Parking Aid Camera Kit

Tools and Supplies Required

Before You Begin

Customer Information

Write down the customers radio station presets. The radio memory will be erased when the negative cable is discon-

nected.

The radio may have a coded theft protection circuit. If so, be sure you have the anti-theft code before you disconnect

the battery.

Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

Be extremely careful not to damage the body paint finish and rear bumper.

To prevent damage to the rear bumper, set it on a cardboard or a blanket during the installation.

Wire Harness Routing Precaution

Disconnect the connectors andterminals by holding them. Donot pull the harness to discon-nect the connector

Do not pull the harness withforce. It will damage the har-ness.

Cut off the excess of the wireties.

Connect the connectors andterminals securely until theylock.

Reinstall the connectors to thecorresponding stays wheneverthey are removed. After opera-tion, check that the connectorsare installed on the stays se-curely and not loose or comeout of the stays.

Take care not to pinch the har-ness with the vehicle parts dur-ing assembly.

Secure the harness to the vehi-cle harness securely not to letthem hang down. Reinstall theclamps of the vehicle if they areremoved.

1. Raise the rear seat cushion and release the four

retaining tabs and remove the right slide cover.

and two clips B, and remove the right rear side

move the right rear side cushion.

4. Open the tailgate. Release the four clips and re-

move the tailgate upper garnish.

5. Release the two clips and two retaining tabs,

and remove the right and left tailgate side gar-

nishes.

6. Open the cap and remove the torx screw.

7. Remove the two clips A from the underside of

the tailgate.

8. Loosen the tailgate lining by removing the

twelve clips. Disconnect the vehicle connector

and remove the tailgate lining.

9. Remove the two bolts and two nuts from the in-

ner side of the tailgate.

10. Pull the license light garnish toward you andloosen it by removing the sixteen clips. Discon-

nect the vehicle connector and remove the li-

cense light garnish.

11. Remove the vehicle seal packings from the in-

ner side of the license light garnish you just re-

moved and replace them with fifteen seal

packings A, two seal packings B and three seal

packings C as shown.

12. Release the five clips and remove the rear end

upper garnish.

13. Release the two clips A and remove the floor

center lid.

14. Release the two clips B and two bolts and re-

move the floor rear lid.

15. Remove the rear floor box.

16. Release the two hooks A and remove the rightlid.

17. Release the hook B and clip A, and remove the

right trunk side pocket lid.

18. Remove the clip C, remove the two clips (both

four retaining tabs), and remove the right side

pocket.

When the car is equipped with the premium

sound system, release the five clips B and

remove the speaker lid.

Remove the left lid, the left trunk side pock-

et lid and the left trunk side pocket in thesame way.

23. Remove the weatherstrip. Release the retaining

tab using a flat-tip screwdriver and push down

the hook forward. Remove one self-tapping

screw.

24. Release the eight clips and pull the right rear

side lining toward you, disconnect the vehicle

connector and remove the right rear side lining.

by removing the five bolts. Disconnect the vehi-

quarter pillar garnish.

26. Release the one retaining tab, band of the hingecover and two clips and remove the right hinge

cover from the hinge.

27. Pull the front and rear door opening seals out of

position. Release the two clips, release the re-

taining tabs by pushing the top of the right cent-

er pillar lower garnish and loosen the right

center pillar lower garnish. Connect the battery cable to the battery ter-

minal and slide the front seat forward before

loosening the right center pillar lower gar-

nish.

After this step, disconnect the negative ca-

ble from the battery.

glove box. Open the glove box.

32. Release the stopper. Remove the glove box by

pushing the right and left hooks inward.

knob counterclockwise and remove it.

37. Open the ashtray holder and remove the ash-

tray.

38. Remove the two self-tapping screws, release

the two clips and pull the ashtray holder toward

you.

39. Disconnect the vehicle connectors and bulb.

Release the bulb cord from the holder and re-

move the ashtray holder.

40. Release the two self-tapping screws and two

41. Remove the two nuts and two bolts and remove

the two vehicle harness clip from the vehicle

bracket. Pull the vehicle navigation unit toward

you.

42. Disconnect the five vehicle connectors and re-

move the vehicle navigation unit.

A with pieces of vinyl tape.

punch as shown.

46. Remove the template A. Drill the template at thethree marked points using an electric drill motor.

Drill with the 3 mm bit first (at the three points),

then drill with the 6 mm, and finish drilling with

the 8 mm bits (at the two points) and with the 20

mm hole saw (at one point).

47. Pass the parking aid camera harness through

the center hole in the parking aid camera brack-

et. Install the parking aid camera bracket on the

48. Wind the vinyl tape onto the parking aid camera

terminal and pass it through the grommet.

49. Measure the area shown and secure the grom-

met to the parking aid camera harness. Note

the installation direction of the grommet.

50. Install the blind fasteners in the two 8 mm holesin the vehicle panel.

51. Route the parking aid camera harness through

the 20 mm hole in the vehicle panel. Install the

grommet as shown and install the parking aid

camera bracket on the vehicle panel using two

washer-screws.

52. Route the parking aid camera harness along

the vehicle harness to the right hinge. Secure

the parking aid camera harness to the vehicle

harness using eight wire ties.

53. Attach the EPT sealer to the edge of the vehiclepanel where the parking aid camera harness

will contact.

Clean the surface where the EPT sealer will

attach using contact cleaner.

54. Route the parking aid camera harness under

the hinge and route it into the passenger com-

partment. Secure the parking aid camera har-

ness to the vehicle harness using a wire tie.

Do not secure the parking aid camera har-

ness to the washer hose using a wire tie.

55. Pull out the parking aid camera harness. Usinga felt-tip pen, mark the harness at the point

where it contacts the edge of the vehicle panel.

era harness so that the marked point on the

parking aid camera harness is at the center of

the EPT sealer.

ing two wire ties and two pieces of EPT sealers.

60. Attach one piece of EPT sealer to the vehicle re-

73. Remove the template B. Drill the license lightgarnish at the three upper marks using an elec-

tric drill motor. Drill with the 3 mm bit first, then

finish drilling with the 10 mm bit.

After drilling, remove the burrs thoroughly

from the edge of the holes.

74. From the back side of the license light garnish,

drill it at the three lower marks you made in step

78. Bring the license light garnish close to the tail-

gate. Reconnect the vehicle connector and

align the parking aid camera garnish with the

parking aid camera.

79. Reinstall the license light garnish.

Check that the parking aid camera garnish

aligns with the parking aid camera securely.

Install the license light garnish with care notto drop the seal packings A, B and C out of

position.

Checking the Installation Check and adjust the installation of the parking aid

camera garnish and parking aid camera lens as

follows not to allow a shadow to be reflected in the

monitor picture.

1. Move the parking aid camera garnish with your

fingers and adjust so that the top edge of the

lens body is equal to the right and left sides by

viewing the lens from the front side.

Adjust so that the right and left edges are

equal in width, too.
