HOWARD LINCOLNChairman & Chief Executive Officer

A key player in the formation of the ownership group that saved the Mariners for Seattle in 1992, Howard Lincoln was named Chairman and Chief Executive Officer on Sept. 27, 1999.

On Feb. 14, 2000 Lincoln retired from his position as chairman of Nintendo of America, Inc. to devote his full efforts to the Mariners. Lincoln joined Nintendo as its senior vice president and general counsel in January 1983. In February 1994, he

was elected to the board of Nintendo of America, Inc. and appointed chairman of the company.Philanthropy plays an important role in Lincoln’s life. In addition to his strong support of the Mariners

Care Foundation, he is a trustee and former chairman of the Children’s Hospital Foundation. He was the Campaign Chair of United Way of King County’s 2003/04 Annual Campaign. Lincoln is also a board member of The Washington Roundtable and the Board of Trustees of Western Washington University and serves on the boards of ArtsFund and the Bellevue Boys & Girls Club.

Lincoln is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, and holds a law degree from Boalt Hall, the University of California School of Law. Following graduation from law school, Lincoln served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps from 1966 to 1970. He practiced law in Seattle from 1970 to 1983. He and his wife, Grace, reside on Mercer Island. Their son, Brad, and his wife, Kim, have two children: Ethan and Benjamin.

CHUCK ARMSTRONGPresident & Chief Operating Officer

Chuck Armstrong was named President and Chief Operating Officer of the Seat-tle Mariners on June 29, 1992. Armstrong was previously president of the Mariners from 1983 to 1989 and 2009 is his 24th season as President of the Mariners. He also served as Interim Athletic Director for the University of Washington in 1991.

Born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, Armstrong earned a B.S. degree in In-dustrial Engineering in 1964 from Purdue University where he was recognized as Outstanding Senior Man. He graduated from Stanford University Law School in

1967 and then served over three years on active duty in the U.S. Navy.Following his tour in the Navy, Armstrong joined a major Los Angeles law firm in 1970. From 1977-

1980 he was president of a leading national furniture manufacturer and importer. From 1980 to 1983, he served as president and chief executive officer of Arnel Management, an Orange County, CA, real estate investment company.

Armstrong and his wife, Susan, make their home in Medina. They have three children: daughters Dorrie (husband Ryan Schneider) and Katherine (husband Mark Hochstetler); and a son, Chuck. The Armstrongs also have three grandchildren: twin granddaughters, Emerson and Mallory, and a granddaughter Audrey.

The Armstrongs are active in numerous civic, charitable and educational activities.

JOHN ELLISChairman Emeritus

A life-long resident of the Seattle area, John Ellis helped lead the efforts to keep Major League Baseball in the Pacific Northwest. Upon transfer of the Mariners fran-chise to the new ownership group, Ellis became its first chairman and CEO, serving from June 29, 1992 until Sept. 27, 1999 when he was named Chairman Emeritus. Ellis continues as a member of the Mariners Board of Directors. During the seven full seasons of his tenure, the Mariners only finished below .500 once, while win-ning two Division titles and narrowly missing a third. Community and fan support

improved enormously: attendance grew from 1,651,398 in 1992 to 3,507,975 in 2001. The greatest ac-complishment under his leadership was the construction of our world-class ballpark, Safeco Field.

In June, 1999 Ellis was unanimously elected to the MLB Executive Council. He’s currently a member of the International, Ownership and Compensation & Finance Committees of MLB and chair of its BELP II Committee. John started his career as a lawyer with Perkins Coie in 1953 and then joined Puget Sound Power & Light Company (now Puget Sound Energy) in 1970, where he served variously as President, CEO and Chairman until his retirement in 1993. He’s been the recipient of numerous awards – including having been named one of the University of Washington’s outstanding graduates during the 20th century and inducted into the Junior Achievement Puget Sound Business Hall of Fame. He and his wife, Doris, have four children and eight grandchildren – all Mariners fans.

OFFICERS

FRONT OFFICE

JACK ZDURIENCIKExecutive Vice President & General Manager, Baseball Operations

Jack Zduriencik (zur-EN-sik) was named as the eighth General Manager in Seattle Mariners history after being hired on Oct. 22, 2008.

In his first months on the job, he re- organized the Mariners Baseball Operations,

Scouting and Player Development staffs, and has added talent to both the Major League and minor league rosters.

His first trade with the Mariners was a three-team, 12-player deal in which Seattle acquired seven players from the New York Mets and Cleveland Indians. His ensuing off-season moves were built around his goal of accumulating talent in the Mariners Major League and minor league system.

Zduriencik spent the past nine seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers. He was promoted to Vice Presi-dent – Special Assistant to the G.M. for Player Personnel on Jan. 15, 2008.
