Managing Your Emotions and

Making Your Decisions

Stop any unhelpful thoughts or actions that would make you more upset. Inhale deeply and exhale slowly using 10 counts as you relax your muscles. Acknowledge your emotions.

Think through the different options that are available for you. Keep things in perspective. Remember that the O-Level is just one part of your life journey and not the destination.

Approach a trusted adult and seek his/her help. Have aconversation with this person about what would be best for you.Make a decision based on your options and take action.

• If you have any concerns or are not coping, do reach out to someone you trust and speak with them. It could be a parent, teacher, school counsellor or a friend that you can talk to.

• If you experience prolonged difficulties, the Community Health Assessment Team (CHAT) provides personalised and confidential mental health checks and face-to-face consultation for youth aged 16 to 30.

• To speak with a youth support worker, you can visit CHAT Hub at *Scape, #05-05. You can also call 6493 6500/ 6501 or email [email protected].

• Alternatively, you may also call the Samaritans of Singapore’s 24 hour hotline at 1800-221-4444 to speak with someone.

instructions on how to complete your enrolment

from the respective polytechnic by post or email.

• If you are offered a place in a Higher

Nitec course, you will need to log

into www.ite.edu.sg to accept your offer

between 20 February 2020 (Thursday), 9.00am

and 24 February 2020 (Monday), 12.00pm. You

will receive a separate email from ITE with login

instructions by 20 February 2020 (Thursday).

Note: If you have previously accepted a HIgher

Nitec course offer between 4 February 2020 and 7

February 2020, and are offered a place in

another Higher Nitec course, there is no need to

accept your appeal offer as your course status will

be updated automatically. You will be able to check

your course status at www.ite.edu.sg.

Whilst appeals for a transfer to another JC can be

done after the JAE posting results are released,

students should note that their appeals are not likely

to be successful unless they meet the Cut-Off Points

of the JC course for that year’s JAE.
