=New equlpmen 100 MHz ultrasonic pulser/receiver card The SR-9000 ultrasonic pulser/receiver card for the IBM PC has been announced by Matec Instruments. With a unipolar spike pulse having a rise-time of 8 ns it has an output level of over 400 V in high level mode. In the user-selectable lower level mode, it has a rise-time of 6 ns. The receiver provides a bandwidth of over 100 MHz and 90 dB of dynamic range. All functions are user controlled through menu driven software. The SR-9000 installs in the expansion bus of any IBM compatible computer and allows the computer to be used as an ultrasonic test system. It can also be used in multiple channel configurations providing simultaneous transmit and receive channels for multiple transducers. The software allows the user to control all functions including pulser damping, repetition rate, output level, receiver gain, high and Iowpass filtering and rectification. When configured with the Matec SR-9010 100 MHz data The SR-9000 100 M Hz pulser/receiver card provides high end ultrasonic performance for the IBM PC XC-4 X-ray camera and controller from KevexX-Ray acquisition plug-in card and M I- Scope oscilloscope emulation software, the computer becomes a low-cost, high performance ultrasonic system. The MI-Scope emulation software allows the user to measure attenuation, time of flight, fast Fourier spectrums, and other material-related properties. Matec Instruments Inc, 75 South Street, Hopkinton, MA 01748, USA X-ray sensitive camera and controller The X-ray sensitive camera model XC-4 from Kevex X-Ray is a CCD array based camera using a proprietary scintillator which is fibre-optically coupled to an intensifier. This provides greater sensitivity and higher resolution. The unit is capable of producing a useful image with less than 0.05 W of X-ray source power when the camera is 5 cm from the source. It is capable of imaging a 25 #m gold wire without the use of a micro-focus X-ray source. When coupling the SC-4 with one of the company's micro-focus X-ray sources, details that are vital to the non-destructive testing industry become readily visible. The X-ray window is a 25#m aluminium foil, with a field of view of 25 mm. The imaging head size is 7.5 x 9 × 30cm, while the controller is 20x 15 x9cm. TheCCD array is 610 horizontal by 488 vertical pixels. Kevex X-Ray Inc, 320 E1 Pueblo Road, Scotts Valley, CA 95066, USA 282 NDT& E International October 1991
