Logo and Organisational chart analysis

• Different colours show the different sub groups

• Puzzle pieces represent the sub groups coming together

• Decided we should have a team leader in each sub group- made decision it making easier to keep track of progress.

• Preventing arguments within the team and fair allocation of tasks

Report planning As a sub-group we went to the library to research topics that could be

included in our report. Then at our planned meetings… Next, we drafted a plan and divided up the word count between the three

of us

Training exercise planning

Deciding on what exercises to do had to be simple to set up, suitable for groups and take around 5 to 10 minutes to complete

Team meetings

Settled upon a plastic cup maze, blind drawing challenge and a quiz.

Materials were cheap and easy to get hold of.

Guest Speaker planning•Booking rooms and parking

•Deliverables•Frequent meetings and communication with the log

We set targets and dates to be completed by the group.•Allocated tasks to members of the group•Find and contact speaker

•All compulsory paperwork was completed

•We discussed ideas which we believed everyone in the group would enjoy.•We chose mini golf and a meal because it was FUN, CREATIVE and involved concentration from group members.

•we thought that a meal gave group members a chance to get to know each other on a more personal level.

Events

SOCIAL: 29th October -ASK Italian lunch, 12pm followed by rescheduled mini golf at 12pm 15th November

CHARITY: 30thOctober- beach clean up, split into smaller groups, throughout the morning  picked up litter from beach huts to pier

GUEST SPEAKER: 9th November- subway director Gabriel Moreno, speech about journey, tips on how to be competitive in the business world.

TRAINING EXERCISE: 5th November-variety of team building activities inc quiz and cup thing

Page 8: UNITE presentation

Feedback SOCIAL: Weather wasn't suitable for golf on meal day therefore we had to reschedule the golf and go for a

meal as Ask Italian. Experienced difficulties trying to get everyone together at a given time. Trying to find a suitable day and time to do both activities that everyone could attend, due to

different sports and work commitments for each event. So for some of the events we had to choose a day where everyone could attend.

REPORT: The main challenges we faced were finding agreeable times to meet up and discuss, in full, how far

each of us had come with our part of the report.

GUEST SPEAKER: Last minute changes affected booking of room and parking Communication with speaker could have been more regular and consistent Lack of notice to team for last minute changes

Page 9: UNITE presentation

CHARITY: Actual idea for the Event was a litter pic on the beach problems included Forms to abide the council's conditions Weather Time frame Dangerous

TRAINING EXERCISE: Time consuming discussing how each activity could be enjoyable but also beneficial Ensure that all materials are ready before the day of exercise so that preperation is of a high

standard.

General feedback Planning difficult- trying to meet up, arrangements to suit everyone (of times, days etc.) Time management with other deadlines and exams

Page 10: UNITE presentation

What went well We created an informative report which covered the necessary requirements. We each took responsibility for our own roles and each group member

delivered. Characters were able to show in a more relaxed environment which has

brought the group closer together. Communication through whatsapp messenger worked well Strong teamwork ethic Knowledge and skills as we did a detailed risk assessment we could plan for things coming together as a team If things didn’t go so well, changing approach to make success rather than

giving up.

Page 11: UNITE presentation

What we’ve learnt“It’s about being a team player not just qualifications” “15% technical

knowledge, 85% positive attitude” Not to leave things last minute How to portray yourself in CV’s and at interviews Applying research to situations in appropriate ways (risk assessment, stakeholder analysis etc) The importance of planning (plan B for if mini golf got rained off, avoiding danger in charity event

using risk assessment) Writing in report form Planning Skills Time management Self Management Teamwork and Communication- (GENERAL) Communication is key to organisation Using tools such as gantt chart, publisher

Page 12: UNITE presentation

Closing summaryDid we achieve the objective?

Which management competencies have we learnt and how did we implement them?
