of leadership functions with competence.

Key Component of Integrated Leadership Effectiveness Model is leadership skill and competencies.

Effective Leadership

Attitude and behaviour of followers have been significantly influenced.

As a consequence of that influence, the group isenable to achieve goals that otherwise would nothave been capable of achievement.

Organization needs competent leaders in order to perform difficult task to a high standard.

Competencies can be defined as capabilities that many corporate use to describe expected behaviour in leaders. The idle is establish “pure competencies”- those that are primarily skill based and talent based.

Leadership Skills Robert Katz (1974) suggested that managers

need three basic skills to be successful.

1. Technical/analytic skill

Mastering Job, Problem solving and decision making, Performance Monitoring etc.

2. Relational Skills

Communication, Team Development, Motivation, Conflict resolution.

3. Strategic Skills

Strategic implementation and Management

Leadership Talents

Talents are inborn abilities and cannot be learned or coached like skills.

Talent can be classified into three categories

It explains why a person behaves.

How he weights up alternatives and comes his decision.

It explains whom to trust, whom to build relation etc.
