Reading: Cactus Soup
Our class will read a folktale. Students will focus on compare and contrast while using text evidence to answer text based questions.

END OF YEAR COMPUTER TEST – TUESDAY, APRIL 17th We will focus on these 3 rd grade standards:
Ask and answer questions to demonstrate understanding of a text, referring explicitly to the text as the basis for the answers. [RL.3.1]
Compare and contrast the themes, settings, and plots of stories written by the same author about the same or similar characters (e.g., in books from a series). [RL.3.9]
Vocabulary (Test – Friday, April 20th)TROOP- a group of people; a group of soldiers
GRUMBLED- complained in a low voice
SPARE- to allow or share
NUDGED- to push gently or touch someone to gain their attention
FETCH- to go for something and bring it back
HERDED- to gather or come together
PRANCING- to raise the front legs and spring forward with the rear legs
SALUTED- to show respect by raising the hand to the forehead
LADLED- to dip or scoop
KETTLE- a wide, deep pot used for boiling liquids
DECLARED- to announce; to say strongly
SACRISTAN- a religious official

Year Math: In math we will review 3rd grade math standards to prepare students for their upcoming end of year test. We will practice test and focus on class weaknesses and identify class strengths.
