INTRODUCTION The booklet provides a summary of the activities that are available to High School students beyond the classroom at Emanuel School. Our philosophy is to encourage all students to take at least one extra-curricular activity per term. The benefits for students include learning new skills, interacting with different peers, building teamwork and broadening personal growth. The additional cost for these activities is nil, unless otherwise stated. If you would like further details about an activity, please contact the relevant organiser by email.

Description of activity: A volunteer experience working with students with disabilities. This camp is a life-changing experience for Year 12 students who demonstrate leadership skills. Description of activity: Da Vinci Decathlon is a competition which with an emphasis on higher order thinking skills, problem solving and creativity. Students work collaboratively in teams and complete tasks that encompass Mathematics and Chess, Engineering, Philosophy, Creative Producers, Code Breaking, Art and Poetry, Cartography, Science, English and general knowledge. Teams practise questions and then attend competition in May.

Description of activity: Four students go with a teacher to Creativity Inc to do an activity with students with special needs after school (except for Wednesdays where the activity is at school). The activities are designed to give students with special needs choice over their activities. This volunteering opportunity gives you the chance to understand the individual needs and likes of a group of students with disabilities and create meaningful connections with these students
