A group of four dynamic young women from diverse ethnic backgrounds who have a shared vision to improve children’s cultural education. spark! is a conceptual business idea developed by us - four MFA Design students as part of Business of Design course at California College of the Arts in San Francisco. Our product idea is for is a technology-equipped tent in which a culturally rich traditional story is narrated through an iPad app. Kids can engage in fun interactive hands-on activities based on this story inside the tent by themselves or outside the tent with an adult. Each month the kids receive a new country kit in the mail. Parents can choose from one of three subscription models: 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months. The first package includes a setup kit and the country-specific kit. The setup kit includes - an indoor ‘Culture Cave’ tent - a play passport - a world map and - instructions to install the CultureCave iPad app Each month subscribers receive a country-specific kit which includes: -a traditional story - activities designed for that story.
