Dunlap Bennett & Ludwig hosted Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) representative and former wounded warrior, Beth Schmidt, at their Leesburg location to present a donation from the firm. The funds for the donation were raised last month, when the firm hosted a cocktail party to benefit and promote WWP, pledging a donation for every guest in attendance. Held in Washington, DC on the first day of the 2019 AUSA Annual Meeting & Exposition, the event had high attendance, with a crowd of government and cybersecurity thought leaders and experts attending to show their support for our military heroes.
Over 55 experts from the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the Department of Defense (DoD), CYBERCOM, Intelligence Community (IC), Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and notable cybersecurity groups came together at LMI’s headquarters to discuss increasing concerns in the realm of cyberattacks, data breaches, and identity theft. This collaborative effort between Dunlap Bennett & Ludwig and LMI focused on key policies and solutions to prevent and mitigate crippling damage to individuals, corporations, and government institutions.
Government and cybersecurity experts and thought leaders came together at Engine Co. 12 to support military veterans during Dunlap Bennett & Ludwig’s exclusive cocktail party benefitting the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP)®. The event was held on the first day of the 2019 AUSA Annual Meeting & Exposition, and featured speaker Sal Gonzalez, Major General Charlie Fletcher, and the CEO of Wounded Warrior Project, Mike Linnington. In an evening filled with humor, emotion, and patriotism, guests were given the opportunity to and see how veteran-focused organizations are making a world of difference.
IAM Magazine, a publication that focuses on intellectual property from the business perspective, produced a list of the Top 10 Patent Market Developments of 2019. Among the events listed was recent settlement of Dunlap Bennett & Ludwig client, Advanced Codec Technologies (ACT), a United States licensing company or US Non-Practicing Entity (US NPE), headed by Beijing partner Erick Robinson which became one of the largest patent litigation settlements in the history of China, and certainly the highest for an NPE, with the settlement involved costs in the high seven figures (in USD).

OUR SURVEY SAYSJOB SATISFACTION“I feel like I’m appreciated here. I know that people value the work that I do here and they’re always willing to serve as mentors if you need help or direction and provide constructive criticism that helps you grow.” – Ashley Barendse
FIRM CULTURE“DBL provides many opportunities for associates to learn and grow as an attorney. My managing partner is an amazing mentor who provides challenging and interesting work and is supportive of my desire to develop and grow my own client base. DBL has even provided financial and marketing support for my business development initiatives. ” – Wright Lewis
HOURS“Workload at DBL is commensurate to each employee’s abilities, interests, and capacity. By principal, DBL only employs highly motivated and effective team members, but if you have a family or other obligations and need to leave at 5 on the dot every day, there is a place for you. If you are a new attorney chomping at the bit to learn and do as much as you possibly can, you will find no shortage of opportunities that will keep you busy, and appreciation for efforts that go above-and-beyond. It’s truly a rare gem in the legal industry!” – Jane Woodruff
QUALITY OF WORK“The firm has experience and expertise across a range of legal fields, and all can be brought to bear to meet any individual client’s specific needs.” – Bob Eatinger
TRAINING & MENTORING“DBL devotes a great deal of time and resources towards training its attorneys. There is an extensive, regularly updated internal knowledgebase with links to useful websites and copies of legal forms. Also, junior and senior attorneys work closely together to provide the junior attorneys with opportunities to try the work and senior attorneys to review, correct and offer feedback on the work.” – Alex Butterman
PRO BONO COMMITMENT“DBL offers unique pro-bono opportunities that allow me to serve a greater purpose and give my time to those most in need in our community. Pro-bono work or 'public service marks the difference between a business and a profession. While a business can afford to focus solely on profits, a profession cannot. It must devote itself first to the community it is responsible to serve. I can imagine no greater duty than fulfilling this obligation. And I can imagine no greater pleasure.' - Justice Sandra Day O’Connor.” – Ashley Miller
