a

second

time

in

their

fourth

year

of

high

school.

Many

studentsalsoenrolledinsummerSATprepprogramsandchoosetoattendadditionaloptionalSAT

prepsessionsthatareheldatourschoolonFridaysandSaturdays. Forourjuniors,wehaverevised

ourcollegereadinesscurriculatoincludemoreSATprepincludingatwiceweeklycoursethatruns

fromOctoberthroughMarch. StudentswilltakesixpracticeexamsandsitfortheSATinboth

MarchandMay. Additionally,ourschoolisworkingtoreviseourELAcurriculathisyeartoinclude

morerigorousreadingaswellasSATrelatedinstruction. KIPPSTARhasalsoincreasedourSpeech

andCompositioncourseinfreshmenyearfromasemestertoayearlongclassinordertobuildin

additionaltimeforwritingandnonfictionreadingwork,whichwebelievewillhaveapositive

impactonour2012cohortwhowillbethefirstgrouptogothroughtheentire912revised

programofcoursesaswellasdirectSATprepinstruction.
