In this short report I am going to be very honest with you regarding why people

just like you fail online. It is not a pretty subject but it is something you need to

know!

With my advice in this report you can take preventive measures to ensure you

have a greater chance at success.

In this rst article I am going to expose some myths of what you may have heard

on the internet and give you some solutions!

Build it and they will come

If you ever remember the movie “ eld of dreams” there was a famous line in it.

“Build it and they will come.” In fact in the early days of the internet I remember

hearing people say this – just build a website and people will come visit you.

That’s all you need to do!

Put your business online and open your market to the world

There was another thought that was thrown around – create your website and

you open yourself up to the world wide market. Again interesting, however, not

quite true.

You see you can have the best product in the world, the best website every built

but if you don’t advertise it or your site is not geared towards your target

audience you may never gain the success it deserves.

Everyone can make it online

Oh this is such a common one. The belief that there is nothing much to do in

order to make money online! You know it is just a matter of building a site and

that is it!

You have to have a fancy site

This is not true. It all depends on your audience and what their needs are. Let’s

take an example below:

boo.com. I remember it, it was an amazing fashion retailer site that allows you to

see how clothes would look by putting them on virtual dummies – you could mix

and match.

The site was truly ahead of its time in so many ways, however it never took off.

Why? A lot of money was spent on the technical elements of the site, the

marketing of the site and more. However, they failed to look at who their

audience were. At the time (1999) very few people had fast broadband. Many of

us were still using dial up, ah those were the days.

People would try to access the site but would leave as it took too long for them to

see anything. For this, and a few other reasons, the site closed down. It was one

of the first of the dot com companies to fall (if I remember rightly)

You see the key factor above was that the company built a product and a website

that they believed people wanted and would use, when in fact it became obvious

that they had not done their market research as their target market could not

access such a site!

Fast forward to nowSo right now in 2016 how do you build a business online? Well quite simply like

any business. Although of course since many of us are just used to jobs, we might

now know what we need to do:

Decide – decide what you are goo at and see if there is a way to market your skill.

Perhaps you have successfully lost weight and would like to help others. Can you

set up a Blog giving weight loss tips (how you will monetise this will be explained

later)?

Research – next you must do is research what your market want. You’ve decided

that you want to help people lose weight but what information can you provide

that others can’t? I’ll be honest here and tell you that very few sites are

innovative or provide something new! It’s true. What people will like about your

site is how you present the information. Your style, your story and your

personality.

Let’s be honest in order to lose weight you need to eat better, eat less and do

exercise. That’s the big secret. However, what foods would you recommend?

What exercise did you nd the most effective? What roadblocks did you

encounter? The answers to these questions will help you stand out from the

crowd.

Over the next few days I will be taking each of the points above and helping you

understand what you need to do for each point above.

Plan – no matter what your niche is or no matter what you want to do online you

need to have a plan. Without a plan you won’t know what you need to do and

what you have achieved! Within your plan you need to think about:

Why do people fail?

To close the post I want to let you know why people fail – because they don’t plan

and they give up. This is the long and short of it. People fail because they don’t

know what they want to achieve and by when they want to achieve it.

When the going gets tough they give up. Sad but true. Are you going to give up?

In this article I keep with the theme of telling the hard truth - that is the majority

of people never make any money online!

No hype, no bull, just fact. 95% of people reading this Blog post will fail online.

Scary right? We all dream, or in fact get “fooled” by the dream of working online

and making easy money with push button software. Right? I know I certainly did

any ways.

This second article is hard hitting too, I am going to tell you why I think, after

coaching many people, why the majority have failed up to this point,.

We are sold the dream of working in our PJs or making money while we sip

cocktails by the pool or the edge of the beach. Of course in a few short months

we will also move out of our 1 bedroom apartment, leave our beat up car and

move into a 20,000 square foot mansion, with parking for 10 sports cars……

Lol it’s the unfortunate dream that is sold to us. I’m here to set the record

straight….

What’s the reality?

The reality is that for some, a very small, select, hard working few, this is the

reality. They can live a life like this. However the real reality, is that for 95% of

people they will probably spend more money online than they will ever make.

Yup, we hear about making your rst dollar online. So people will make that rst

dollar and then make nothing more.

Why does this happen?

Good question but I think I have some of the answer….

Firstly people get online and have no plan. They have heard there is money to be

made online but don’t know how or what they need to do. So they do a google

search for “make money online” and see a fancy presentation video, with a good

looking guy or gal, promising that this is the “opportunity” they have been

seeking. That they too can change their life around etc etc.

Of course we have all bought into this, jumped in without looking into it and then

failed.

Then there’s the no business idea. Similar to the no plan people are the no

business people. They decide to set up a business online but have no idea what

their business is. They decide to buy 1000 PLRebooks and sell them. But they

have no business plan. They are what I also like to refer to as the car boot sales

people. They simply sell stuff. They don’t actually have a consistent product line.

Of course don’t forget the shiny object crowd. Shhhh I have been there myself.

The SO people are those who start something, then see a new shiny object and

think this is what I need, this will change my life, this is the magic button. And off

they go, distracted, on a different path and ready to be disappointed.

I’ve been there

I have been at every point in the above and more. I have spent thousands on

ideas, products, services, businesses, only to be disappointed. Until I nally

realised one thing. To make money on the internet you need to have a business.

Without a proper business you are nothing.

You need to plan out

what you are selling

who you are selling to

how you will market to these people

how they will find you

how you can continue to make money

Too many people jump right in and don’t know what their product is, who their

market is or anything in between. This just does not work.

You work hard, build a site, build a product and nothing happens. You believe you

are trying your best and using all the strategies you can to build your business

but nothing is working.

You know what, sometimes the harder we push the more difficult it is to succeed.

Sometimes we get so “focused” that we actually lose sight of what is going on

around us. Let’s take an example.

You are building a product, you focus on everything about the product, you write

the sales letter, the articles, etc. But you write them from the wrong perspective,

or they are not geared exactly for your market. You have become so consumed

by your product that you can not see beyond it. You miss an opportunity that

someone offers you.

Or worst still you are trying so hard to write your ebook and you hit a brick wall.

You try and try to write but the thoughts just don’t ow. So you try harder and it

get’s harder. You feel so frustrated that you decide to spend more time writing,

only to find that the words just don’t appear. What happens? This makes you even

more frustrated.

In this article I will continue with the truth if you don't mind! and I’m

going to be honest here, sometimes building a business online can be

hard. That’s a fact. Why? Because a lot of the time you are on your

own, trying to get things to work.

The solution is to take a break. Turn off the computer, get out, change your

mental state. Believe me if you’re not getting the results you want you need to

change your mental state. I have found that turning off the computer and going

for a walk and completely disconnecting is really important. Sometimes when you

walk away from the computer your mind is still working out what you need to

know and then you get an aha moment! Since you are not pushing yourself so

hard your mind has time to think and come up with a solution.

Another thing I have found is that sometimes burning the candle at both ends

does not work either. You work hard every night, get up early every morning. It

appears you are getting great work done. This works for the rst few days but

eventually you will crash. You become over tired, your brain stops functioning

correctly, and then you need days to recover.

Again this has happened to me. Now I try to get to bed at a reasonable time, have

6 hours or more sleep, get up and plan to do one or two activities in the morning.

I find this has really worked.

It is also very important to be realistic. Don’t set yourself out a goal of creating

1 0 Blog posts every day, if in reality, 2 is the maximum you could do given the

time that you have.

It’s much more satisfying to create two good Blog posts, then have 4 badly

written posts and then feel bad as you missed your target of 10.

If you are trying to build a business online my recommendations are take it one

step at a time, plan out your day and be realistic.

Building a business online takes time, but it can be achieved!
