Delphi Summer Presentation Evaluation
School Sample –Ethical Analysis Intro
• John Q details the story of an individual moral question while pointing out the hardships that come with certain social classes and healthcare associated with them. Ethical boundaries are hypothetically put into scenarios leaving the audience to question themselves had they been in a similar situation. It can be argued whether what John Q did in this movie was morally right or wrong, but I will explore the psychological mindset behind the character of John Quincy Archibald. I will argue that John Q’s immoral question of justice was the result of the second dimension of power. I will do this by explaining Rawls and his Justice as Fairness. Then point on the flaws as an idealist. In the second part of the essay, a prescriptive analysis, I will explain how John would have acted if he were to follow Immanuel Kant in Kantian Ethics.
