In the win over Missouri, the Gamecocks hit .358 on the after-noon, their best offensive outing in SEC play. Sophomore KoKo

Atoa-Williams matched a career-high with 18 kills while hitting a career-best .515 with on attack error on 33 swings. Freshman Taylr McNeil recorded 15 kills while hitting .387, her best hitting percentage in SEC play. The Gamecocks will be back in action this weekend at LSU on Friday (8 p.m.) and at Ole Miss on Sunday (2 p.m.).

Tennessee: The Lady Vols (8-15, 1-8 SEC) broke into the win col-umn in SEC play this week, sweeping their way past Ole Miss on Sunday in Knoxville. Its only contest of the week, Tennessee used a season-best hitting percentage of .291 to top the Rebels and snap an eight-game skid dating back to the start of the conference season. Sophomore Ashley Mariani posted a match-high 11 kills for UT while true freshman Kanisha Jimenez registered her fourth double-double of the season with 10 kills and 10 digs. Jimenez is now tied with junior setter Lexi Dempsey for the team-lead in double-double efforts. Senior Shealyn Kolosky also turned in a big performance on Sunday, putting down nine kills with a career-best hitting percentage of .667, and Dempsey’s 41 assists marked her first 40+ assist performance since recording 44 against Mercer on Sept. 20. As a team, Tennessee recorded 9.0 total team blocks -- its highest three-set total of the season. Sophomore Raina Hem-bry helped lead the defensive charge at the net, combining for seven block assists on the afternoon. The Lady Vols begin the sec-ond half of SEC play next week when it faces a pair of nationally ranked opponents in two nationally televised contests. UT trav-els to Lexington on Wednesday for a midweek matchup with No. 16 Kentucky to be televised on ESPNU. There, the Lady Vols will look to even the season series after falling 3-0 to the Wildcats in Knoxville on Oct. 10. UT has dropped its last three matches in Lexington. Tennessee then returns to Thompson-Boling Arena for a Sunday meeting with No. 8 Florida on the SEC Network. Jamie Lea continues to lead UT in kills with 177 on the year, good for 2.72 per set. She is followed by freshman Kendra Turner’s 135 kills at a rate of 2.60 per frame. Dempsey paces the squad in assists at 8.12 per game while Bridgette Villano is averaging a team-best 3.29 digs per set.

Texas A&M: Texas A&M (14-6, 6-3 SEC) extended its win streak to three after going 2-0 last week, capped by 3-1 victory over 16th-ranked Kentucky on Sunday. On Friday, sophomore middle blocker Jazzmin Babers had match highs and career highs with 17 kills and 19 points while hitting .419 to pace the Aggies to a 22-25, 25-21, 29-27, 22-25, 15-8 victory over Georgia. Freshman Amy Nettles had a career-high and match-high 18 digs, leading a contingent of five A&M players to post double-figure digs as the Aggies tallied a team season-high 92. Freshman setter Stephanie Aiple tied her career high with 56 assists and added 13 digs to post her team-leading fourth double-double. Against Kentucky, freshman oppo-site hitter Ashlie Reasor had a career-high 15 kills, and Nettles, who started at libero for the first time, had a career-high 26 digs as the Aggies won, 25-22, 26-24, 17-25, 25-16, snapping a seven-match losing streak against the Wildcats. Sophomore defensive specialist Katelyn Labhart drew the first start of her career and tied her personal best with 13 digs. Babers had 10 kills with no errors in 18 attempts for a .556 hitting percentage, and Aiple had 50 assists and 11 digs for her fifth double-double. Junior middle blocker Shelby Sullivan pitched in 11 kills, marking the fourth con-secutive match both she and Babers have reached double-digit kills. The win against Kentucky marked A&M’s third top-16 victory of the season. The Aggies are on the road this weekend, taking on Alabama on Friday in Tuscaloosa and facing Missouri on Sunday in Columbia. The match against the Tigers will be televised on the SEC Network.
