Goals for Tonight

February 7th & 8th

School Counselors go to BC and WV to review course registration with current 8th graders

January 20-January 31

Teachers met with students and enter their recommendations (current 9th, 10th, & 11th graders)

February 2 – February 7

Online course registration is open for all current 8th, 9th, 10th, & 11th grade students

Timeline

February 12-February 23Each 9th, 10th, & 11th grader meets individually with their counselor to complete the course selection process. Students will receive appointment cards with the date and time they are to meet with their counselor

May 24-25Students receive list of courses for the 2018-2019 school year

June 1-15 Any course/level changes for 2018-2019 school year MUST be made during this time

Registration Instructions

Course Recommendations:

Parent Instructions

• In PowerSchool –

Under Navigation in left column, click on

“Class Registration”

• A list of the departments are on left

• A red ! indicates that it is a

required course

• A green ✔ indicates that it is an elective.

• Classes that are a requirement for the grade

level will automatically be selected

• Click on the “Pencil” icon for each subject to

see the teacher’s recommendation.

• A list of courses for the student’s

grade level will appear.

• The teacher’s recommendation will

appear on the top line.

• Click in the checkbox on the left for the course you want to register for.

• NOTE: if there are a lot of courses to select from, you may need to click on Next to view the next screen of courses.

• Click the “Okay” button

• Back at the course selection screen, you should

now see a box that displays the course that

was just selected.

• Continue this process for each course you

are registering for.

• If you need to make any changes, click on

the “Pencil” icon and follow the previous

procedures.

• At the bottom of the screen you will see “Requires

between 5.25 and 7.7 credit hours.” Make sure that

the number of credit hours you select fall between

that number.

• If you try to submit the course selections and

the credit hours fall below or above the

required amount, you will get a “Request

Submission Failed” message.

• Go back and make changes until the

credit hours falls between the 5.25 and

7.7 credit hours.

• Press the “Submit” button.

• Once you submit the course selections, you will see a window that displays the courses you selected.

A Successful Schedule

* LMSD offers a six-week summer school program that provides 2 basic opportunities for students:* Make up work – students may make up a course that

was failed during the regular school year* Advanced credit work – students may take a course for

advanced credit if they are in good academic standing* Information regarding Summer School will appear on

the district website beginning in March

Summer SchoolJune 26th – August 3rd

May 24-25 students will receive a copy of their courses for the 2018-2019 school

year

June 1- 15, 2018 is the last opportunity to request a course and/or level change for all courses for the 2018-2019 school year
