Spending Time with Jesus Before Your Day Begins(All Bible verses are taken from the New King James Version, unless noted otherwise.)

Your Christian life is no stronger than the time you spent with God this morning.Author unknown

Taste and seeThe men who have done the most for God in this world have been early on their knees. He who fritters away the early

morning, its opportunity and freshness, in other pursuits than seeking God, will make poor headway seeking him the rest

of the day. If God is not first in our thoughts and efforts in the morning, he will be in the last place the remainder of

the day.

Davids heart was ardent after God. He hungered and thirsted after God, and so he sought God early, before daylight.

The bed and sleep could not chain his soul in its eagerness after God. Christ longed for communion with God; and so,

rising a great while before day, he would go out into the mountain to pray. We might go through the list of men who

have mightily impressed the world for God, and we would find them early after God.

We need a generation who seek God and seek him early, who give the freshness and dew of effort to God, andsecure in return the freshness and fullness of his power that he may be as the dew to them, full of gladness and

strength, through all the heat and labor of the day. (Edward M. Bounds, Power Through Prayer)

(Jesus:) Start the day off right with praise and prayer and Word and communion with Me, and continue praising and

praying and communing with Me throughout the day. I long to be a constant presence in your life every day. Wont you

let Me? Wont you talk to Me more and talk things over with Me more as you go about your day, sharing your heart and

thoughts and desires with Me? I long to share My heart and thoughts and desires with you, to develop a sweetness and

a love and a bond and a fellowship with you that you cant even imagineto be a constant companion to you

because I love you.

I love it when you take time to just sit back in My arms and commune with Me. There dont always have to be words,

prayers, or even praises involved. Our souls can commune in spirit if you turn your thoughts toward Me and let yourmind and spirit dwell there.

Its as if your mind has a door that I can have complete access to if you let Me. During these moments when our minds

are communing as one, I can give you so many answers, reveal to you deep spiritual truths and take you farther in spirit

than you have ever gone before. This time will also fill you with My power, strength and energy like youve never

imagined. (ML 3594)

O God, You are my God; early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land

where there is no water.

So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory.

Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praise You.

Make it personal

Jesus, I want to be hungry and thirsty for You, too, because You are the only thing that truly sustains and satisfies me.

Please help me to take that time with You each daytime to listen to You, time to sit with You, time to drink in Your

Words and taste and see that You are good.
