British Council Brazil – IELTS Terms and Conditions
IELTS Brazil only accepts RG/RNE and Passport as valid documents for online enrolment
(driver’s license and professional documents will not be accepted). Do not upload an invalid
ID on your online enrolment.
In case of wrong ID upload, you will receive further instructions via e-mail. Your registration
will be cancelled in case you do not follow the instructions received and you will not be
eligible for any rescheduling. Requests for refund will only be accepted up to 30 calendar
days prior to your test date.
Your speaking interview may be taken up to 7 days either before or after the written test date
(working days included). You will receive detailed notification of your speaking and written
test via email prior to the exam date. You will not be eligible to take the written test and will
not be eligible for refund/rescheduling in case you do not attend to your speaking interview.
The British Council reserves the right to modify the test venues informed on the website.
You will not be permitted to take the test in case you do not bring the exact same valid and
original ID you used to apply for the test and will not be eligible for refund/rescheduling
(IELTS Brazil does not accept driver’s licence or professional ID).
In case of lateness you will not be permitted into the test room and will not be eligible for
refund/rescheduling.
IELTS scores are available online 13 calendar days following your test. Online result is
provisional and should not be used as an official confirmation of your achievement.
Paper-based copies of your Test Result Form (TRF) are mailed 13 calendar days following
the test date to the address provided on your application. Delivery time varies between 7-10
working days.
You will receive only one original TRF for your personal copy and it’s important that you
keep it safe as replacement Test Report Forms cannot be issued. We do not provide
electronic Test Report Forms.
Make sure your address is correctly informed on your application form (complete and in
Portuguese), since we use the national mail service. In case of incomplete address your
TRF will not be posted and will remain on our office.
Up to five (5) copies of your Test Report Form (TRF) will be sent to the relevant institution(s)
you have listed on your IELTS application form (via regular mail or electronically). Regular
postage is free of charge. Additional TRFs beyond these five can be requested from the Test
Centre which issued the TRF. In case you did not list relevant institution(s) on your IELTS
application form, an administration fee will be charged.

Cancellation and Refund: requests for cancellation and refund must be submitted via email
([email protected]) strictly up to 30 calendar days prior to your test date. You
will receive a partial refund (25% administrative fee will be charged). Requests submitted
after this deadline will not be considered.
No-show: candidates who fail to appear for their scheduled test can receive a partial refund
(25% administrative fee will be charged) if provided via email evidence that their ability to
sit for the test has been affected by medical condition. Only evidence of serious illness
will be considered (dental appointments/medical exams do not qualify as serious illness).
The request must be submitted via email ([email protected]) strictly up to
5 working days after the test date. The original medical certificate must also be submitted
via mail (Correios) and the refund will only be released after its analysis (the final
decision is under the responsibility of the IELTS Exams management and cannot be
changed).
Rescheduling: it is not possible to postpone or reschedule your test date or venue. Please
refer to our Cancellation and Refund Police should you need to modify your test details and
register to the exam one more time.
Enquiry on Results: if you are unhappy with your IELTS test result, you can apply for a re-
mark at the centre where you took the test. You must submit your request via e-mail and all
necessary documentation must be received by our main office no later than six weeks after
the test date and you can choose which parts of the test you want to have re-marked. There
is a fee for this service (£60,00) which will be refunded if your score on any component is
increased. Enquiries on Results take from eight weeks to complete.
The British Council reserves the right to cancel an IELTS session if minimum numbers are
not met. Refund/rescheduling will be offered to candidates who had already applied.
