Organization Issues Coming from North America or Europe you’re probably used to everything running on a tight schedule and being well organized. Since China is new at the whole English teaching, sometimes things can be a little chaotic. Things are getting better, and it’s best just to breath and go with the flow.

Students who lie Asking a student why he didn’t do his homework or if he attended class can be very annoying when he lies to you. Remember working in China is dealing with a different culture, sometimes kids are afraid of losing “face.” But luckily everywhere in the world, students will lie to their teachers.

Incompetence among studentsJust like the last slide regarding lying, incompetence is also a global issue. China is still an economically growing nation, and inefficient students are usually taught from the beginning to be an efficient and active learner. Otherwise, they could find themselves falling behind.

Disrespectful studentsTeachers do put a lot of effort in their careers. And for this, they deserve a lot of respect from their students. It can be very aggravating to have a student that disrespects you.

Parent who are over-sensitive about their children
