مقرر الفصل:This course contains 2 semester. each week, two hours for lecture, two hours

for laboratory

اهداف المادة :

The aim of this course to demonstrate knowledge of the body tissues and

how these tissues are arranged to constitute organs and eventually the

human systems. It is essential for students to be given this general

information in order to understand the structure and function of organs and

systems when studied physiology and histopathology. At the end of the year,

students should be able to describe a histological preparation, indicating

which types of tissue can be observed, which cell types are present and what

their respective functions are.

مقرر الفصل:This course comprises two semesters with one hour lecture and two hours practical sessions/ week. The final exam marks 30% theoretical and 30% practical.

اھداف المادة :

1-To know the fundamental basis and scientific facts about materials related to dentistry. 2- To know the basic materials present in dentistry, their names, composition, types, classification, properties specific to each material. 3-To know the manipulation of each material before, during and after use in clinic.

التفاصیل األساسیة للمادة :

This course deals with materials that are used in dentistry in details that are related to composition, mechanical, physical and chemical properties; their biological effects on human body and their interaction with each other. Also it deals with uses, indications, advantages and disadvantages, manipulation of each material. The practical part will take place in recognizing and manipulating these materials, and doing some tests to evaluate their properties. This course will aid the student in choosing the right material for each particular case in the clinic and doing the right treatment.

This course will teach the student how to construct a complete denture in the prosthodontics laboratory and also let the student know the right materials and techniques for each step of the construction. The practical part will provide the student with a hand skill in the laboratory procedures of the complete denture.
