Alpha is almost the same as a beta but it will have a lot more bugs and glitches but that is why there is an alpha, to find the bugs and glitches. You are pretty much testing the game.

This image is relevant to the word “Alpha” because this shows that Destiny is in alpha.Pre-Alpha Pre-Alpha means that the game still has a

scheduled list of code and assists to be written and created. The game is buggy, it lacks features, it’s prone to crashing and performance issueshttps://carmageddon.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/200416352-What-does-Pre-Alpha-mean-

Pre-Alpha means a game is still being written and coded but it is closer to being finished.

Pixel Shader The pixel shader is another programmable function that allows flexibility in shading an individual pixel.https://www.google.co.uk/#q=definition+of+Pixel+Shader

Pixel Shader is almost the same as vertex shade but instead the pixel shader shades the individual pixel unlike the vertex shader.

This Image is relevant to the word “Pixel Shader” because it shows a game using the same shader but on the right side of the it shows the same game but with a update shader, you can clearly see the difference.

Post Processing Sonar data processing after real time data generation and storage. Modern sonar systems allow the user to concentrate on the task at hand of gathering data by recording "raw" data which can be manipulated or "processedhttp://www.instituteformarineacoustics.org/SonarPrimer/data/gloss_6c.htm

Post Processing makes a game texture and shaders look more realistic. It will also make the game run faster and the FPS will run quicker

This Image is relevant to the word “Post Processing” because it shows a game and what it looks like during post process.

Rendering Rendering is the process of generating an image from a 2D or 3D model (or models in what collectively could be called a scene file), by means of computer programs.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rendering_(computer_graphics)

Rendering means generating a 2D image in to a 3D model, it also means how far you can see in a game and how good the textures look a at a distance.

This Image is relevant to the word “Rendering” because it shows the difference between a render image and a non-render image.

Normal Map In 3D computer graphics, normal mapping, or "Dot3 bump mapping", is a technique used for faking the lighting of bumps and dents – an implementation of bump mapping. It is used to add details without using more polygons.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Normal_mapping

Normal Map means an implemented of bumps in the map and also it is also used for faking the lighting of the bumps and also the dents.

This Image is relevant to the word “Normal Map” because this image shows a map being made in its simple form.

Entity Entity-component-system (ECS) is a software architecture pattern that implements concepts from Composition over inheritance using a database-like structure. Common ECS approaches are highly compatible with Data-driven programming techniques, and the two approaches are often combined.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entity_component_system

Entity is a component system and also software which implements concepts from composition.

This Image is relevant to the word “Entity” because it shows what Entity means and how it works.

UV Map UV mapping is the 3D modelling process of making a 2D image representation of a 3D model's surface. UV mapping, this process projects a texture map onto a 3D object.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UV_mapping

UV Map is a 3D modelling processing which is created from a 2D image.

This Image is relevant to the word “UV Map” because it shows a 2D image being used to create a 3D model.

This Image is relevant to the word “Collision” because it shows a collision in a game.Lighting the arrangement or effect of lights

https://www.google.co.uk/#q=definition+of+Lighting

Lighting is an effect which makes a massive difference in games. It makes an object light and not dark, it also makes an object look realistic and standout.

AA – Anti-Aliasing

Definition of: anti-aliasing. Smoothing the jagged appearance of diagonal lines in a bitmapped image. The pixels that surround the edges of the line are changed to varying shades of grey or colour in order to blend the sharp edge into the background.http://www.pcmag.com/encyclopedia/term/37810/anti-aliasing

Anti- Aliasing is a programme which, smoothens the edges of objects and images in game. This will make them look more realistic.

This Image is relevant to the word “Anti-Aliasing” because it shows 3 different images, 2 off these images use AA and 1 of these images does not use AA. You can tell the difference between each image because the images with AA are smoother and crisper.

LOD describes technology that is used to save memory and processing power by using lower detail models or textures for objects in the distancehttps://www.google.co.uk/#q=definition+of++LoD+%E2%80%93+Level+of+Detail

Level Of Detail means how much LOD goes in to textures and models, the higher the LOD is, the better the textures look however, it can sometimes make the game run slow or the fps could drop. Also the lower the detail the worst the game look but it might run a little bit better than normal.

This Image is relevant to the word “Level Of Detail” because it shows the amount detail there is in games.<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/8G2sbjJ7c3k" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
