Open your web browser.


Go to “http://www.safer-

networking.org”


You will redirected to this page.


Go to “Download.”


Click “Download Spybot 2.4 Free

Edition.”


Select one mirror to download.


For this tutorial I will use

SecurityWonks.


Then Click “Download.”


Click “Download Spybot + AV v2.4

(44.37 MiB).”


Click “Save File.”


Then click “Save.”


Open the file you downloaded.


Run the file, Click “Run.”


Click “OK.”


Click “Next >.”


Again click “Next >.”


Again click “Next >.”


Click “I accept the agreement.”


Click “Next >.”


Then Click “Install.”


Intallation finish. Click “Finish.”


If this update show up, click “Update.”


Wait until the update finish.


Now go to Spybot Start Center.


If your Spybot Start Center is not yet

open.


Click “Spybot-S&D Start Center” on

your windows.


To scan your complete system using Spybot.


Click “System Scan.”


This will show up.


Click “Start a scan.”


Scanning is in progress. Wait until

finish scanning.


To pause scanning your system


Click “Pause scan.”


The scan paused.


To stop scanning your system


Click “Stop scan.”


The scan will stop.


In this tutorial, just continue scanning

your system.


If the scan is finish. It will show like

this.


You will see the description of the files

scanned.


You will see the location of the files

scanned.


You will see the threat level.


Note: The red color in threat level is

critical.


Click “Fix selected.”


It will fix all selected files in your

system.


It will look like this. Check appear

when fixed.


To save the scan log


Click “Save scan log.”




Scan log saved.


To scan a single file or folder


Go back to Spybot start center.


Click “File Scan.”


This will appear.


If you want to scan a single/multiple

file.


Click “Add file(s).”


Locate the files in your PC.


Then click the file you want to scan.


Or select files you want to scan.


Click “Open.”


It will scan automatically. Check will

appear.


You can also see the status if file is

clean.


That’s it for scanning single/multiple

files.


If you want to scan a folder.


Click “Add folder(s).”


Locate the folder you want to scan.


Then click “OK.”


It is queued because it’s to many.


Wait until the scan is finish.


All files scanned.


Save the loge file, click “Save log file.”




To immunize your computer against certain spyware.


Go back to Spybot Start Center.


Click “Immunization.”


This will appear.


Click “Check system.”


Or here.


Note: You must close all open

browsers.


Immunization check finished.


To easily block some common threats.


You need to apply immunization.


Click “Apply immunization.”


Spybot immunizing your system now.


Wait for a moment until it’s finished.


Immunization complete.


If you want to undo immunization.


Just click “Undo immunization.”


To restore previously removed files for whatever reason.


Go back to Spybot Start Center.


Click “Quarantine.”


This will appear.


Select items you want to restore.


Then click “Restore selected.”


The Items you selected restored.


You can also purge item in quarantine.


Select items you want to purge.


Then click “Purge selected.”


The items you select purged.


Apply this tutorial now to your computer.
