Wednesday, March 23, 2016 This amazing Scottie has been #caughtgreenhanded recycling her plastic water bottle. Her one simple act makes a huge difference: one non-recycled plastic water bottle takes almost 1,000 years to naturally biodegrade on its own. If incinerated to decompose it faster, then toxic and harmful fumes are released into the environment, air, soil, and water. Not only it is does this one recycled water bottle protect the health of you and I, but it also save tons of energy. Just one recycled plastic water bottle

This amazing Scottie has been #caughtgreenhanded recycling her plastic water bottle. Just one recycled plastic water bottle saves around 1,000-2,000 of gasoline and 3 liters of water. Thank you, Sarah, for your participation in Recyclemania and for making a difference!

Don’t forget to stop by Recyclemania’s table in front of Evans during lunch tomorrow! We will have a recycling bin next to us so make sure to bring some recyclable material, such as paper, plastic, cans, and water bottles.

If you have electronic waste, then you are either welcome to bring that to us or put it in one of the boxes in your residence hall as well as those located in Alston’s, ground floor of Campbell, 1st floor of Buttrick, and the table 1st floor of Bullock. Thank you for helping promote sustainability on-campus, and we look forward to catching you greened handed!

Tomorrow, the Recyclemania Team will be collaborating with ProBo on a Trash for Treat event from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Those who bring recyclable material, such as paper, plastic, batteries, and old electronic equipment will receive free prizes and ice cream from Butter & Cream.

If you are unable to attend, then don’t worry as there are plenty of opportunities to still be involved. The team will also be in Evans during lunch tomorrow if you can only bring your recycled materials then. If you have electronic waste, then you are either welcome to bring that to them during lunch or put it in one of the boxes in your residence hall as well as those located in Alston’s, ground floor of Campbell, 1st floor of Buttrick, and the table 1st floor of Bullock.

Thank you for helping promote sustainability on-campus, and we look forward to catching you greened handed!

Hi Recyclers,

Thank you for participating in CaughtGreenHanded’s Trash for Treat event this afternoon! Together, we saved 1 lightbulb, 9 headphones, 2 speakers, 2 computer/laptop chargers, 3 wall adapters, 2 computer mouses, 1 electric face buffer, 12 usb cord adapters, and 24 batteries from contaminating our air, water, and soil through incineration. This makes a huge impact on health and the environment since the burning of e-waste releases harmful emissions that are linked to pulmonary and cardiovascular disease. Since these emissions are not biodegradable, or persist in the air, water, soil for long periods of time, by recycling electronic products, you are making a difference throughout time and many generations. Please see the attached picture for more information on e-waste.
