The IMDS no. or the MISS No. together with part number will be accepted, if - in the material data sheet, the check traffic light is green and the

ELV (End-of-life-vehicle) traffic light is greenor

Rules/Results for valid exceptions -1/3

In some exceptional cases the sampling can also be completed positively without valid IMDS- or MISS entry. For this, several exceptions have been determined, which are selectable in BeOn on page IMDS /MISS.

If a valid exception is chosen, an accepted MDB Status will be displayed.

The supplier itself is responsible for the correctness of this information. If there is anyuncertainty, we rcommend the coordination with the responsible engineer of the Quality Assurance of the purchasing plant. The following exceptions are acceptable instead of an IMDS/MISS- entry:

1. Genuine parts for vehicles with production date before 2003-07-01 :

No IMDS entry necessary, as these parts do not subject to the end-of-life vehicles rule

4. Genuine parts accessories: Genuine parts that are not part of the vehicle equipment ex-factory, e.g. Volkswagen/Audi accessories. Those components have to fulfil a number of requirements

With the choice of Exception 4, the supplier confirms the observance of the following laws:

- the scope of delivery is checked according 67/548/EWG- the scope of delivery is conform with VDA 232-101

(global list of notifiable substances in vehicle engineering - GADSL)- the scope of delivery contains the heavy metals Cd, Cr (VI), Hg und Pb only in

connection with the allowed application according 2000/53/EG- the scope of delivery is free of forbidden substances according EG Verordnung

1907/2006, Anhang XVII (REACh) (former Chemikalienverbotsverordnung)- the scope of delivery is labelled according 2003/138/EG

This function can be used if it is an ASSY with no independent IMDS No., because several parts of the ASSY are released by Volkswagen AG itself.(parts of the ASSY have an own VW part no.).

Here there are two cases:

a) All parts are released by VW AG and the supplier adds no own parts.b) ASSY contains parts released by VW AG as well as substances/parts, added by the supplier.

(Until now, these parts were not considered in the IMDS entries of the parts e.g. welding wire at weldedelements, glue or other parts, that the ASSY manufacturer produces on its own and mounts on theASSY).The sampling should be registered as Variants IMDS/MISS part if there are no parts with own partno. are added to the ISIR. In both of the above mentioned cases (a, b) the Variant IMDS/MISS partcan be chosen, as long as all parts of the ASSY were respected in the IMDS- No.

The entry of the part no. is an obligation while creatingthe parts. The fields DUNS-No., Local Supplier No., ISIR-No., IMDS-No. or MISS-No. are always to be filled in seperately in combination with the part no.

BeOn identifies automatically an ISIR released by VW AG or an ISIR in releasing process on the basis of theentered criteria. (e.g. part no. + DUNS no.) The process is initiated by clicking the button Save orNew. Clicking the button New implicates a new empty linenext to the ISIR search.

BeOn identifies automatically the part ISIR in the data base where the search is executed in the followingorder:

1) Is there a current, completed report belonging to an entered part no. for the VW AG site to be sampled,2) Is there a current, completed report belonging to an entered part no. for other VW AG sites,3) Is there an open report (highest status in priority) belonging to an entered part no. for the VW AG site to be

sampled,4) Is there an open report (highest status in priority) belonging to an entered part no. for other VW AG sites,If there are several reports identified to one part no., the data that match with the highest priority are taken over in the line.

Advice: if a special report should be added, we recommend the entry of the part no. and ISIR no. If you want to add theISIR of a special supplier, we recommend the entry of the part no. + DUNS noTNR+DUNS-Nr. (Attention! Part no.+local supplier no. probably restrict the search to one brand!)

Case b) IMDS/MISS ASSY VariantsThe ASSY contains substances/part that are not

considered in the IMDS entries released by VW AG.



In order to enter the input in BeOn, please fill in the line theASSY part no. + local supplier no. and Save. BeOn recognizes, that the input (Case B) belongs to the currentprocessing report and deactivates the automatical search of ISIR in the data base.You can now chose the IMDS/MISS no or the exception. Theexception can only be chosen for the report that you are just creating. For all added parts it is a single view box. After saving, the current MDB status is taken over in the line. Entering more parts, already released by VW AG, describes casea.


Advice: In this special case b you have to enter the ASSY oartno., for all substances/parts that have no own VW part no., directlyin the IMDS system
