Romantic Revival Period

Greek Revival Style – 1825 – 1860 Characteristics

- 2 Story rectangular house – Southern Plantation Style- Symmetrical Windows- Gable roof with wide trim at cornice- Pilasters on the corners or across the whole front- Elaborate entrance – door surrounded by small windows with added wood or stone framework- Columns supporting a small or large porch – Greek most common – across entire front
