Active Phone Lines
• Never work with an active phone line
• Disconnect at NID
• Take phone off the hook
• Inform customer of all phone work
– Ensure security system will not be effected
– Ask the customer if they have DSL, their internet may be temporarily disconnected

– (Black, Red, Green, Yellow —"BRGY")
– Shown with the "clip" down or underneath
• Connector on other end of the cablewired in reverse order
• RJ-11 connectors have six terminals
– Only the middle four are normally used
– Sometimes only the middle two
– Center pair (red and green) is Line 1
