Create a great website which acts as an informational hub for connecting

foreign and local designers to the Tokyo (and Japan’s) design industry.

we wants to do it:WHY

Because there are many designers who want to work in Japan but there are limited

informational resources available.

Because there is a large design community in Japan and many events but few

resources which facilitate relationships between the various parties.

There is no go to resource in english.

Because Japan is on the cusp of becoming a far more globally focused country.

International designers can add great value to Japanese design firms by assisting Japan in connecting with the world and bringing their

work to a global standard.

we do it:HOW

Informative articles about Designing in Japan, that are aimed at both new and established designers. Topics are broad and cover everything

from studio life to practical information on tools/software

Interviews with designers from international

backgrounds who are working in Japan. We aim to cover general information

about how they arrived here, why they are working in Japan and their view on

design and life in Japan.

Cross Cultural Exchanges What a Japanese design studio wants

from an international designer. What is our responsibility as

international designers in Japan.

Practical Tips Japanese Design Vocabulary.

What level of Japanese do you realistically need to work in a studio.

How to survive the job hunt. Where are the studios (design hubs) .

Things to know before moving to Tokyo.
