A novel strategy to make a cell based assay is required. The resulting assayshould allow the amino acid deprivation response (AAR) to be quantifiablymeasured in a high throughput screening program for modulators of the pathway.

This Challenge requires only a written proposal.

Challenge OverviewThe amino acid deprivation response (AAR) is a stress response common to all cell types andaffects many cellular pathways. AAR is an adaptive response and its consequence in tumors isdown-regulation of immune responses that target tumor cells. This can adversely affectantitumor therapies and, ultimately, patient prognosis.

A viable and novel assay is required that will enable cell based screening of compounds thatprevent or reduce AAR. The cell types, the molecular markers to be detected and appropriatelabeling and detection mechanisms should be included in the proposal.

This is an Ideation Challenge, which has the following unique features:

There is a guaranteed award. The awards will be paid to the best submission(s) assolely determined by the Seeker. The total payout will be $10,000, with at least one awardbeing no smaller than $5,000 and no award being smaller than $1,000.

The Solvers are not required to transfer exclusive intellectual property rights to theSeeker. Rather, by submitting a proposal, the Solvers grants to the Seeker a royalty-free, perpetual, and non-exclusive license to use any information included in thisproposal.

After the Challenge deadline, the Seeker will complete the review process and make a decisionwith regards to the Winning Solution(s).All Solvers that submitted a proposal will be notified onthe status of their submissions; however, no detailed evaluation of individual submissionswill be provided.

Solvers should not reveal any confidential information in their submissions. Often the Ideation™ Challenge will befollowed by one or more of the other three Challenge types to further develop the ideas and gain Intellectual Propertyprotection when the concept has been well-defined.
