boys baskeTball CampPROGRAM - August 20-24, 2012Male basketball players aged 8-14 years are invited to participate in FIVE ACTION PACKED DAYS of basketball drills and competitions.

Laurier’s Boys Basketball Summer Camp provides young athletes with the chance to improve their skills in a fun and challenging atmosphere.

Each player is given special attention with a maximum coach to player ratio of 1:10.

Participants are grouped in divisons based on age, skill and playing ability for both instruction sessions and games.

BONUS!!!Each player is given free admission to all of the Golden Hawk Men’s Basketball games for the 2012-2013 season!

CAMP FEATURESInstructorsThe camp coaching staff is composed of current university players, local high school coaches and Laurier’s basketball coaching staff.

Each player will receive feedback on their shooting, dribbling, passing as well as 1 on 1 skills and team play.

Enrollment is LIMITED!! Registration is on a first come first serve basis and to ensure athletes receive individual attention, we are limiting registration to 80 players. Camp FeesThe cost to participate is $210.00 per athlete. All players will receive a reversible jersey, and a basketball.

For extended hours (8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.), there is a flat rate of $25/week/child.

HoCkey sCHool & sporTs CampPROGRAM - August 20-24 & August 27-31, 20122 Co-ed Sessions Offered:· Session #1 August 20 - August 24, 2012· Session #2 August 27 - August 31, 2012

On ice instruction taught by Head Coach and Lau-rier men’s hockey team members. Participants from ages 7-13 will be divided into three groups according to age and further divided by ability. This will allow the coaches to provide more personal instruction by working with small groups. Player Instruction ratio will be 10:1 The daily schedule will run from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. There will be a late pickup option (4:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.) for an additional cost of $20/child.

Facilities Located at:RIM Park, 2001 University Ave., Waterloo, Ontario

Meals can be ordered through RIM Park’s Food Services for an additional cost by calling 519-884-1790. Meal orders should be placed on the Wednesday before the camp starts.

CAMP FEATURESON-ICEThere will be over two and a half hours of ice time divided into two sessions each day. A session will include power skating, teaching individual skills as well as individual and team tactics.

OFF-ICEThe off-ice program will utilize the outstanding facilities available at RIM Park.

Your player will receive 15 hours of on-ice instruction from outstand-ing role models who have demonstrated their dominance in the OUA by winning six straight conference championships.

Sessions will include teaching individual skills as well as individual and team tactics. The on-ice program will include goal-tender instruction for 40 minutes of the session (a.m. only).

OFF-ICEThe off-ice program will utilize the outstanding facilities available at RIM Park. Players will be able to participate in a variety of sports and video sessions.

Also included: Proper Warm-up and Cool-down, Off-ice Training Activities, Games

This unique program will offer the opportunity for young players to talk to university athletes and learn first hand about the student-athlete experience.

PROGRAM - July 30-August 3 & August 7-10, 2012Wilfrid Laurier’s Soccer School & Sports Camp provides boys and girls age 6-13 with the opportunity to develop their soccer skills in a positive and non-threat-ening environment. Participants will also be able to enjoy the off-field activities available at Wilfrid Lau-rier University.

Participants will be divided into three groups according to age and further divided by ability. This will allow the coaches to provide more personal instruction by working with small groups.

Each player is given special attention with a maxi-mum coach to player ratio of 1:10.

The daily schedule will run from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

CAMP FEATURESON-FIELDThe on-field content will be heavily focused on technical skill development in a positive, non threatening environment. The concentration will be on skill drills leading to small sided games. We are looking to provide a very positive experi-ence for all of the players.

OFF-FIELD

The off-field program will utilize the outstanding facilities available at Wilfrid Laurier University. These activities include: indoor soccer, swimming, dodgeball, organized games, video sessions, and climbing wall. Camp FeesWeek 1 : $200.00 Week 2 : $160.00

Notes: For extended hours (8:30 am - 4:30 pm), there is a flat rate of $25/week/child.

Children can be dropped off/picked up on Alumni Field.

Golden Hawk mulTi-sporT Camp

PROGRAM - July & August, 2012Multi-Sport Camp is now HIGH FIVE Registered! (www.highfive.org). Organizations that are registered with HIGH FIVE are committed to ensuring that every child in the program has a positive sport and recreation experience.

A high standard has been applied to the instructional staff as our camp has become High Five registered. Each counsellor will go through Healthy Child Development training and meet a high level of safety and instruction on our way to becoming certified.

Entering its 22nd summer, the Golden Hawk Multi-Sport Camp at Wilfrid Laurier University has a new and energetic spin! Themed weeks, dress-up days, day trips and exciting “Choose Your Own Adventure” programming are only a few of the exciting elements of this camp!

A low ratio of staff to campers will see the sport sessions reach the heights of professionalism and quality in coaching. We also offer a wide variety of sports. Not only does our camp programming differ from week to week to accommodate returning campers, but programming changes on a daily basis as well!

Age of Camp Participants Multi-Sport Camp is designed for children aged 5-12 years of age. Children must be within the required age group by the first day of their camp week.

Staff Enthusiastic senior Laurier students, trained in High Five’s Healthy Child Development Program. Ratio of Staff to Children No more than 8:1

Facilities Laurier’s University Stadium is the home base for the camp.

Camp Programming Sports & Game instruction, special events, theme weeks, a mid-week trip, and daily “Choose Your Own Adventure” Programming. Themes vary from week to week!

CAMP FEATURESPROGRAM - July & AugustThe camp emphasizes fun, fitness, skill development, sportsmanship and cooperative team spirit. The following sessions are offered:

** Weeks 1 & 6 are 4-day weeks due to Canada Day and the Civic Holiday.

The regular camp hours of operation are from9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Extended camp hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

You can pick up and drop off you child at University Stadium’s front entrance. Weeks 2, 3, 4, 5 & 7 cost $200.00 per childWeeks 1 & 6 cost $180.00 per child**

Golden Hawk leader-in-TraininG proGramPROGRAM - 3 SessionsThe Leaders-In-Training program offers individuals aged 13-16 years a unique experience, as they will develop their lead-ership and teamwork skills through fun, interactive activities. LIT’s will also get the opportunity to shadow counsellors and lead activities for the younger campers. The LIT program is meant to introduce the fundamentals of leadership in the hopes that they may apply these skills to their everyday life and future aspirations. Week one involves a focus on a variety of skills and experiences to prepare them for working with campers. Week two involves working as a volunteer with the camp, applying the skills and experiences hands-on.

CAMP FEATURESUnder the guidance of specialized session leaders, including a Camp Coordinator, LIT’s will get the opportunity to experience a number of excellent workshops.

Program highlights include: - Sessions on: leadership, communication, and teamwork- Résumé writing and interview preparation- Basic First-aid- Sport skill technique breakdown and sport lesson plan development - Weekly fun-filled trips #1. Leadership Training: July 3 - 6 Volunteer Position: July 9 - 13

#2. Leadership Training: July 16 - 20 Volunteer Position: July 23 - 27 #3. Leadership Training: July 30 - Aug 3 Volunteer Position: Aug 7 - 10

The camp runs from 9 am to 4 pm. Children can be picked up and dropped off at University Stadium’s front entrance. Camp Fee’s Each two-week session costs $200 per applicant. The fee includes:

Golden Hawk fooTall CampPROGRAM - May 5-6, 2012The Golden Hawks Football Camp will provide developing Football players (aged 13-19) with an opportunity to improve their skills & increase their understanding of the game of football in a fun and challenging environment. The camp will also allow gifted players to be seen and scouted by the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks coaching staff and other OUA schools.

On the last day of camp each player will receive an evaluation form from their positional coach citing their skills, testing results as well as areas to improve on.CAMP FEATURESON-FIELDPlayers will be asked to provide their own football equipment. Rental equipment will be available upon request for a fee of $30 (Inc. HST) for the weekend. There will be a minimal amount of contact during practices but a full set of equipment with mouthguard is required. Between practices the first day will be a 1 hour testing period where running shoes and shorts are recommended. All practices will take place at one of the premier University facilities in the nation on Knight-Newbrough Field at University Stadium.

OFF-FIELDFootball camp participants will also have an opportunity to study film of previous practices with their positional coach. Following prac-tice Saturday, there will be a touch football tournament hosted by the Golden Hawk football players. Laurier ’s newly build King St. Residence (single occupancy rooms) is available for overnight campers. Lunch both days as well as dinner in our campus dining hall will be provided. Camp Fees 1. PROGRAM - March 31-April 1, 2012In the Trench Warfare Lineman camp, Offensive & Defensive Lineman (aged 13-19) will learn skills and techniques that will contribute to any lineman’s ability to successfully win any battle in the trenches in a full contact environment. Players will be divided by age & ability and will participate in two 2 hour practices where they will receive some of the most directed & skill-specific coaching anywhere!

Trench Warfare Lineman Camp will run in conjunction with the final two days of the Laurier Golden Hawks spring camp. This will provide an excellent opportunity for future Hawks to observe their position and coaching at the University level up to 4 different times, once before and after each practice. CAMP FEATURESINSTRUCTORS-Current Laurier Golden Hawks Offensive and Defensive Lineman coaches-High School and club coaches from around Kitchener-Waterloo and the Greater Toronto Area-some of the all-time best Offensive and Defensive Lineman to wear a Laurier uniform

ON-FIELDThere will be 1 practice Saturday and 1 practice Sunday, each of which will run 2 hours in length. Players will learn basic and advanced fundamentals both from an individual standpoint and also when working alongside teammates. Coaching will initially take place with no opponent, then campers will be able to test what they’ve learned against players on the opposing side of the ball. A full set of equipment will be required.

OFF-FIELDParticipants in the Trench Warfare Lineman camp will have an opportunity to observe amateur football at the highest level in Canada. The Golden Hawks will be practicing prior to and following each of the camp sessions. Campers will be invited to field level so they can get right in the action which will provide an additional valuable learning experience, both from observing their position and listening to some of Canada’s best coaches do their thing! Film sessions of Spring Camp will also be open for any Lineman Camp participant to sit in on, providing another positive experience. 2. Click the purple select button on the camp you wish to purchase

3. Select the number of camp spots & options you wish to purchase for each week. 4. Click Add to Cart. 5. If you wish to purchse more camps, follow steps 2 through 4 again. 6. Once you have selected all the camps you wish to purchase click the checkout button on the right hand side of the screen.

7. Click the Login/Create Account for Secure Checkout button.

8. If you already have an account enter your email address and password and skip to step 12. If not click the Sign Up Now button.

9. In the Sign Up Now area enter your First and Last name and an email address. The system will email you your password. If you don’t recieve a password email [email protected] 10. Once you get your password, click checkout on the right hand side and then the Login/Create Account for secure checkout button.

11. Login using your email address and password.

12. You should see a list of your purchases and your total to be billed.

13. Click the Add An Address button. Enter your Billing Address and click add. You can add a separate address for mailing if they are different. 14.
