of Incense – Part IV

The Incense – Prayer, Praise, Worship: (Ps. 141:2; Rev. 5:8, 8:3)

1. The incense was offered PERPETUALLYa. Christ’s CONTINUAL High Priestly ministry (Heb. 7:25; Rom. 8:34)b. The saint’s CONTINUAL sacrifice of prayer (Ex. 30:7; Heb. 13:15)

2. The incense was offered DAILY every morning and evening (Ex. 30:7-8). See the notes in a later lesson concerning THE LEFT AND RIGHT HANDS OF MINISTRY. Also consider the DAILY ministry of Jesus and the devotions of the Church as she prays and praises. (II Chr. 29:7; I Kg. 18:36-38; Dan. 9:21; Ps. 55:17; Mal. 1:11)

For thoughts concerning Aaron’s ministry at the Golden Candlestick in connection with the Golden Altar, see the notes in previous lessons on the Candlestick.

3. Some of the incense was beaten very SMALL (Ex. 30:36). Note the crushing and beating of Christ the head and Body to become an altar of devotion. It is also true that God hears and answers the SMALLEST of prayers.

4. The incense is described as being “MOST HOLY” (Ex. 30:36). The sacredness and seriousness of prayer and praise (compare Lev. 16:12-13).

5. The incense was not to be IMITATED (Ex. 30:37-38). Jesus is the ONLY MEDIATOR between God and man (I Tim. 2:5). There is NO substitute for real prayer and praise ACCORDING TO THE PATTERN (Lev. 10:1-7; Jn. 4:23-24).

Compare the notes below that there were DEFINITE INSTRUCTIONS for Spirit anointed prayer and praise.

NOTE that the incense was not made unto “YOURSELVES”. It was not common to be used for SELFISH purposes, but was set apart unto God. (Js. 4:1-10).

6. There was a GOLDEN CENSER used especially on the Day of Atonement (Heb. 9:1-4; Rev. 8:1-6; Lev. 16:1-10. When the High Priest went into the Holy of Holies annually with the blood of bulls (for the sins of the priesthood) and goats (for the sins of the people), he represented the Lord Jesus Christ, our great High Priest who presented His own BLOOD unto the Father as a SIN OFFERING and also is significant of His taking the prayers (INCENSE) of the saints within the Veil (into God’s Presence) and presenting them before the Father on the basis of:a. Who He isb. What He has donec. What He said

7. We also note the INCENSE to be:a. SWEET – Song of Sol. 5:16

27

Page 28: 24184137 Tabernacle of Moses II

GIBI Course- Tabernacle of Moses II

b. PURE – Heb. 7:26c. HOLY – I Jn. 2:1; Heb. 7:26d. PERPETUAL – Heb. 7:16, 25; Eph. 6:18; Col. 4:2; Rev. 8:3e. PERFUME – Eph. 5:2

8. The incense was made up of four spices and salt (see below)

The Composition of the Incense (Ex. 30:34-38)These INGREDIENTS reveal:

a. The BALANCE of the High Priestly ministry of Jesus Christb. The balanced aspects of PRAYER and PRAISE in the Spirit

The fact that there are FIVE ingredients reveals the GRACE and MINISTRY flowing in the truths of the Golden Altar:

a. STACTE: (Hebrew means “to drop or distil”; also “rain” in Judg. 5:14 and “prophesy” in Mic. 2:6) (Compare Deut. 32:1-2).1) SPONTANEOUS FREE FLOW. Stacte is a fragrant sap of gum from a tree

on Mt. Gilead that flowed freely without piercing. Once Christ the King conquers us, there is a LIBERTY of a FREE SPIRIT (II Cor. 3:17)

2) SOME FEEL THAT IT MAY HAVE BEEN MYRRH. Compare the notes of myrrh in the ANOINTING OIL. Myrrh was used for PURIFYING. Connect the FREE SPIRIT that flows from a PURE HEART (Esth. 2:12; Mt. 5:8).

b. ONYCHA: (Hebrew means “finger nail” – from a scale or shell)1) FROM THE DEPTHS. Onycha was a ground shell fish or perfume crab taken

from the depths of the Red Sea. Its fragrance came from the things upon which it fed (Mt. 4:4). This incense flows from the Spirit of His Son from with (Ps. 42:7; Gal. 4:6).

2) IT WAS DARK AND COSTLY. The depths of humiliation are priceless experiences which produce incense (II Sam. 24; I Chr. 21:24; Mk. 14:3-9).

c. GALBANUM: (Hebrew root means “fatty” – the BEST part of the sacrifice. It had a disagreeable odor used to drive away insects or reptiles).1) FROM A BROKEN SPIRIT. Galbanum was a sap or gum that came from a

broken shrub in the highlands of Syria (must go UP to get it). This attitude is “I WANT TO” and not “I have to” (Is. 57:15; Ps. 51:17-19).

2) INCREASE OR GROWTH. The Hebrew root implies that we should GROW UP and give our BEST. The word could also mean “LAMENTATION” (men of sorrow in intercession) or “INCREASE” (Ps. 67:1-7; 84:4-7).

d. FRANKINCENSE: (Hebrew means “white”. Some feel that this spice came from a tree having flowers with FIVE petals and TEN stamens and fruit with FIVE side that grew upon the rocks (Is. 53:2). Note these numbers of MINISTRY and RESPONSIBILITY. Compare the notes on this spice at the Table.1) ELEMENT OF LONLINESS. Frankincense came from a tree that was pierced

during the NIGHT, letting the sap flow out during the DARK HOURS. Compare GETHSEMANE and scriptures like Job 1:20; Dan. 6:10.

28

Page 29: 24184137 Tabernacle of Moses II

GIBI Course- Tabernacle of Moses II

2) ACCEPTABLE INCENSE. See note on the Table of Shewbread (Ps. 19:14). The WHITE is seen in Mt. 2:11; Song 4:6; Jn. 19:39. Some feel that frankincense was also used as a MEDICINE (Pr. 17:22).

e. SALT: There are many thoughts here:1) Salt acts as a PRESERVATIVE and a SEASONING2) Salt keeps the incense PURE3) Salt has an ENDURING QUALITY4) Salt speaks of the COVENANT (II Chr. 13:5; Num. 18:19; Mk. 9:50)5) Salt speaks of the TABLE (Mt. 26:26-28; Lev. 2:13; Mt. 5:13)6) Salt IRRITATES

Some want no part of the Golden Altar. As priests, we want to come to the Altar of Incense having tasted the Bread at the Table to let our prayer and praise be seasoned with salt.

Lesson 44The Golden Altar or the Altar of Incense – Part V

The Left and Right Hands of Ministry:

A brief look at the MELCHIZEDEK PRIESTHOOD in the light of the Golden Altar.

1. INCENSE (PRAISE and PRAYER) was offered at TWO times during the day (Ex. 30:7-8).a. The MORNING INCENSE was offered at the THIRD HOUR (9 AM).b. The EVENING INCENSE was offered at the NINTH HOUR (3 PM).

MORNING INCENSE is PRAISE (LEFT HAND).EVENING INCENSE is PRAYER (RIGHT HAND).(Acts 2:11-15; 3:1, 7; 10:3, 30; Mk. 1:32-35)

MORNING INCENSE EVENING INCENSEPRAISE (Ministry UNTO GOD) PRAYER (Ministry UNTO BROKEN

HUMANITY)LEFT HAND of God RIGHT HAND of God (Acts 3:7)

2. A study of Heb. 9:4 (in the Greek); Lev. 16:12; Job 9:33, Heb. 6:20; 7:1-28; Rom. 8:29 reveals that on the Day of Atonement:a. Aaron went BEYOND THE VEIL with BOTH HANDS FULL OF INCENSEb. The Golden Altar was MOVED INTO THE HOLY OF HOLIES

This teaches that there will be a ministry of:a. PRAISE (taking hold of God with the LEFT hand)b. PRAYER (taking hold of BROKEN MAN with the RIGHT hand)

This will be done in a far greater DIMENSION than that of the Holy Place (2000 year Church Age)

3. This is the MELCHIZEDEK PRIESTHOOD of I Pet. 2:9; Gen. 14:18-20; Heb. 5:6; 6:20; 7:1-8 that is called of God to minister out of the realm of the Holy of Holies (the same realm out of which Christ the Head ministers). This GREATER DIMENSION of ministry is a realm of:a. The fullness of the Spirit (Jn. 3:34)b. NO failuresc. NO sicknessd. NO sine. NO death

To minister after the order (“MANNER”) of Melchizedek will be to move in a ministry that is UNLIMITED and energized by the POWER OF AN ENDLESS LIFE. Compare with the ZADOK priesthood of Ezek. 44:17:a. NO WOOLb. NO SWEAT

General Observations Concerning Worship and Praise:

1. The THREE realms of the Tabernacle represent:a. Outer Court – THANKSGIVINGb. Holy Place – PRAISEc. Holy of Holies – WORSHIP

2. To worship in SPIRIT (with our heart in it) and TRUTH (according to a pattern) is seen in Lam. 3:40-41; Jn. 4:23-24 (RIGHT FORM with RIGHT SPIRIT).

3. A study of David’s Tabernacle will reveal a NEW TESTAMENT PATTERN for worship.

4. GENERAL SCRIPTURES on praise (JUDAH = “PRAISE”) Lk. 2:20; Jn. 4:42; II Chr. 29:27; Ps. 35:1; I Th. 5:18; Ps 40:1-3; II Chr. 20:20-22; Judg. 1:1-2; Ps. 89:1; Jn. 12:42-43; Phil. 4:8; Hos. 10:11-12; Pr. 27:21.

5. PRINCIPLE OF RAIN – Rain falls in proportion to vapor rising (Job 36:27).

6. PRINCIPLE OF CHANGE – Man becomes what he worships (II Cor. 3:18).

7. Study JUDAH – Deut. 33:7; 2 Sam. 2:4; I Chr. 12:23-40; Joel 3:18; Gen. 49:10; Ps. 22:3; 114:2; 76:1; Gen. 29:34-35; tribal SYMBOL of a LION.

8. Motivations to praise (Ps. 149Covenant of praise (Ps. 81)Results of praise (Ps. 67:5-7Purposes of praise (Ps. 22:3; Pr. 27:21; Ps. 68:32-33; 149:6; Eph. 6:17; Ps. 50:23; Is. 61:3; Ps. 106:47; 69:34)Progress in praise (Compare Ps. 120-134 with the 15 steps of Ezek. 40:26-31)

General Observations Concerning Prayer:

1. CHRIST’S EXAMPLE: Heb. 10:5-7; Lk. 3:21-22; Mk. 1:35-39; Lk. 5:12-16; 6:12-13; Mt. 11:25; Jn. 6:11; Mt. 14:22-23; Mk. 7:32-37; 8:6; Lk. 9:18; Mt. 16:14-17; Lk. 9:28-35; 10:17-21; 11:1; Mt. 6:9-13; Jn. 11:41-42; Mk. 10:13-16, Jn. 12:20-28; Mt. 23:37-39; Lk. 19:41-44; Mt. 25:26-28; Lk. 22:31-34; Jn. 17; Mt. 26:39-46; Lk. 23:34, 46; Jn. 20:17; Lk. 24:13-35; Lk. 24:50-53.

2. INTERCESSORY PRAYER: Rom. 8:26-27; I Cor. 14:14-18; Eph. 6:18; Js. 5:17; Jude 20; Ex. 33; I Sam. 1; I Kg. 18; Dan. 6.

Lesson 45The Three Entrances into the Tabernacle of Moses – Part I

II Peter 1:111. The GATE into the Outer Court2. The DOOR into the Holy Place3. The VAIL into the Holy of Holies – The Doctrine of the INCARNATION

1. THE GATE INTO THE OUTER COURT (Ex. 27:16-19; 38:13-19)

A. THE NAMES OF THIS ENTRANCE:1) The Gate – Ex. 27:162) The Curtain for the Door of the Court – Num. 3:263) The Door of the Court – Num. 3:26

B. Description and Typology of this First Entrance1) This gate was the only entrance into the Outer Court. The ONLY entrance into

the courts of the Lord is the Lord Jesus Christ (Jn. 14:6; Acts 4:12; I Tim. 2:5). Everyone had to come the SAME way. Man could enter, but only God’s way. (Eph. 2:11-18; Jn. 10:1-10).

It was on the EAST side. The EAST side was the side of the rising of the SUN. The Israelites entered in LIGHT (Num. 2:3; Ps. 65:4; 84:10). This LIGHT would also REVEAL the truths in connection with the linen and the various colors of the gate.

2) Its measurements were 20 cu. (30 ft.) wide and 5 cu. (7 ½ ft.) high. It was a WIDE gate. A universal fate for “whosoever will” (1 Tim. 2:4). This emphasizes the “BREADTH” of Eph. 3:18. An invitation to the whole world. This gate kept OUT the one who refuses to enter and kept IN the one who chose to enter. The number 5 stresses the GRACE extended through this Gate. There was 15 cu. of linen fence on either side of the gate on the east side. The number 15 (REST) on either side of the gate reveals the REST offered to those who choose to enter. (Mt. 11:28-30).

3) The gate was easily accessible and not guarded. The entrance into the Courts of the Lord is not complicated. It was the ALL Israel and anyone could enter into the courts of the Lord through this entrance. This Gate can accommodate everyone and anyone who desires to come. The Lord Jesus Christ has made a way for ALL men.

4) The gate was upheld by four pillars of brass set in brass sockets. These pillars were capped in silver and connected by silver fillets or connecting rods. The gate hung from silver hooks connected to the pillars. There were FOUR pillars:

32

Page 33: 24184137 Tabernacle of Moses II

GIBI Course- Tabernacle of Moses II

a) The WORLDWIDE availability of the Gateb) The FOUR Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, Johnc) There were FOUR women in the genealogy of Christ in Mt. 1:3, 5, 6.

For thoughts on the concepts involved with the PILLARS, see the notes concerning the description and typology of the Outer Court mentioned in an earlier lesson. We might also mention that is the CHURCH that extends an invitation through this Gate. (I Tim. 3:5; Rev. 3:12)

The BRASS emphasizes that sin has been JUDGED so that we can enter and the truth that we can stand STRONG in His redemption.

The SILVER speaks of Christ’s REDEMPTION offered in this Gate.

The SOCKETS and CAPS. Jesus is the ALPHA and OMEGA, the AUTHOR and FINISHER of our faith. (Rev. 22:13)

The SILVER HOOKS, everything HANGS on Christ’s BLOOD.

RODS, His redemption in the UNIFYING factor of the four Gospels (pillars).

5. The gate was made of needlework of fine twined linen and the colors of flue, purple, and scarlet. This Gate was a BEAUTIFUL gate, it ATTRACTED people (Son. 5:16)

It was also a DISTINCTIVE Gate for one could not mistake it for the rest of the wall of linen fence. There can be NO MISTAKING that the Scriptures reveal but ONE into the Courts of the Lord, even Jesus Christ. (For an in-depth study on the fine linen and the various colors, refer to the notes on the VEIL in a later lesson.) NOTE, however, that the fine linen was inwrought with these colors showing that the life of Christ was inwrought, inworked, outworked, and indwelt by the Spirit of God, the work of the Holy Spirit. (Col. 1:19; 2:9; Jn. 3:34).

The Realm Into Which the Gate of the Court Enters: Ps. 18:19-20; 100:4; 87:2; 122:2; 24:7; Is. 26:1-4; 60:11, 18; Gen. 28:17; Rev. 21:21, 25; 22:14).

1. The Outer Gate leads to the Brazen Altar and the forgiveness of sins at the CROSS through the shedding of His blood FOR ALL ISRAEL.

2. The Outer Court is the realm of the NEW BIRTH (Jn. 3:1-8)3. It is the FEAST OF PASSOVER: The Lamb of God.4. It is the realm of COMMON SALVATION (Jude 3)5. It is the pattern of Son JESUS at BIRTH (Lk, 2:7 – Greek word is “teknon”)6. It is the realm of LITTLE CHILDREN (I Jn. 2:12)7. It is pictured by Israel COMING OUT OF EGYPT (deliverance)8. It is the realm of the 30-FOLD Christian (Mt. 13:23)

33

9. It is the elementary realm of THANKSGIVING for gifts and mercies10. It is the realm of NATURAL LIGHT (sun)11. It is the realm of the GOOD WILL OF GOD (Rom. 12:2)12. It is the DUST of Abraham’s seed (Gen. 13:16)13. It is the realm of the FOOLISH VIRGINS of Mt. 2514. It is pictured in the BRASS VESSELS of Ezra 1:1015. Lesson 46The Three Entrances into the Tabernacle of Moses – Part II

The Door into the Holy Place (Ex. 26:36-37; 36:37-38)

1. THE NAMES OF THIS ENTRANCE:A. The Hanging for the Door of the Tent (Ex. 26:36)B. The Hanging (Ex. 26:37)C. The Hanging for the Tabernacle Door (Ex. 36:37)D. The Door of the Tabernacle of the Congregation (Lev. 1:3)

2. SOME OF THE DOORS OF THE BIBLE (All speak of Christ the Door)A. The Blood-sprinkled Door of the Passover (Ex. 12:22-23)B. The Door of the Tabernacle (Ex. 26:36)C. The Door upon which was written the Law (Deut 11:20)D. The Door of Hope (Hos. 2:15)E. The Door of the Marriage (Mt. 25:10)F. The Door of Opportunity (I Cor. 16:9; Rev. 3:7-8)G. The Door Himself, the Lord Jesus Christ (Jn. 10:8-9)

3. DESCRIPTION AND TYPOLOGY OF THIS SECOND ENTRANCE:A. This door was the only entrance into the Holy Place. The entrance speaks of CHRIST

THE DOOR (Jn. 10:7-9). The measurements of the Holy Place were 10 x 10 x 20 – 2000 cubits: this speaks of the 2000 year CHURCH AGE. Jesus is the ONLY entrance into the sheepfold of His Church and all priestly ministry is done through Him.

B. Its measurements were 10 cu. (15 ft.) high and 10 cu. Wide. This makes it twice as height and half as narrow as the Gate into the Outer Court. The number 10 reveals the RESPONSIBILITY of those born again in the realm of the Outer Court to be filled with the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:4; Eph. 4:17-18) and then develop a spiritual ministry in the many membered Body of Christ (Eph. 4:16).

This Door was a HIGH Door. This emphasizes the “HEIGHT” of Eph. 3:18 and shows a HIGHER plane of the Christian walk and a greater dimension of the Spirit as well as a more EXALTED view of the glorified Christ. The Door was half as wide as the Gate. It was a NARROW Door that reveals more DISCIPLINE in the walk as priests (1 Pet. 2:1-10) for it was NOT to be for ALL Israel as was the Gate (Lk. 13:24; Mt. 7:13-14).

C. Only priests could enter through this Door. Rev. 1:6 and 1 Pet. 2:1-10 reveal to us that we are made Kings and Priests unto God. God desires to raise up in the earth a “kingdom of priests” (Ex. 19:6) through His Church. The place of PRIESTLY ministry is the Church. God wants a many membered body of saints to be joints of spiritual ministry through the gifts of the Holy Spirit (I Cor. 12:8-10, 12-26). This end-time Church has access as an army of King Priests to offer up spiritual sacrifices, in a spiritual priesthood, in a spiritual house containing the many truths of the Golden Candlestick, Table of Shewbread, and Altar of Incense.

35

Page 36: 24184137 Tabernacle of Moses II

GIBI Course- Tabernacle of Moses II

D. There were five pillars upholding this Door made of wood and overlaid with gold. The number FIVE can refer to many things:1) The FIVE-fold ministry of Eph. 4:112) The FIVE-fold name of Christ in Is. 9:63) The FIVE writers of the epistles in the New Testament: Peter, James, John,

Jude and Paul4) That all the blessings and truths of this second realm come through the

GRACE of God (Jn. 1:17)

The WOOD (humanity) and GOLD (divinity) again reveal the two natures of Christ the Head and Body.

These pillars were set in brass sockets and capped with gold:

The BRASS sockets speak of the Outer Court. The Door stands at the shutting off of the Outer Court and the Entering of the Holy Place. The Outer Court can also be likened to the 1500 year Dispensation of the LAW. Christ stands as the end of the LAW (brass) and is the DOOR into the Church and the present dispensation of the Holy Spirit (gold). This could also be said of the PILLAR MINISTRIES of the early Church (Gal. 2:9) who saw the closing of one age and the dawn of another new age.

The GOLD CAPS (crowns) show the crowning of Christ the Head and Body (Heb. 2:9-10). The Door hung from GOLDEN HOOKS connected to the pillars. Everything mentioned in connection with the Door and the Holy Place HANGS on the DIVINITY of Christ (Jn. 1:1-18).

5) Like the Gate into the Outer Court, the Door was made of the same material of linen with colors of blue, purple, and scarlet. This Door was a BEAUTIFUL Door (Song. 5:16). (For an in-depth study on the fine linen and the various colors, refer to the notes on the VEIL in a future lesson). NOTE that the word for “NEEDLEWORK” in Ex. 26:36 means “THE WORK OF THE EMBROIDERER” (The Holy Spirit).

The Realm into Which the Door of the Tabernacle Enters:

1. The Tabernacle Door leads to the Sanctuary and the various priestly ministries at the Candlestick, Table, and Altar: FOR THE PRIEST.

2. The Holy Place is the realm of the SPIRIT FILLED CHURCH and the HOLY GHOST BAPTISM of Acts 2.

3. It is the FEAST OF PENTACOST, firstfruits (Rom. 8:23).4. It is the realm of GREAT SALVATION (Heb. 2:3-4).5. It is the pattern Son Jesus IN THE TEMPLE (Lk. 2:40 – the Greek word “teknon” means

“adolescent”).6. It is the realm of YOUNG MEN (I Jn. 2:13).7. It is pictured by Israel MOVING IN THE WILDERNESS (discipline)8. It is the realm of the 60 FOLD Christian (Mt. 13:23).9. It is the realm of the deep appreciation of PRAISE.10. It is the realm of ARTIFICIAL LIGHT (Candlestick)

11. It is the realm of the ACCEPTABLE WILL OF GOD (Rom. 12:2)12. It is the SAND of Abraham’s seed (Ge. 22:17).13. It is the realm of the WISE VIRGINS of Mt. 25.14. It is pictured in the SILVER VESSELS of Ezra 1:10.15. It is pictured in the BULK of the harvest.16. It is the realm of the SECOND SEALING: Holy Spirit Baptism (Ex. 28:9-11; Eph. 1:13-14; II

Cor. 1:21-22)17. It is the realm of the SECONG ANOINTING, Judah means “praise” (II Sam. 2:4).18. It is the realm of the SECOND BAPTISM IN THE CLOUD: Divine leadership, Rain, Shade,

Comfort, Holy Ghost Baptism (I Cor. 10:2).19. It is the realm of the SECOND HEAVEN (Eph. 2:6)20. It is the SECOND LEVEL of

Lesson 47The Three Entrances into the Tabernacle of Moses – Part III

The Veil into the Holy of Holies: (Ex. 26:31-33; 36:35-36; Heb. 9:2-5). The Doctrine of the INCARNATION.

1. THE NAME OF THIS ENTRANCE: (The Hebrew word for veil means “A SCREEN, SEPARATER, CURTAIN; THAT WHICH HIDES”)A. The Veil (Ex. 26:31; Heb. 6:19). A divider.B. The Second Veil (Num. 4:5). Of the actual Tabernacle building, the Door being the

“first veil”.C. The Covering Veil (Num. 4:5). It covered the Ark when the camp moved.D. The Veil of the Covering (Ex. 35:12; 39:34; 40:21).E. The Veil of the Testimony (Lev. 24:3). It covered the Table of the Law which was

inside the Ark.F. The Veil of the Sanctuary (Lev. 4:6). Inside the sanctuary, it divided the priest from

the Holy of Holies.

2. SOME OF THE VEILS OF THE BIBLE (All to be removed by Christ’s Incarnation):A. The Veil of the Tabernacle – (Ex. 26:31-35)B. The Veil of the Temple of Solomon – (II Chr. 3:14)C. The Veil of Rebekah – (Gen. 24:65)D. The Veil of Tamar – (Gen. 38:14, 19)E. The Veil upon Moses’ face – Ex. 34:33-35)F. The Veil of the Shulamite – Song of Sol. 5:7)G. The Veil upon the Nations – Is. 25:6-9)H. The Veil of Blindness on Israel – II Cor. 3:13-16)I. The Veil of Herod’s Temple that was Rent – (Mt. 27:31)J. The Veil of Christ’s Flesh – (Heb. 10:19-20) The time is coming when every Veil will

be abolished, and we shall behold Him face to face. (I Cor. 13:12; Rev. 22:4)

DESCRIPTION AND TYPOLOGY OF THIS THIRD ENTRANCE

1. The Veil was made of “cunning work”. The Hebrew word for “CUNNING” means “THE WORK OF A THINKER”. The Incarnation of Jesus Christ, the Word made flesh, was the purpose of the Father. The truths seen in the linen, the colors, and the cherubim were inwrought by the wisdom and Spirit of God to the Divine pattern. Compare the marvelous design and intricate detail worked out in the Person, Life, and Ministry of the Lord Jesus, the Incarnate Word, by the Holy Spirit.

2. This Veil was the only entrance into the Holy of Holies. The Lord Jesus Christ is the ONLY way into the Holiest of All. As the pattern and Son, He has entered that dimension of Life, and has provided a way for us to follow His example (Heb. 6:20; 10:19-22). Christ has provided an ACCESS to the Father because of the Incarnation. He has been tempted in all points yet has emerged an OVERCOMER in every area of life. (Heb. 2:14-18; 4:14-16)

3. Its measurements were 10 cu. (15 ft.) high and 10 cu. Wide. The number 10 reveals the RESPONSIBILITY of those who are born again and Spirit filled (Outer Court and the Holy Place) to press into the MATURITY of the HIGH CALLING in Christ Jesus. (Eph. 4:13;

38

Page 39: 24184137 Tabernacle of Moses II

GIBI Course- Tabernacle of Moses II

Phil. 3:12-14). Like the Door into the Holy Place, the Veil was HIGH and NARROW. (Compare the notes on the Door). The number 15 reveals the REST into which the Veil leads and emphasizes the truth of Heb. 4:609 that some MUST enter therein. The Veil was 10 x 10 and emphasizes the 100 FOLD will enter as did Jesus.

4. Only the High Priest could enter through the Veil once a year on the Day of Atonement in the 7th month. Jesus Christ, our great HIGH PRIEST after the order of Melchizedek (see Heb. 7) has entered into the Holy of Holies to make ATONEMENT for us. (Compare also here the notes later given on the MERCY SEAT and the DAY OF ATONEMENT). The Word made flesh tore down this wall of separation as He made atonement for Jew and Gentile. (Eph. 2:13-14). NOTE, also that there will be a people who will GO BEYOND THE VEIL in the 7th month (PERFECTION) to sit down with their overcoming High Priest (Rev. 3:21).

5. There were four pillars upholding this Veil made of wood and overlaid with gold. The FOUR pillars can represent the FOUR Gospels who set forth the EARTHLY ministry of the Word made FLESH (II Cor. 4:16-17; I Tim. 3:16). The number FOUR also shows that the Incarnation of Christ was for the WHOLE WORLD. The FOUR pillars can be likened to the FOUR points of I Cor. 1:30 which Christ the Incarnate has brought to mankind. The WOOD overlaid with GOLD reveals the HUMANITY and CIVINITY or Christ. The two natures in ONE person. These pillars were set in silver sockets and were cut off and uncrowned.

The SILVER SOCKETS, Christ’s REDEMPTION was the purpose of the Incarnation. This SILVER was taken from the “REDEMPTION” money of Ex. 30:11-16 when each Israelite over 20 years of age gave ½ SHEKEL of SILVER, thus, ONE SHEKEL of SILVER – TWO SOULS. Each socket of SILVER weighed ONE TALENT or 3000 SHEKELS = 6000 SOULS.

FOUR sockets = 24,000 SOULS and speaks of that Melchizedek PRIESTHOOD (24 is the PREISTHOOD number) which shall minister out of the realm of the Most Holy Place (I Chr. 24; Rev. 4:4; 5:9-10).

The four pillars were CUT OFF and UNCROWNED. The Scriptures DO NOT mention caps. This speaks of Christ who was CUT OFF (Is. 53:8 and Ps. 102:23-24) and the HUMILIATION of His Incarnation (Phil. 2:1-8).

The Veil hung from gold hooks connected to the pillars. The Incarnation Hangs upon and depends upon Christ’s DIVINITY for He was the WORD made flesh. (Jn. 1:1-4, 14; I Tim. 3:16).

6. Like the Gate into the Outer Court and the Door into the Holy Place, the Veil was made of the same material of linen with colors of glue, purple, and scarlet. This Veil was a BEAUTIFUL Veil (Song. 5:16). See the next lesson for the detailed typology of the FINE LINEN and the colors of BLUE, PURPLE, and SCARLET. This fine twined linen was also inwrought with figures of cherubim (Compare the Curtain of Fine Linen already discussed). See a later lesson on the MERCY SEAT for an in-depth study of the CHERUBIM.

These types will apply toA. The GATE into the Outer CourtB. The DOOR into the Holy PlaceC. The VEIL into the Holy of HoliesD. The CURTAIN of fine linen which was the inmost COVERING of the TabernacleE. The LINEN fence around the Court and other parts of the Tabernacle

1. LINENA. WHITE: pure, clean, speaks of PURITY or RIGHTEOUSNESS (Rev. 15:6; 19:7-8,

14). Contrast the FILTHY RAGS of Is. 64:6.B. The linen was FINE TWINED. The inworking of the Holy Spirit.C. The garments of PRIESTS (Ex. 28:39-43 with Is. 61:3, 10; Rev. 3:5).D. Linen could NOT be mingled with WOOL (speaks of SWEAT and the CURSE or sin

and death) under the Mosaic Law. (Lev. 19:19; Deut. 22:11).E. The BODY of Jesus was wrapped in LINEN (Mk. 15:46; Jn. 20:5).F. For LINEN, see Esth. 8:15; Gen. 41:42; Is. 3:23; Lk. 16:19.G. For WHITE, see Song 5:10; Ps. 51:7; Eccl. 9:8; Is. 1:18; Dan. 7:9; Dan. 11:35; 12:10;

Mt. 17:1-2; 28:2-3; Rev. 1:13-14.

2. BLUE (taken from a shellfish)A. This color speaks of HEAVEN and things HEAVENLY in nature.B. Christ is the Lord from HEAVEN (Ex. 24:10; I Cor. 15:47-49).C. Israel wore a border of BLUE to remind them of their HEAVENLY walk and

citizenship (Num. 15:32-41) and commandments from HEAVEN.D. Also see Ezek. 1:26; II Chr. 2:7; Esth. 1:6; 7:6; 8:14; Heb. 7:26.

3. PURPLE (taken from a shellfish)A. This color speaks of ROYALTY and KINGSHIP (Lk. 16:19; Jn. 19:1-3).B. Christ is the KING of Kings and the LORD of Lords (Rev. 19:16).C. PURPLE is produced by a blending of BLUE and SCARLET. In Christ there is a

blending of the human and divine natures. He is both the Son of God and the Son of Man (Lk. 1:30-33; Rev. 19:11-16). This qualifies Him to be the ONLY MEDIATOR between God and Man, because being God (BLUE), Christ partook of flesh (SCARLET).

D. Also see Judg. 8:26; Dan. 5:7, 16, 19; Mt. 27:28; Pr. 31:22; Song. 3:10; 7:5; Mk. 15:17, 10; Acts 16:14.

4. SCARLET (taken from a WORM) Hebrew word means “WORM” or “INSECT”A. This color is the color of BLOOD and speaks of SACRIFICE (SUFFERING) or

HUMANITY (Mt. 27:28; Lev. 17:11; Is. 1:18).B. Christ was the SACRIFICE for sin as the SUFFERING Savior.C. Christ was the WORM (Ps. 22:6; Job 25:6; Is. 41:14).

Lesson 49The Three Entrances into the Tabernacle of Moses – Part V

The Realm into Which the Veil of the Tabernacle Enters:

1. The Veil leads into the Holy of Holies and the FULLNESS of God’s Presence at the ARK of the Covenant (the THRONE of God).

2. The Holy of Holies is the realm of FULL MATURITY as the Sons of God who have come to Jesus Christ’s FULL STATURE and IMAGE (Eph. 4:8-16; I Cor. 13; Rom. 8; I Jn. 3:1-3; II Cor. 3:18; Gal. 4:1-7).

3. It is the FEAST OF TABERNACLES – Harvest; FULLNESS of the Spirit (Jn. 3:34).

4. It is the realm of ETERNAL SALVATION (Heb. 5:9).

5. It is the pattern Son Jesus AT THE JORDAN (Luke 3:22 – Greek is “huios”).

6. It is the realm of FATHERS (I Jn. 2:14).

7. It is pictured by Israel MOVING INTO THE LAND (promised inheritance).

8. It is the realm of the 100 FOLD Christian (Mt. 13:23).

9. It is the realm of the adoration of WORSHIP.

10. It is the realm of DIVINE LIGHT (Shekinah glory of God).

11. It is the realm of the PERFECT WILL OF GOD (Rom. 12:2).

12. It is the STARS of Abraham’s seed (Gen. 15:5).

13. It is the realm of the WATCHMAN of Mt. 25 who gave the midnight cry.

14. It is pictured in the GOLD VESSELS of Ezra 1:10 and II Tim. 2:20.

15. It is pictured in the FIRSTFRUITS of the harvest (Js. 1:18; Rev. 14:1-5).

16. It is the realm of the THIRD SEALING: the mind of Christ in the forehead (Ex. 28:36; Rev. 7:2-3; 4:1; 22:1-4; Ezek. 9).

17. It is the realm of the THIRD ANOINTING: Oil on the beard at the age of 30. RULERSHIP of ALL THINGS (II Sam. 5:3). Compare JOSEPH and JESUS at 30.

18. It is the realm of the THIRD BAPTISM IN THE JORDAN: entrance into Canaan, baptized unto Joshua, baptized into conflict (II Cor. 12:2).

42

Page 43: 24184137 Tabernacle of Moses II

GIBI Course- Tabernacle of Moses II

19. It is the realm of the THIRD HEAVEN (II Cor. 12:2).

20. It is the THIRD LEVEL of:

a. Noah’s Arkb. Solomon’s Templec. Ezekiel’s Temple

NOTE: By comparing the 20 points of the three charts for the GATE, the DOOR, and the VEIL of the Tabernacle, we can readily see that consistently throughout the Word of God there are THREE levels of Christian maturity. A short list is given below.

THE OUTER COURT THE HOLY PLACE THE HOLY OF HOLIESBorn of the Spirit Earnest of the Spirit Fullness of the Spirit

Born into inheritance Earnest of inheritance Fullness of inheritanceHave been saved Are being saved Shall be saved

Christ is THE WAY Christ is THE TRUTH Christ is THE LIFEBabes Youth Men

NOTE: All three entrances were made of the SAME MATERIAL, except for the inwrought Cherubim in the VEIL.

Since the VEIL represent FLESH (see Heb. 10:10), we can conclude that a wall of FLESH stands before EACH realm to hinder mankind from entering into:

a. The New Birthb. The Baptism of the Holy Spiritc. Full Maturity(Man’s FLESHLY intellect and understanding)

NOTE: The number 300 in prominent in the three entrances. The GATE (20 x 5), the DOOR (10 x 10), and the VEIL (10 x 10) make 100 + 100 + 100 = 300 sq. cu.

The number 300 in the number of COMPLETE DELIVERANCE and of a FAITHFUL REMNANT who are sold out to God 100% (Gen. 5:22; 6:15; Judg. 8:4, 15:4; and II Chr. 9:16).

LET US BELIEVE THAT THE WAY INTO THE FULLNESS OF THE SPIRIT AND OUR INHERITANCE AS SONS IS ALREADY MADE, AND LET US ENTER BY FAITH INTO THE MATURITY OF THE LORD (Heb. 10:19-22; Ps. 27:4-5; Mt. 7:13-14; Heb. 4:1-11).

Lesson 50The Three Entrances into the Tabernacle of Moses – VI

The Purpose of the Veil:

1. TO COVER OR TO CONCEAL:A. It was called the Veil of the Covering in Ex. 35:12; 39:33; 40:21.B. This Veil was to HIDE the Shekinah Glory from the eyes of men.C. It covered and concealed the Ark and the Mercy Seat when the Tabernacle was erected

and on the march. (Num. 4:5).D. The word “REVELATION” means to “UNCOVER” or UNVEIL”. The realm of the

Holy of Holies has been declared and REVEALED through the Lord Jesus Christ. (Jn. 1:18; Mt. 16:13-18; Pr. 25:2; Eph. 3:1-5; I Pet. 1:13).

2. TO ACT AS A PARTITION, BARRIER, OR GUARD:A. In the Word the CHERUBIM are pictured as COVERING or GUARDING.B. The Veil acted as a partition to separate sinful men from the most Holy God. (See

Eph. 2:13-14). Man must see himself as sinful.C. Being 10 cu. Square, it represented the 10 Commandments (THE LAW). Any man

coming into the Presence of God had to face the Law. Christ made the way whereby man might keep the Law in HIM and thus be able to come in the Presence of a Holy God. (Ps. 40:7-8; Js. 2:10; Rom. 7).

D. The Veil acted as a MEDIATOR, coming between God and Man, shutting God in and Mankind out. Preventing all access, it revealed that the WAY into God’s Presence was not yet opened to all. But Jesus Christ provides that WAY through His Incarnation. (I Tim. 2:5; Heb. 9:8-15; 10:19-22).

E. This great wall of separation and division was the result of SIN.F. The GLORY that was once concealed in NOW made manifest. (II Cor. 3:12-18).

3. TO FORESHADOW CHRIST’S HUMANITY THROUGH THE INCARNATION:A. The same Spirit that anointed Bezaleel to PRODUCE the Veil anointed Mary to

produce the fleshly Veil of Christ’s human body. (Lk. 1:35).B. Scriptures on the Incarnation, the Word made flesh: I Tim. 3:16; Jn. 1:14; II Cor. 5:19;

Heb. 2:14-18; 4:14-16; 10:20; Phil. 2:1-8; II Cor. 5:16-17; Rom 8:3; Gal. 4:4; I Jn. 1:1-2; 4:2; Is. 7:14; 9:6.

C. The GLORY of God WAS (in Jesus) and IS (in His Body) veiled in human FLESH (Lk. 9:32; Col. 2:9). The Lord still comes to mankind veiled in the FLESH of His Body (Eph. 5:30).

4. TO SPEAK OF THE FLESH:A. ALL truth is veiled (Mt. 13:13; Pr. 25:2). FLESH hinders spiritual insight (II Cor.

3:11-18). This, one can see the value of FASTING.B. FLESH MUST DIE (Gal. 5:16-17; Rom 7; Song. 2:9).

44

Page 45: 24184137 Tabernacle of Moses II

GIBI Course- Tabernacle of Moses II

The Rending of the Veil:

1. Rent when Christ died (Mt. 27:46-53; Mk. 15:34-38; Lk. 23:44-46).

2. Rent by GOD and NOT by man (from TOP to the BOTTOM). GOD SMOTE HIS SON (Deut. 21:23; Gen. 32; Job 1-2; Ps. 22:15; 38:2; 42:7; 88:6-7, 16; Is. 53:10; Zech. 13:7). The TENT VEIL was 17 ½ feet high (No human hand could reach it), 4 inches thick, and required 60 men to handle it.

3. Rent “in the MIDST” (Lk. 23:45). DIRECT access. No more WALL of Eph. 2:14.

4. Rent COMPLETELY: COMPLETENESS of Christ’s sacrifice, the BROKEN BODY of Jesus at Calvary (“IT IS FINISHED!” – Jn. 19:30).

5. The Results:

a. Provided an ACCESS – Heb 10:19-22; Rom. 5:2b. Exposed ALL that had been concealed – Eph. 1:3c. Revealed the GLORY – II Cor. 3:18d. ABOLISHED the Old Testament – Heb. 10:9e. Will not be repeated – Rom. 6:10; Heb. 10:10-14

Lesson 51The Ark of the Covenant and the Mercy Seat – Part I(Ex. 25:10-22; 37:1-9; 40:20-21)

The Overall Principle of the Holy of Holies:

The THIRD REALM in God was 10 x 10 x 10 cu. And represents the 1000 year KINGDOM AGE and the NEW DAY of which we are now seeing.

This THIRD level of Christian maturity is the realm of the FULLNESS OF THE SPIRIT (Jn. 3:34) and the FULLNESS of our INHERITANCE, which as ALL THINGS in Christ Jesus (Eph. 1:3; II Pet. 1:4).

This THIRD REALM is the realm of ETERNAL SALVATION (Heb. 5:9).This THIRD REALM is the realm of the FEAST OF TABERNACLES.This THIRD REALM is the realm of the 100 FOLD.This THIRD REALM is the realm of the FATHERS of I Jn. 2:14.

This Most Holy Place is the realm of God’s Presence and THRONE and represents the OPEN HEAVEN (Jn. 1:51).

This inmost place is also referred to as the ZION of God, for David placed his tabernacle and the Ark on Mt. Zion (II Chr. 5:2).

This THIRD REALM is the realm of NO limitations. This THIRD REALM is the realm of NO failures. This THIRD REALM is the realm of NO sickness. This THIRD REALM is the realm of NO death. This THIRD REALM is the realm of NO CURSE.

The floor of the Holy of Holies was of EARTH, showing that this dimension will be EXPERIENCED by an end time people of God in the EARTH as they experience the FEAST OF TABERNACLES.

Jesus Christ is seen in this realm as:a. The risen and exalted, and enthroned Head of the Churchb. KING OF KINGSc. Victorious over ALL enemiesd. Our PROPITIATION

In the light of PRESENT TRUTH, we know that Jesus opened this third dimensions as a FORERUNNER (Heb. 6:20) and as the FIRSTBORN Son (Rom. 8:29) and suffered to bring MANY SONS unto this GLORY (Heb. 2:9-13).

Like their Head, a GLORIOUS company and Church will receive the Spirit without measure (Jn. 3:34). The Holy of Holies was a CUBE, as is the New Jerusalem (Rev. 21:6), the eternal glory of the CHURCH, the Lamb’s Wife.

46

THE ARK OF THE COVENANT AND THE MERCY SEAT:

Many areas of teaching are emphasized here, such as:

1. Christ the KING OF KINGS and LORD OF LORDS who is risen, exalted, and SEATED, RESTING in His VICTORY over ALL enemies (Rev. 10:6).

2. The Doctrine of PROPITIATION at the MERCY SEAT (Rom. 3:25).

3. The THRONE of God (Ps. 99:1)

4. The GLORIOUS Church (Eph. 5:27) and Christ the HEAD of that Church (Eph. 1:22; 4:15; Col. 1:18)

5. The MELCHIZEDEK PRIESTHOOD (Heb. 7).

6. The FULLNESS of Sonship, Maturity, and Inheritance (Rom 8)

7. The FEAST OF TABERNACLES (Day of Atonement).

Lesson 52The Ark of the Covenant and the Mercy Seat – Part II

The Importance of the Ark of the Covenant:

1. The Ark and the Mercy Seat were considered as ONE piece of furniture.

2. The Ark was the most important piece of furniture because it was the FIRST piece made.

3. The Ark was the ONLY piece of furniture in the Holy of Holies.

4. The Atonement blood was sprinkled upon the Mercy Seat. (Lev. 16).

5. God spoke to Moses and Aaron from the Ark. (Lev. 1:1).

6. All other pieces of furniture were subordinate to the Ark of the Lord.

7. The Ark and all it contains represent the HOLINESS of God.

8. The Ark was the only piece of furniture to inhabit THREE different Tabernacles or Sanctuaries (Ex. 25:10-22; I Chr. 16:1; I Kg. 8:9).

9. The Ark is referred to about 185 times in the Old Testament.

10. NOTE the importance of the Ark and Mercy Seat as seen in:

a. Its many names given belowb. The brief history given below.

The Names of the Ark of the Covenant:

1. The Ark of Shittim Wood (Ex. 25:10) – Fullness of the Godhead BODILY.2. The Ark of the Testimony (Ex. 25:22) – Witness of God.3. The Ark of the Covenant of the Lord (Num. 10:33) – Relationship with God.4. The Ark of the Covenant of the Lord of all the earth (Josh. 3:11) – Over ALL enemies.5. 2. The PRESENCE OF GOD in Christ, by the Spirit in the midst of the Redeemed.3. The GLORY OF GOD revealed in divine order, worship, and ministry.4. The FULLNESS OF THE GODHEAD BODILY revealed in Jesus Christ (Col. 1:19; 2:9).5. The ENTHRONED Jesus as KING OF KINGS-The VICTORY of Jesus Christ (Rev.3:21).6. The GLORIOUS CHURCH in PERFECTION (MATURITY).7. The MELCHIZEDEK PRIESTHOOD MINISTRY of Christ the Head and Body.

A Brief History of the Ark as Revealed in Scripture:

1. At Sinai:A. Built according to Divine purpose and pattern (Ex. 25:10-22).B. Built by the enablement of the Spirit in wisdom (Ex. 35:31-36:3).C. Made by Bazaleel (Ex. 37:1-9).D. Anointed with the holy oil (Ex. 30:26; 40:9; Acts 10:38).E. Coverings of the Ark pervious to the march (Num. 4:5-6).F. The ordinary place of the Ark in the march was in the MIDST of Israel (6 tribes, the

Ark, 6 tribes) (Num. 2:17; 10:14-28; Mt. 18:20; Rev. 1:13).

2. In The Wilderness:A. The Ark leads the way (Num. 10:29-36) – God doesn’t need man’s eyes.B. Presuming to fight without the Ark is sure defeat (Num. 14:44-45).C. Aaron’s rod laid up before it (Num. 17:10) – His resurrection.D. Sent into battle with Phineas (“holy instruments” of Num. 31:6).E. Book of the Law placed inside it (Deut. 31:9-26).

3. In The Land:A. The Ark divides Jordan (Josh. 3-4). Jesus Christ conquered death and opened the

“land” of Eph. 1:3. The Church will possess in His victory 2000 years (compare the 2000 cubits of Josh. 3:4) later.

B. The walls of Jericho fall down before the Ark (Josh. 6). – Warfare.C. Israel defeated at Ai. Joshua falls on the earth before the Ark. God directs him to

Achan (Josh. 7), God knows and gives every answer.D. The people GATHERED INTO the Ark at Ebal and Gerizim (Josh. 8), we are

gathering together unto Christ (compare Deut. 27:11-26).E. The subsequent history of the Ark involves many different places over a lengthy span

of Israel’s history. Without exhausting the references, a brief summary of that history is given immediately below.

4. The Subsequent History of the Ark:A. SHILOH: The Tabernacle was moved to Shiloh, and formally set up there (Josh. 18-

19). The Bible mentions the Ark at this place also (Judg. 21:2, 13, 19; I Sam. 1:1; 3:3, 21).

B. The Ark is stolen by the Philistines and eventually sent back on a NEW CART (I Sam. 4-7). The result of Eli’s system. The Ark’s victory over the Philistine God Dagon pictures the three days Jesus spent in the domain of Satan and His coming forth in VICTORY.

C. KIRJATH-JEARIM: The Ark is taken to Kirjath-jearim and remains for 20 years. It was fetched out of the house of Abinadab by David (I Sam. 6:21; 7:1-2; 14:16-18).

49

Page 50: 24184137 Tabernacle of Moses II

GIBI Course- Tabernacle of Moses II

D. The Ark is RESTORED by David (II Sam. 6; I Chr. 13-15).1) First attempt is made after the FLESH

a) NEW CART – Wrong means – Imitated the PHILISTINESb) Uzzah (“strength”) and Ahio (“brotherly” – deception)c) Oxen driven and whipped – Organizational “machinery”d) FLESHLY worship and rejoicing (Jn. 4:23-24)e) Oxen stumble – Ark tips because it is OUT OF BALANCEf) Uzzah is SMITTEN at the THRESHONG floor

2) Second attempt is made after the SPIRIT (“due order”)a) Followed God’s patternb) Ark carried by God ordained priesthoodc) Staves – a PLURAL ministryd) EIGHT priests and Levites (I Chr. 15:11) – A NEW DAYe) God honors the SPIRITUAL worship and rejoicingf) Placed in the Tabernacle of David (I Chr. 16:1)

E. The Ark is borne from Mt. Zion to its PERMANENT resting place in a TEMPLE OF STONES built by Solomon on Mt. Moriah (I Kg. 8).

The staves are drawn out as the Ark has come to its final RESTING place. This speaks of the eternal GLORY of the Church, a habitation of LIVING STONES – I Pet. 2:5; Eph. 2:19-22; Ps. 102:13-16; I Kg. 6:7.

1) NO rod in it. Ministries of Eph. 4:11 is no longer needed, for the Church is mature (Compare I Cor. 13:9-13).

2) NO manna in it. For then we will have ALL THINGS. This HIDDEN MANNA of Rev. 2:17 has been eaten by the OVERCOMER. (See notes on MANNA in an upcoming lesson).

3) TWO TABLES in it. The Law (Nature of God) and WORD are eternal.

Lesson 53The Ark of the Covenant and the Mercy Seat – Part III

Other Information Concerning the Ark:

1. Ex. 25:10 – The FIRST mention of the Ark in the Old Testament2. Jer. 3:14-17 – The LAST mention of the Ark in the Old Testament3. Rev. 11:19 – The last mention of the Ark in the Bible (In heaven)4. The Old Testament mentions THREE Arks. All three Arks speak of DELIVERANCE and

PRESERVATION.A. The Ark of Noah (Gen. 6:13-9:18)B. The Ark of Moses (Ex. 2:3-6)C. The Ark of the Covenant (Ex. 25:10-22)

5. The Hebrew word for Ark used in reference to Noah and Moses is “tebah” and means “box, chest, vessel, ark”. The word used for Ark in reference to the Ark of the Covenant is “arown” and means “chest or ark”. The same word “arown” is used in Gen. 50:26 in regard to the “coffin” of Joseph, and also in 2 Kg. 12:10-11 it is used in reference to a money chest.

6. The Ark on the march (Num. 4:4-6)A. It was covered with the VEIL. The veil of Christ’s flesh (Heb. 10:20)B. It was covered with BADGER’S SKINS. There is no natural beauty to the truths of

the Ark (Is. 52:14)C. It was covered with a CLOTH OF BLUE. The Lord from heaven (I Cor. 15:47).

Heavenly truths of the Ark.

Description and Typology of the Ark of the Covenant:

1. The Ark was placed in the Holy of Holies on an earthen floor. See previous notes concerning this realm: the 1000 year realm of Rev. 20:1-6. The EARTHEN floor denotes that:A. The truths of this inmost realm will be experienced in the EARTHB. The EARTH will be filled with the GLORY of the Lord (Hab. 2:14; Num. 14:21)

2. It was an oblong shaped box or chest that measured 2 ½ cu. (3 ft. 9 in.) by 1 ½ cu. (2 ft. 3 in.) by 1/1/2 cu. High. The Ark was not elaborate. God’s GLORY needs NO enhancement. The HALF the HEIGHT of the Ark was 1 ½ cu., the same height as:A. The Table of ShewbreadB. The grate of the Brazen Altar

This means that man comes to the blood of the Cross that he might come to the Mercy Seat and the Table of Communion. The circumference of the END of the Ark was 4 x 1 ½ = 6, and the circumference of the TOP of the Ark was 2 x 2 ½ + 2 x 1 ½ = 8. This denotes ONE NEW MAN. Other numerical combinations can be derived, but this will suffice.

3. It was made of shittim wood and overlaid with gold within and without. TWO materials in ONE Ark, TWO natures in ONE Person. The HUMANITY (wood) and DIVINITY (gold) of Christ and the GLORIFIED REDEEMED. NO wood was seen in the Ark (It was covered completely with gold): “IN CHRIST” (also see Ps. 45:13).

51

Page 52: 24184137 Tabernacle of Moses II

GIBI Course- Tabernacle of Moses II

The wood overlaid with gold WITHIN and WITHOUT produced a THREE layered Ark, gold, wood (central), gold. GOLD is symbolic of the Three Persons of the Godhead (Together – The “fullness of the Godhead bodily”):A. The Gold WITHOUT – THE FATHER, Creator of the universeB. The Gold WITHIN – THE HOLY SPIRIT Who dwells withinC. The CENTRAL wood – THE SON, crucified “in the MIDST” (Jn 19:18)

4. It had a crown of gold (ornamental trim)

Three pieces of furniture were CROWNED:A. The ArkB. The Golden AltarC. The Table of Shewbread

The CROWN speaks of the KINGSHIP of Christ the Head and Body (Heb. 2:9). Concerning the CROWNED Jesus, see Mt. 2:2; Jn. 19:14; Ps. 220:1; 2:6; Heb. 12:22-23; Rev. 19:11-21. Christ is the KING Priest over the Church. The crown also BEAUTIFIED the Ark: the BEAUTY of Jesus (Son. 5:16). The crown was also a SECURITY, for it held the Mercy Seat (LID) in place: if we abide in Him, God’s MERCY is eternally SECURED for us. The crown CIRCLED the Mercy Seat: God’s ENDURING mercy.

The word “CROWN” in Hebrew and Greek means “a CHAPLET: or “WREATH” and refers to the VICTOR’S CROWN (I Cor. 924: Gal. 5:7; Phil 2:16; Heb. 12:1).

5. It had four rings of gold and two staves of shittim wood overlaid with gold. There are many thoughts connected with the FOUR rings:A. UNIVERSAL Lordship, victory, mercy, ministry of Jesus ChristB. The 100 FOLD will come from the FOUR corners of the earth (Heb. 2:9-13)C. The FOUR Gospels who tell of the risen ChristD. The Gospel of the Kingdom to the FOUR corners (Acts 1:18)E. The MELCHIZEDEK PRIESTHOOD will minister to the WORLDF. The FOUR descriptions of God in the Bible: LIGHT, SPIRIT, LOVE, A

CONSUMING FIRE (I Jn. 1:5; Jn. 4:24; I Jn. 4:16; Heb. 12:29)

There are many thoughts connected with the TWO staves:A. Here again we have the blending of the TWO natures on ONE PersonB. The Ark was made to be carried by a PLURAL MINISTRY (FOUR PRIESTS)C. There is universal, worldwide MOVEMENT of the Ark and its truthsD. The GOLD shows that this MOVE is of DIVINE originE. The staves kept the Ark in BALANCE. We must keep the truths connected with the

Ark in BALANCE with the rest of the Tabernacle.F. The staves were to remain in the Ark until it came to its final resting place (See

previous notes on the Ark’s history). We are MOVING closer and closer to the time when we shall DWELL in the land of Canaan (The Kingdom realm, the promise of the FULLNESS of God).

As we move with the Ark, the following things are increasing:1) The REVELATION of Christ’s VICTORY

52

Page 53: 24184137 Tabernacle of Moses II

GIBI Course- Tabernacle of Moses II

2) The REVELATION of Christ’s MERCY3) The REVELATION of Christ’s LORDSHIP4) The REVELATION of the truths of the Holy of Holies

6. The contents of the Ark (Heb. 9:4-5):A. The Tables of the Law (The second unbroken set – Ex. 32:19)B. The Golden Pot of MannaC. The Rod of Aaron that Budded

(See the in-depth study of the contents of the Ark in the next lesson)

7. We will discuss the description and typology of the Mercy Seat in a future lesson.

53

Lesson 54The Ark of the Covenant and the Mercy Seat – Part IV

The Contents of the Ark of the Covenant – Part I: (Heb. 9:4-5)

Many truths are represented by the contents of the Ark:

1. The contents are typical of the GODHEAD: (THREE articles in ONE Ark)A. The Tables of the Law – THE FATHER, the powerful LawgiverB. The Golden Pot of Manna – THE SON, the Bread of Life (Jn. 6:48-56)C. The Rod that Budded – THE HOLY SPIRIT, bearing fruit and life

2. The inside of the Ark represents the BOSOM and the HEART of God. Jesus came from the BOSOM of God (Jn. 1:18) and is seen in the three articles.

3. The contents represent the FULLNESS of the Godhead BODILY which dwelled in Christ.

4. All of this FULLNESS is to be likewise manifested in the Church, which is the Body of Christ (Eph. 1:22-23; 3:17-21).

5. The THREE articles can also be seen in Jn. 14:6 where Jesus is:

A. THE WAY – The Two Tables of the LawB. THE TRUTH – The Golden Pot of MannaC. THE LIFE – The Rod of Aaron that Budded

The Two Tables of the Law (the tables of the COVENANT in Heb. 9:4)

1. In Israel there were THREE aspects of the Law

A. The Moral Law:1) The Ten Commandments which were written on Tables of Stone2) Given three times

a) Given orally to the nation at Sinai (Ex. 19-20; Deut. 4-5; Heb. 12:18-20)

b) Written by the finger of God on two Tables of Stone as seen in Ex. 31:18; 32:16

c) Written a second time on stone and placed in the Ark by Moses (Ex. 34:1-4; Deut. 10:1-5)

B. The Civil Law:1) Commonly referred to as the Book of the Law2) These laws were an amplification of the Moral Law3) It applied the Moral Law to specific situation4) These were written in a Book and placed beside the Ark (NASV & Amp.

Bible) (Deut. 31:24-26)

54

Page 55: 24184137 Tabernacle of Moses II

GIBI Course- Tabernacle of Moses II

C. The Ceremonial Law:1) This law had to do with all the regulations in regard to:

a) Sacrificial bloodb) The Priesthoodc) The service of the sanctuaryd) The Feasts of the Lorde) The Sabbaths

2) These laws are covered in Ex. 25-40 and Lev. 1-17

2. The Two Tables of the Law speak of Jesus Christ:A. All the Law was perfectly kept and fulfilled in ChristB. Note His ABSOLUTE RIGHTEOUSNESS and PERFECT OBEDIENCEC. Christ is the Lawgiver in the Sermon on the Mount (Mt. 5-7). He calls us to a higher

law of love and of the spirit which is written by the Holy Spirit upon the fleshly tables of the heart (Jer. 31:31-14; II Cor. 3; Heb. 8; Rom. 8:1-4)

D. Christ completely did the WILL of the Father (Jn. 5:30; 8:29)E. All judgement of the Law is given over to Christ (Jn. 5:22)F. The Tables of the COVENANT speak of the relationship between the Father and the

Firstborn Son (Heb. 13:20; 4:6; 7:17-22)G. See Ps. 40:7-8; Is. 45:21; Ps. 1:1-2; Mt. 22:36-40; 5:14; Rom. 10:4; Ex. 24:7

3. The TWO Tables of the Law also speak of Christ in the FULLNESS of His BODY. The 100 FOLD will walk in His absolute righteousness and perfect obedience. Their FULL Covenant obedience will result in their FULL Covenant blessing. They will walk in His PERFECT WILL (Rom. 12:2) and share in the administration of His JUDGEMENT (I Cor. 6:1-3).

4. The Two Tables were also a MEMORIAL of Israel’s disobedience with idols (Deut. 31:26-27; Ex. 32:19). NOTE that the broken law condemns the sinner (Rom. 3:19-20; Gal. 3:10; Js. 2:10; I Sam. 6:19-21)

Lesson 55The Ark of the Covenant and the Mercy Seat – Part V

The Contents of the Ark of the Covenant – Part I: (Heb. 9:4-5)

The Golden Pot of Manna (Heb. 9:4)

1. The Golden Pot of Manna speaks of Jesus ChristA. The nature, character, and sustaining power of Jesus Christ as the BREAD of Life (Jn.

6). GOLDEN = DIVINE, Bread from HeavenB. He is the TRUE MANNA. All must eat of Him of die. No one can eat for another.

Christ is the source of LIFE and strength.C. Jesus is our COMPLETE PROVISION. He is our SUPERNATURAL SUPPLY and

our ALL SUFFICIENT Lord (Phil. 4:19; Mt. 6:11)

2. The manna in the Ark is the HIDDEN MANNA of Rev. 2:17 and shows:A. The OVERCOMER will press beyond the Veil and partake of this MANNA,

conformed to the IMAGE of the Firstborn Son Jesus, experiencing:1) His nature2) His character3) His sustaining power

B. This food is “MEAT OG THE FULL” (Ps. 78:25) (“bread of the mighty”)C. The pot contained an OMER. Portion for ONE MAN, for “HE that overcometh”

(Eph. 2:15; 4:24; Ex. 16:32-34)D. This 100 FOLD company will experience FULL SUPERNATURAL SUPPLYE. These OVERCOMERS have pressed out of the Holy Place, wherein is the “children’s

bread” of DIVINE HEALING at the Table, and have moved beyond the Veil into the DIVINE LIFE of the risen Christ.

3. The NAMES of the manna:A. Hebrew = “What is it?”

Chaldean = “It is a portion”B. God’s manna (Neh. 9:20)C. Bread FROM Heaven (Ex. 16:4)D. Bread OF Heaven (Ps. 105:40)E. Corn of heaven (Ps. 78:24)F. Angel’s food (Ps. 78:25)G. Spiritual meat (I Cor. 10:3)

4. The DESCRIPTION of the manna: (Describes Christ the Head and Body) in Jn. 6; I Cor. 10:17.A. Small (Ex. 16:16) – Humility (Phil 2:7)B. Round (Ex. 16:14) – Perfect (Jn. 1:14)C. White (Ex.16:31) – Holy (Heb. 7:26)D. Hoar frost (Ex. 16:14 – Fresh (Jn. 6:63)E. Coriander seed (Ex. 16-13 – Fragrance (Song. 1:3)

F. Honey (Ex. 16:31 – Sweet (Song. 2:3)G. Taste of fresh oil (Num. 11:8) – Authority (Jn. 3:34)H. Color of bdellium (Num. 11:7) – Precious (1 Pet. 2:7)I. Dew on and under it (Num. 11:9) – Holy Spirit (Jn. 6:63)J. The portion was:

1) Suitable2) Sufficient3) Satisfying4) Sustaining5) Sure6) Strengthening

5. The INSTRUCTIONS for gathering the manna (Ex. 16:16-26)A. Gathered by the man – the HEAD of the houseB. Gathered according to appetiteC. Gathered an omer for every manD. Gathered so that there was no surplus and no lackE. Gathered it every day and did not leave anything overF. Gathered twice as much on the sixth dayG. Gathered none on the Sabbath

6. Other points to remember concerning the manna:A. Once Israel entered Canaan, the manna ceased (Josh 5:11-12). A change of diet for

CONQUERORS, from MILK to CORN (MEAT).B. There was no manna in the Ark when it was placed in Solomon’s Temple (I Kg. 8:9).

When God’s Temple is brought together in glory, the manna has been consumed by “he that overcometh”. This “HIDDEN MANNA” and all that it represents will then be ministered to the nations.

C. The manna fell after the evening dew (Num. 11:9). Christ will return as the Bread from heaven after the Day of the Lord (after the latter rain in the evening of this age).

D. Melted away by the sun (Ex. 16:21). Yesterday’s portion, bread, revelation, strength, and supply will NOT suffice in a NEW DAY.

7. The Golden Pot of Manna was also a MEMORIAL of Israel’s murmurings (Ex. 16:1-3; Num. 21:5-6).

Lesson 56The Ark of the Covenant and the Mercy Seat – Part VI

The Contents of the Ark of the Covenant – Part III: (Heb. 9:4-5)

The Rod of Aaron That Budded (Heb. 9:4) Read Num. 12, 16-17)

1. The Rod of Aaron that Budded speaks of Jesus Christ:A. The rod coming to life represents Christ’s RESURRECTION.B. The Resurrection proves that Christ, like Aaron, is God’s CHOSEN High Priest after

the order of Melchizedek (Heb. 7).C. The Rod budded into an ALMOND plant, which is a FIRSTFRUITS plant. The

Hebrew word for almond is “WAKEFUL” of “HASTENER”. Jesus Christ was:1) The FIRSTFRUITS from the dead (I Cor. 15)2) The FIRSTBORN Son (Rom. 8:29)

D. The Rod apparently budded in the MORNING. His Resurrection MORNING brought a NEW DAY in God.

2. The Rod of Aaron that Budded speaks of a FIRSTFRUITS company:A. This company is ENERGIZED by the “power of an endless life” (Heb. 7:16). By the

RESURRECTION life and power of Jesus.B. Jesus is the High Priest after the order of Melchizedek of the tribe of JUDAH (Heb.

7:14). This Melchizedek Priesthood of PRAISERS have become PROPHETS, PRIESTS, and KINGS like their Head and will have moved into His realm of the UNLIMITED, ETERNAL, UNIVERSAL, PERFECTION.

C. This 100 FOLD company are the FIRSTFRUITS unto God and the Lamb (Rev. 14:1-5; Jn. 1:18; Rom. 11:16).

D. This company, like the BRANCE out of the central shaft of the Candlestick, spring out of the LOINS of Jesus Christ and are His SEED (Compare the relationship that Aaron, the High Priest, had with his SEED, the priests) (Is. 53:2; Heb. 2:13; Is. 6:13; Is. 53:10; Ps. 22:30 and other Scriptures depict the 42nd GENERATION of Mt. 1:1-17, the GENERATION of Jesus Christ).

E. The Rod is the EMBLEM of God’s CHOSEN Priesthood (I Pet. 2:9).F. The concept of the ROD presents many thoughts:

1) The ROD which is the SCEPTRE of a KINGDOM – AUTHORITY2) The ROD of the SHEPHERD by which he GOVERNED the flock3) A ROD is also a BRANCH (Compare the notes of the lampstand)4) The ROD of MOSES, who in type pictures Jesus CHRIST AND the 100

FOLD (Ex. 4:2; 4:17, 20; 7:19; 8:16; 9:23; 10:13; 14:16; 17:5, 9). It is suggested that the student trace the life of Moses to learn how God is NOW preparing and training an end time MOSES ministry of DELIVERANCE.

5) The ROD of the MANCHILD, or “HE THAT OVERCOMETH” (Rev. 2:26-29; 12:1-5) which shall press beyond the VEIL and then ROAR out of ZION in HIGH PRIESTLY MINISTRY (Joel 3:16).

G. This FIRSTFRUITS company of overcoming sons are PIONEERS into the unseen realm of the Spirit and IMMORTALITY and LIFE.

H. The Rod budding in the MORNING speaks of the NEW DAY and the NEW AGE which these overcomers shall usher in.

Lesson 57The Ark of the Covenant and the Mercy Seat – Part VII

The Meaning of the Mercy Seat: (SEAT = The place where God SAT, or His THRONE)

1. A place of:A. HolinessB. JusticeC. RighteousnessD. AtonementE. PropitiationF. ReconciliationG. The Glory of GodH. MEETING (Ps. 85:9-10; Ex. 25:22; Num. 7:89). Where God meets man in Christ.

Communion. NOTE the APPEARANCE of God in a CLOUD.I. REST (Ps. 61:4; 63:7; Mt. 11:28-30; Heb. 3 and 4). The FATHER and the

FIRSTBORN SON have entered into REST (Heb. 4:10). Some MUST enter in to obtain the PRIZE (Heb. 4:1-11; Rev. 3:21; I Cor. 9:24-27).

J. MERCY (Heb. 4:16). The BLOOD of Jesus Christ has transformed the Throne of JUDGEMENT into a Throne of GRACE.

2. A place where God recorded His NAME (2 Sam. 6:1-2).

Description and Typology of the Mercy Seat (Ex. 25:17-22)

1. It was the lid of the Ark of the Covenant. It completed the Ark and the two together were considered as one piece of furniture. Refer to the previous section on the MEANING of the Mercy Seat.

Again, we stress that the Mercy Seat was:

A. Where God SAT = His THRONE = ZION (2 Sam. 6:2; Ps. 99:1; 80:1)B. Where God MET, communed, and manifested Himself to Moses (Ex. 25:22)C. Where the Father and SON sit and REST after their FINISHED WORK. The Lord

Jesus SAT DOWN on the right hand of God (Heb. 4:1-11; 8:1-3; 10:11-12; 12:1-2; Rev. 22:1; 3:21; Ps. 110:1; Mk. 16:19; Jn. 19:30).

D. Where there was made a COMPLETE, ONCE-FOR-ALL Atonement by the BLOOD of the Lord Jesus. NOTE that the blood of bulls and goats was:1) Sprinkled UPON the Mercy Seat ONCE2) Sprinkled BEFORE the Mercy Seat SEVEN TIMES (COMPLETENESS)

2. It acted as a covering for the contents of the Ark:

The blood stained Mercy Seat COVERED the two Tables of the LAW. The exposing of the Law as seen in I Sam. 6:19-10 without the BLOOD COVERING brought into operation a ministration of DEATH (Rom. 8:2).

60

Page 61: 24184137 Tabernacle of Moses II

GIBI Course- Tabernacle of Moses II

This lid for the Ark acted as a COVERING. The Hebrew word for MERCY SEAT means “TO ATONE, COVERING, PROPITIATION” (for sin).

The Mercy Seat COVERED Israel’s SINS of:a. Idolatryb. Murmuringc. Rebellion

Compare the notes on the contents of the Ark. This covering fitted PERFECTLY inside the crown. The PERFECT, COMPLETE, and IMMOVABLE Atonement of Jesus Christ.

3. It was a slab of pure gold that measured 2 ½ cu. (3 ft. 9 in.) x 1 ½ cu. (2 ft. 3 in.).

The Mercy Seat was a PURE slab. The Lord was PURE, being TRIED BY FIRE, that He might provide a PURE Atonement made possible by PURE grace (PURE means NO alloy = nothing human).

It was also made of GOLD. The DIVINE nature of the truths connected with the Mercy Seat.

The HALF (1/2) of its dimensions are seen in I Kg. 10:7; II Chr. 9:6.

The CIRCUMFERENCE of the Mercy Seat was 2 ½ + 2 ½ + 1/12/ + 1 ½ = 8. Christ’s Atonement was made valid by His RESURRECTION.

The width of the Mercy Seat was 1 ½ cu. And it was 1 ½ cu. Above the earth. The same height as the grate of the Brazen Altar and the Table of Shewbread (Compare previous notes).

The slab of gold rested BETWEEN the Cherubim ABOVE and the contents of the ARK BELOW. Our Mercy Seat, the Lord Jesus is the ONE MEDIATOR between the redeemed (The Cherubim – see next lesson) and the heart of God (as pictured in the contents of the Ark – see previous notes).

4. There were two cherubim of gold in union with it. See the in-depth study on the Cherubim in the next lesson.

Definition of the Term “Propitiation”.

1. The term “PROPITIATION” means “TO APPEASE, MAKE SATISFACTION, PLACATE, or RENDER FAVORABLE” (NOTE this concept at the Brazen Altar).

2. Jesus Christ appeased the righteous wrath of a holy God by offering His atoning sacrifice at Calvary. The death of Christ appeased Divine justice and affected reconciliation between God and man.

3. Jesus becomes man’s propitiation through FAITH in His BLOOD (Rom. 3:25).

4. The Greek word for “PROPITIATION” in Rom. 3:25 and the Greek word for “MERCY SEAT” in Heb. 9:5 are the SAME word (Also see I Jn. 2:2; 4:10).

61

Page 62: 24184137 Tabernacle of Moses II

GIBI Course- Tabernacle of Moses II

5. In the Tabernacle we see a blending of the JUDGEMENT SEAT (Brazen Altar) and the MERCY SEAT (Ps. 101:1; 85:10; 86:5, 13, 15; Js. 2:13).

6. The Throne of JUDGEMENT has become a Throne of GRACE (Heb. 4:14-16.

62

Page 63: 24184137 Tabernacle of Moses II

Lesson 58The Ark of the Covenant and the Mercy Seat – Part VIII

An In-Depth Study on the Cherubim:

1. The traditional concept of the Cherubim is that they are an order of ANGELS which cover and guard the Throne of God.

However, the Cherubim here were in UNION with or one with the Mercy Seat. Angels are NOT one with Jesus. In addition, it is speculation and not revelation which takes the Scriptures regarding the Cherubim and asserts that they are an order of angels. Therefore, “the cherubim of GLORY” (Heb. 9:5) must refer to something else other than angels.

2. Some believe the Cherubim to represent the GODHEAD at the Mercy Seat. One cherub would represent the Father, the other cherub would represent the Holy Spirit, and the Mercy Seat would represent Jesus.

3. Many liken the Cherubim to the GLORIFIED REDEEMED and the “HE THAT OVERCOMETH”. By considering the Bible evidence given below, the Cherubim CHARACTERIZE the Sons of God in glory.

4. Some general points concerning the Cherubim as the Redeemed:

A. TWO Cherubim, Jesus Christ in the fullness of His BODY

B. The Cherubim were ONE with the Mercy Seat. The Redeemed are in UNION with Jesus Christ. (Compare the VINE and BRANCHES at the Candlestick) (Heb. 2:11). In Greek “…are out of ONE SOURCE…”

C. The Cherubim are seen in the TWO armies of Song of Sol. 6:13, which can be likened to the OVERCOMERS of the Old Testament and the New Testament. The blood on the Mercy Seat was BETWEEN the Cherubim as they looked at each other and the blood, just as the blood of Calvary’s CROSS was between the Old Testament saints as they looked AHEAD to the Cross and the New Testament Saints who looked BACK to the Cross.

D. The Cherubim were UPHELD by the Mercy Seat. Upheld by Christ.

E. The Cherubim are always seen in connection with the THRONE of God displaying judicial AUTHORITY. They represent “HE THAT OVERCOMETH” who shall RULE with Jesus Christ (Rev. 3:21).

5. The DESCRIPTION of the Cherubim found in Ezek. 1 and 10:

A. Ezekiel saw a vision of the GLORY OF GOD and the THRONE OF GOD IN MOTION. The root word for Cherubim means “TO RIDE” denoting God going forth in government and justice (Ps. 18:10; 68:4). God’s Throne is often pictured in

63

Page 64: 24184137 Tabernacle of Moses II

GIBI Course- Tabernacle of Moses II

connection with HORSES (OVERCOMERS) and CHARIOTS (Gen. 41:43; Esth. 6:8-9; Is. 19:1). Thus, the Cherubim can also be likened to HORSES or EAGLES as in Hab. 1:8.

B. A verse-by-verse study of Ezek. 1:

Vs. 1 30th year (MATURITY) and open heaven. The ADOPTION

Vs. 4 Whirlwind (Is. 40:6-7; 66:16; Acts 2:2)North = JudgementFire “kindled” itselfAmber = Highest possible splendor

Vs. 5 Four living creatures (Rev. 4 and 5)Likeness of Christ

Vs. 7 Straight walkPolished brass = Judgement

Vs. 8-9, 11-12 Wings stretched up and touched each other in PraiseCovered = AtonementLed by the Spirit

Vs. 10 MAN (intelligence; maturity)LION (kingship; boldness; Judah)OX (patience; strength)EAGLE (overcomers)

Vs. 13-14 Lamps, fire, lightning – BRANCH of the Candlestick

Vs. 18 Beryl – Color of DAN’S stone = JUDGEMENT

Vs. 24-25 Moved and spoke as the VOICE of God

Many other points could be mentioned here. Compare the four LIVING CREATURES of Rev. 4-5 who are pictured IN the Throne (as KINGS) and AROUND the Throne (as PRIESTS).

The Feast of Tabernacles: or Booths or IngatheringThe HARVEST FEAST of the 7th month (PERFECTION)

1. TRUMPETS (Lev. 23:34-35; Num. 10:1-10; Neh. 8)A. On the FIRST day of the SEVENTH month. To announce the feast of REST and the

great HARVEST to follow (FRUIT of the Spirit and souls)B. TWO trumpets of SILVER blown by PRIESTS. Blown by the redeemed.C. TRUMPET: a CLEAR Word from God, a MESSAGE, PROPHECY (I Cor. 14:8)D. FOUR messages of the TRUMPETS:

1) CALLING THE ASSEMBLY Num. 10:2; Eph. 1:10; Heb. 13:11-142) JOURNEYINGS OF THE CAMPS Num. 10:3-6; Josh. 1:2; Phil. 3:14; Pr.

4:18; II Kg. 2:6-8. MOVE ON to the Feast of Tabernacles.3) PREPARATION OF THE PEOPLE FOR WAR Num. 10:9; Gen. 3:15; Lk.

10:18; Rom. 16:20; Eph. 6:10-18; Rev. 12; Heb. 1:13; 10:12-13.4) ANNOUNCING THE CELEBRATION OF THE FEASTS Num. 10:10; Joel 2

2. DAY OF ATONEMENT (Lev. 16; 23:27-32)A. On the TENTH day of the SEVENTH month. Compare the notes already given at the

Golden Altar on the left and right hands of ministryB. There will be an EXPERIENTIAL deliverance from sin for the people of God as seen

in Lev. 16:29-31; Mt. 5:48; Jn. 17:21-23; Rom. 6:4-11; Rom. 8:2; Gal. 5:24; I Jn. 3:3, 6-7, 9.

C. TWO goats taken = Complete identification in Christ’s CrossD. On this Day Aaron entered in BEYOND THE VEIL. Note the various truths of the

Melchizedek Priesthood (Heb. 6:20; 10:19-22), the UNVEILING of the Sons of God (Rom. 8:19; Jn. 7:14; Rev. 12:1-5).

E. The JUBILEE TRUMPET sounded on this same day – See notes given below.

3. FEAST OF TABERNACLES (Ex. 23:16; Lev. 23:34-44; Deut. 16:13-16)A. On the FIFTEENTH day of the SEVENTH month – a Feast of RESTB. Seven points which describe this Feast:

1) Feast of UNITY Left all and came together (II Chr. 5:3)

2) Feast of JOY Ps. 126; Is. 65:18-19. Contrast the slight of Babylon in Rev. 18:2-5; Ps. 137; Joel 1:10-12.

3) Feast of INGATHERINGThe HARVEST which the latter rain has brought to maturity (Js. 5:7; Hos. 6:1-3. The FULLNESS of Pentecost

4) Feast of RESTHeb. 4:1-9. Pentecost is only the EARNEST of the INHERITANCE (LAND) Num. 13:10; Eph. 1:13-14.

5) Fest of GLORY

65

GIBI Course- Tabernacle of Moses II

Change of PRIESTHOODS. From I Sam. 4:21 to the Melchizedek Priesthood (Is. 60; Jn. 17)

6) Feast of RESTORATIONActs 3:19-21; Ezra; Nehemian; Esther

7) Feast of HIS APPEARINGGod appeared in the CLOUD of GLORY

The Year of Jubilee (Lev. 25:1-55; 27:17-24)

1. The “acceptable year” (Is. 61:2) and “the year of liberty” (Ezek. 46:17)

2. Every FIFTIETH (50th ) year:

A. All men were freeB. All prison doors were openC. All slaves were releasedD. All returned to his inheritance

3. These points refer to MAN being DELIVERED from the CURSE and returning to the GLORY of the FIRST ADAM plus much more (Acts 3:19-21; Is. 58:6-12)

4. The JUBILEE TRUMPET was blown on the TENTH DAY of the SEVENTH MONTH the same day that Aaron went BEYOND THE VEIL. There will be no release from corruption and death for humanity and creation UNTIL a body of overcoming saints follow Jesus into the Holy of Holies. Then from behind the Veil shall come a High Priestly company to minister deliverance to the earth.

5. In 6000 years there are 120 “Jubilee years” (trumpets) (II Chr. 5:12; Acts 1:15). 119 have passed, and the next brings the consummation.
