The Task
1. Choose a theme as a focus for your drawing2. Make a collection of observational drawings
from your chosen theme 3. Work onto and in colour4. Build on and increase the skills you have learnt
from the last project5. Take further risks with your choice and use of
media and processes and continue to develop your skill and knowledge in the handling and application of different media
Your task is to interpret and evaluate your drawings into experimental hand and
machine knitted and hand and machine stitched samples
When you translate ideas through from your drawing you will need to consider the following:
• Marks - weights - light/heavy quality - rough(textured)/smooth soft/hard, thick/thin• Tonal contrasts – dark/light• Colour – pastle/bright• Edges – hard/soft, tensioned/relaxed• Surfaces - elaborate/plain• Finishes – shiny/matt transparent/opaque
