The StorylineI have decided to make a wedding film based around one woman,

Emma Littlewood, she has everything planned for her perfect wedding, she has the dress, the bridesmaids, the ring, the wedding

car and the invitations. Just one thing is missing. The man. She franticly begins to hunt for him- by going speed dating, using

online dating and she even placed an ad in the paper, this lands her in many different and hilarious situations...

Inspirations...I have found myself inspired by two wedding films that I want to look into more thoroughly. These are 27 Dresses

and My Big Fat Greek Wedding.27 Dresses

The 27 Dresses trailer is a sequence of clips from the film- like most trailers are- but rather than telling us the storyline in the trailer they describe Jane's life to us, this is something I would like to do in my trailer. I like the way they introduce her in a action shot. I think it is affective how they have the voice over man telling us about Jane but the dialogue from the actual film shows us what happens to her in the story.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding The trailer for My Big Fat Greek Wedding shows

another sequence of clips but this time show the clips in more of an order than in 27 dresses.

I do like the way they added a lot of the comedy elements to the trailer but preferred the style of the

other one.

Inspirations- British Charlotte Balbier

http://www.charlottebalbier.com/Charlotte Balbier has been a big inspiration for the mise-en-scene of my film. As her

website, along with her advertising campaigns all have a similar feel to how I imagine my film to.

As you can see from the website it is quiet traditionally styled, I would like the shots needed in a wedding shop to have a similar mise-en-scene.

Inspirations- British

This is the place where I wish to shoot my wedding shop scenes, it is a light and airy and has a relaxed feel about it, its is styled as a traditional British wedding shop. As my characters will be British I want to show the British

Wedding Culture.

The Target Audience

My target audience will be women, between the ages of 12 (the rating) plus. But also after watching many different trailers I understand that you need appeal to more than one

audience, for example this trailer of Gladiator;http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvTT29cavKo

Has scenes that appeal to their target audience such as the fight scenes, but they are also reaching for different audiences by showing more romantic scenes, but these were only for

split seconds. I will include a scene like this in my trailer. But instead I will use a car, to attract another audience. As my film will be a comedy viewers other than women will be

interested in watching it anyway.

How I will appeal to them...

I would like to find ways to appeal to my target audience I did some research into what people want from a romantic comedy,

“Romantic comedy films are movies with light-hearted, humorous plot lines, centered on romantic ideals such as a true love able to surmount

most obstacles.”So to make sure my trailer portrays the humor of the film I will have

clips of the “funniest” parts of the film. For example when Emma turns to internet dating she starts to talk to a man who she thinks is 35 who

in reality is a bunch of teenage boys...I will also have to ensure my character is portrayed as I wish her to be, powerful but fun-loving, because I feel that in order for the audience to enjoy the film they have to like the character so in the trailer I wish to

show her characteristics.

CharactersEmma Littlewood

Emma is an influential business woman, she is the PA of Evie Hamilton, an editor of Vouge. Although we never need Evie in the film we will hear her on the phone. Money is no object and she wants her wedding day to be the best day of her life. Although Emma is acting quiet childish and some would think irresponsible through planning her wedding before finding her man I don't want to show her like this as I want the audience to like her.

Magazine CoverI have always had a vision about how I want my magazine to look, not like a

typical film magazine with shots from the film but more like a wedding magazine.

PosterWhen looking more into detail on wedding

magazines I found this magazine Although I don't like the style of the magazine it gave me an idea

about how I will make my poster.
