The Infiniti Elite Extended Protection Plan provides you with long term coverage to 7years/100,000 miles. Coverage under the optional Infiniti Elite Extended ProtectionPlan and the Infiniti Limited Warranties begins with the delivery of the vehicle to thefirst retail buyer. Accordingly, your agreement may provide coverage for your vehiclefor a portion of the same period as your New Vehicle Warranty. Upon expiration of theapplicable Limited Warranties, the full spectrum of the Infiniti Elite ExtendedProtection Plan coverage is in force to the end of the time or mileage term. If you have an accident, insist on Genuine Infiniti Collision Parts. Ifyou want your vehicle to be restored using parts made to Infiniti’soriginal exacting specifications – if you want it to last, help to protectyour personal safety and to help hold its resale value, the solution issimple. Tell your insurance agent and your repair shop to use onlyGenuine Infiniti Collision Parts.

Many non-genuine parts are copies made from impressions of Infinitiparts and may not match the specifications and performance stan-dards of Genuine Infiniti Parts. As a result, non-genuine parts may notlook or fit right, and may be less safe.

The hood on your vehicle is a good example. Infiniti designed it withhood buckling creases to help prevent the hood from penetrating theinterior of your vehicle in an accident. Non-genuine parts may not pro-vide such built-in safeguards.

In some states, the law says you must be advised if non-genuineparts are used to repair your vehicle.Why should you take a chance?

If you have your collision damage repairedusing Genuine Infiniti Outer Sheet Metal Panelsyou don’t have to worry about corrosion. DETERMINING THE PROPER MAINTENANCE INTERVAL

SCHEDULE 1 (more severe operating condi-tions), every 3,750 miles or 3 months,whichever comes first

Use Schedule 1 if you primarily operateyour vehicle under any of these conditions:

• Repeated short trips of less than 5 milesin normal temperatures or less than 10miles in freezing temperatures

• Stop-and-go traffic in hot weather or low-speed driving for long distances

• Driving in dusty conditions or on rough,muddy, or salt-spread roads

• Towing a trailer, or using a camper or car-top carrier

As a condition of your vehicle's warranty, you are responsible for properly maintaining your vehicle. In maintaining your vehicle,you should follow either Schedule 1 or Schedule 2 as listed below. Use these guidelines to determine which maintenance scheduleto use.

SCHEDULE 2 (less severe operating condi-tions), every 7,500 miles or 6 months,whichever comes first

Schedule 2 features 7,500-mile serviceintervals; with Schedule 2 fewer mainte-nance items are regularly checked orreplaced than with Schedule 1.

Generally, Schedule 2 applies only tohighway driving in temperate conditions.Use Schedule 2 only if you primarilyoperate your vehicle under conditionsother than those listed in Schedule 1.

PREMIUM MAINTENANCE*

Premium Maintenance is an Infiniti-recommended optional upgrade that addsservices to Schedule 1 and 2 whenmaintenance is performed.

Performing the Premium upgrade servicesmay optimize the performance, durability,reliability, and resale value of your vehicle.(Premium Maintenance items are availableat every 30,000 miles or 24 month interval.)

*Premium Maintenance is an Infiniti-recommended option; however, you need not perform such maintenance in order to maintain the warranties which come with your Infiniti.Premium Maintenance may not be available outside the United States, please inquire of your dealer.

EXPLANATION OF SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE ITEMSThe following descriptions are provided togive you a better understanding of thescheduled maintenance items that shouldbe regularly checked or replaced. Themaintenance log indicates at whichmileage/time intervals each item requiresservice.

In addition to scheduled maintenance,your Infiniti requires that some items bechecked during normal day-to-dayoperation. You can find these items listedunder “General Maintenance” in Chapter 8of your Owner’s manual.

Items marked with “*” are recommendedby Infiniti for reliable vehicle operation. Youare not required to perform such mainte-nance in order to maintain the emissionwarranty or manufacturer recall liability.Other maintenance items and intervals arerequired.

When applicable, additional informationcan be found in the “Do-it-yourself” sec-tion in Chapter 8 of your Owner’s Manual.

NOTE: Nissan North America does notadvocate the use of non-OEM approvedaftermarket flushing systems and stronglyadvises against performing these serviceson a Infinti product. Many of theaftermarket flushing systems use non-OEM approved chemicals or solvents, theuse of which has not been validated byNissan North America.

For recommended fuel, lubricants, fluids,grease, and refrigerant refer to Chapter 9in your Owner’s Manual.

Emission Control SystemMaintenance:Drive Belts*Check engine drive belts for wear, frayingor cracking and for proper tension.Replace any damaged drive belts.

Engine Air FilterReplace at specified intervals. Whendriving for prolonged periods in dustyconditions, check/replace the filter morefrequently.

Engine Coolant*Replace coolant at the specified inter-val. When adding or replacing coolant,be sure to use only Genuine NissanLong Life Antifreeze/Coolant (Blue) orequivalent with the proper mixture.(Refer to the owner’s manual to deter-mine the proper mixture for your area).The recommended service interval ofthe factory-fill coolant is 105,000 miles(168,000km) or 7 years whichever comesfirst. Subsequent replacement of GenuineNissan Long Life Antifreeze/Coolant(Blue) should occur every 75,000 miles(120,000km) or 5 years whichevercomes first. NOTE: Mixing any othertype of coolant or the use of non-dis-tilled water will reduce the recommend-ed service interval of the coolant.

Engine Oil and Oil FilterReplace engine oil and oil filter at thespecified intervals. For recommendedoil grade and viscosity refer toChapter 9 in your Owner’s Manual.

Engine Valve Clearance*Inspect only if valve noise increases.Adjust valve clearance if necessary.Evaporative Emissions ControlVapor Lines*Check vapor lines and connections forleaks or looseness. Tighten connectionsor replace parts as necessary.Fuel FilterMaintenance-free item (In-tank type filter).Fuel Lines*Check the fuel hoses, piping and con-nections for leaks, looseness, or deterio-ration. Tighten connections or replaceparts as necessary.Spark PlugsReplace at specified intervals. Installnew plugs of the same type as originallyequipped.

Chassis and BodyMaintenance:Brake Lines and CablesVisually inspect for proper installation.

Check for chafing, cracks, deterioration,and signs of leaking. Replace any deteri-orated or damaged parts immediately.Brake Light and Cruise Control SwitchesInspect the clearance between the brakepedal and the switches.Brake Calipers, Pads, RotorsCheck for wear, deterioration and fluidleaks. Replace any deteriorated or dam-aged parts immediately.Exhaust SystemVisually inspect the exhaust pipes,muffler and hangers for leaks, cracks,deterioration, and damage. Tightenconnections or replace parts asnecessary. In-Cabin MicrofilterReplace at specified intervals. Whendriving for prolonged periods in dustyconditions, replace the filter morefrequently.Propeller Shaft(s)

Check for damage, looseness, and greaseleakage (4WD/AWD/RWD).

Steering Gear and Linkage, Axle andSuspension Parts, Drive Shaft BootsCheck for damage, looseness, and leak-age of oil or grease. Under severe drivingconditions, inspect more frequently.Tire RotationTires should be rotated every 7,500 milesaccording to the instructions in theOwner’s Manual (except G37 SedanJourney Model with Sport Package, G37Sedan Sport 6MT, G37 Coupe Journeymodel with Sport Package, G37 CoupeSport 6MT, G37 Coupe Journey modelswith Performance Tire & Wheel Packageand all G37 convertibles). When rotatingtires, check for damage and uneven wear.Replace if necessary.Transmission Fluid – Automatic orManual, Differential Oil, Transfer Case OilVisually inspect for signs of leakage atspecified intervals. If towing a trailer, usinga camper or car–top carrier, or driving onrough or muddy roads, replace the trans-mission fluid/oil at every 30,000 miles or24 months (except models with 7-speedautomatic transmission).

The following Maintenance Schedule has beencompiled by Infiniti to assist you in performingthe recommended maintenance services andkeeping appropriate records of servicesperformed. Along with the related repairinvoices, receipts, and other such records, aproperly documented maintenance historycould enhance the value of your vehicle shouldyou ever wish to sell it. The services listedrepresent the minimal factory recommendedrequirements for each time/mileage interval,up to 120,000 miles / 96 months.

Beginning on page 46 you will find amaintenance log that should be used to trackwhen and where services were performed. Askyour Service Consultant to stamp and updateyour log each time your vehicle is serviced.
