Mmmm Cereal

Cereal is not only the perfect breakfast food, it can also be a healthy snack to be eaten at anytime. I like to eat a bowl before bed.

In one-half cup (0.5) of Kellogg’s brand Bran Flakes there is only 80 calories, 1 gram of fat, 23 grams of carbs, 4 grams of protein, and most importantly 10 whole grams of fiber.

Fiber is a complex carbohydrate, and it gives a person a feeling of fullness without being packed with calories. Fiber also helps decrease the risk of cardiovascular disease and cancer. Insoluble fiber is found in cereal and this helps with easier waste excretion and protects the walls of your intestinal tract from carcinogens.
