laityinmeaningfulministry,”saidbyJohnEdMathison.OurgoalatDouglas1stUMCisforeveryonetobeinvolvedwithmeaningfulministry.Everyonehasaspecialgiftset/callingthatGodhasgivenyou.Discoveringwhatitismayrequiresomeprayerandpractice.GoddoesnotnormallysendanangellikehedidwiththeVirginMaryoraBurningBushwithMoses.OftentimesGodcomeslikewithSamuel,stillsmallvoicethatcallsourname.

Duringthis4weeksseries,wewillbesolicitingyourprayers,presences,giftsandservice.Wewillbegivingeveryonea“GettingInvolved”sheettofilloutandreturntothechurchofficesothatwhenweareseekingtoimplementaministryteamwecangivethemyournameandcontactinformation.Someofyouarealreadyinvolvedandthatisgreat.Werealizeonlyabout30%ofthecongregationisfullyengagedinministryopportunities.

Wehave4majorareasofministry:NURTURE,OUTREACH,CHRISTIANEDUCATION,andWORSHIP.Everyonehopefullywilldiscoveryourplaceofservice.JustthispastmonthagroupstartedaKnitting/SewingGroupthattakesapersonwholovestoknit/sewandbeginstoofferwaysofhelpingandservingpeople.Anothergroupofourcongregationlovestodancesotheyhavestarteda“LiturgicalDance”group.Someofyouwillseektodiscoveranewministrythathasneverbeendonebefore.Getstarted!IfyouneedhelpletmeknowwhatIcando.PLEASETAKETHISASANINVITATIONFROMYOURPASTORTOGETINVOVLEDWITHSOMEMINISTRYNOW.
