Rev. Larry Coulterinvites you to join him

on a brief journeythrough Calvin's Institutes

John Calvin's Institutes of the ChristianReligion stands among the greatest worksof Christian theology and Western litera-ture. The Institutes have molded thechurch's understanding of Christian doc-trine for generations and has had untoldinfluence in the devel-opment of Westernthought in both thereligious and civil are-nas.

Calvin's stated desireis to give the readerthe necessary back-ground to read andaccurately handle thegreat doctrines andpromises of the Bible. He understooddoctrine to be more than theory, butsomething to mold our understanding ofGod, ourselves and the world in which welive. The Institutes, and our study, willloosely follow the outline of the Apostle'sCreed.

Starts: Thurs., Sept. 15When: 7:00-8:30 p.m.Where: Room 7Other info: Running until Dec. 8, therewill be a total of 10 classes. Class will notmeet on Sept. 22, Oct. 13, or Nov. 24.There will be class handouts of portionsof the Institutes as needed so it is notrequired to have your own copy.

Hefirst addresses the seven most common objectionsto Christianity in our culture. Next, he builds evi-dence for Christianity as a reasonable choice forexplaining the world.

Weekly Bible Study—Many Christian menstruggle in having a daily devotion and readingGod’s word. Man in the Mirror Ministries has a reg-ular study of God’s word with discussion questionsand exercises at the end ofeach week’s reading. Ourgoal?
