Education to CSR Advocacy

My Journey in Brief

• With an experience spanning over 22 years in education sector, I am now committed to CSR advocacy.

• A Ph. D. holder in Environment Science, associate fellow in H.E. from Lancaster University

• An added experience of Harvard Executive Education in CSR brings expertise to my role as CEO, EducompFoundation and to BRICS CCI as Governing Body Member and Convener, Centre for CSR.

• Life exposed me to the real India while I was working as an educator trying to instill social responsibility amongst students.

• Then one thing happened after another and soon I had made a switchover from educator to social worker.

• Education still continues to be my passion and remains at the core while I am doing social work or practicing CSR.

• Starting from primary school teaching in an undeveloped area of Arunachal

• Starting of a new English medium school from scratch in Bangladesh

• Coming back to India and putting a cheating proof examination system

Challenges, Trials and Tribulations

• Working in Khonsa, a place at Burmaboarder with no basic amenities forestablishing a police pre primaryschool in 1994 was a life timeexperience.

• Felt responsible to share myknowledge & experience in Itanagarto provide computer and high schoolsciences to a school which did nothave a facility. Education, health andhygiene were primary issues.

• Gratified to motivate students fromEnvironmental Protection Society tokeep the city clean and greenpromoted the campaign of “Stopplastic” to prevent the city fromsuffocating.

• When you push people to come out of their comfort zones there is a natural resistance to change, which I have faced often.

• Also passionate people are often looked at by some colleagues with suspicion as if they have a hidden agenda.

• My passion for holistic education had often put me in such situations
