1. The machine with following icon supports RapidDrive.

How to install OS on SSD?

When installing Windows 7, SSD and HDD can be specified in the below stage:

If OS (Windows 7) is installed on HDD, not SSD. What will happen?

It doesn’t support RapidDrive. However, the machine can work well in this situation like a normal one with a SSD plugged without RapidDrive driver. If RapidDrive driver is installed on this condition, it will cause “Blue Screen”.

The picture is only used to show the stage, NOT practical one.

If installing OS on SSD without RapidDrive driver, what will happen?

The machine will have the whole SSD to be the system partition.

What is RapidDrive driver used for?

The driver is used to combine SSD with HDD.

Can users uninstall RapidDrive Driver?

No, they can’t.

When a new version driver is released, the old one can be replaced. The relevant information about the driver can NOT be found in the Control Panel and Registry to prevent users from destroying the driver which will cause the crash.

Can SSD be found in the Device Manager?

Yes.

Unplugged the SSD on the RapidDrive machine.

The operation system and drivers are located on the SSD. If unplugged, the machine is crashed.

Can SSD be found in the Disk Management?

No. There is a bug when checking the disk.

“Disk 1” is a bug after combining SSD with HDD. When entering the “Disk Management”, a dialog box is popped up to ask users to initialize “Disk 1”. However, it doesn’t take effect.

How to make a 300GB C partition for RapidDrive model?

For example, 32GB SSD + 500GB HDD. Targets: 300GB C disk + 212GB D + 20GB O.

1. Initialize SSD and HDD. And install OS & Driver & App on SSD.

2. Allocate some partitions on HDD. Notice: the primary partitions on HDD MUST be less than 4.

3. Delete first partition (269GB partition).

4. Install RapidDrive Driver. The system partition will be extended. Notice: If the whole HDD is unallocated, the system partition will be extended to whole HDD.

How to adjust the partitions?

Some tools can be used to merge / delete / adjust the partitions, for example, “Acronis Disk Director Suite”. For RapidDrive machines, only the tool preloaded on Windows 7 is supported.

OneKey Recovery for RapidDrive?

The OneKey Recovery is optimized for the RapidDrive without change of UI and functions. Factory backup is the backup of the files on SSD only.

How to reinstall the OS?

The OS can NOT be installed following the normal way. RapidDrive provides a useful tool to reinstall the OS – RapidDriveTool.

1.Run “RapidDriveTool” under the OS.2.Shut down.3.Boot the machine with ODD to install the OS.

RapidDriveTool is used to separate the SSD and HDD. It can NOT be used to install dual operation systems with RapidDriveTool.

Which may cause the crash of the machine (relating to RapidDrive)?

1. Install OS and RapidDrive driver on HDD.2. The HDD is replaced. Some drivers may locates on it.3. Some files used to maintain system partition (SSD+HDD) is damaged. They can be

restored with OKR.4. The 5th primary partition was created through some tools. Only 4 primary partitions are

available, so delete it using the same tool. When allocating partitions on HDD, make sure the primary ones are less than 4.

5. Master Boot Record (MBR) of HDD was damaged. MBR can be fixed with some tools.6. SSD can not be detected.
