Dr. Atiur Rahman took the helm of the Central Bank of Bangladesh for four year tenure on May 1, 2009 as the 10th Governor of Bangladesh Bank, the country's monetary policy authority, financial sector regulator and supervisor.

He has been a renowned economist in his varied roles as a University Professor, researcher, banker

He served as Project Director / Team Leader on 22 international and 58 national projects related to socio-economic development and participated in 75 international and around 250 national workshops

Dr. Cecep Effendi Director GeneralCIRDAP

Dr. Cecep Effendi has fifteen years experiences both as activist and as academician in the area of decentralisation and democratisation.

Dr. Effendi served as partner of the Asia Foundation in initiating a new reform for local government, programme manager of decentralisation of UNDP and Senior Advisor of the German Technical Cooperation’s Advisory Service Support for Decentralisation in the Ministry of Home Affairs, Republic of Indonesia.

 Dr. Effendi has assumed the position of Director General of CIRDAP from 6 July 2012.

The Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP) is a regional, intergovernmental and autonomous organisation. It was established on 6 July 1979 at the initiative of the countries of the Asia-Pacific region and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations with support from several other UN bodies and donors. The Centre came into being to meet the felt needs of the developing countries at that time as an institution for promoting integrated rural development in the region.

From the original six members, CIRDAP has now grown up as a Centre of 15 member countries. The member-countries are Afghanistan, Bangladesh (Host State), Fiji, India, Indonesia, Iran, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam

Mr. Khan is the President of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), the pioneer and largest Chamber in the country, representing more than 14000 members. 

A self-made Businessman, Mr. Khan started his business career in 1990 with Daffodil Computers Limited (DCL) a public listed company and being acknowledged by various organizations as one of the outstanding Business Leaders of Bangladesh Business World, who made immense and indelible contribution in the field of Computer Education, Human Resource Management and Development towards the nation.

Mr Gibson has been British High Commissioner to Dhaka, since September 2011.

He previously served in Saudi Arabia, UK Rep Brussels, Trinidad and Tobago, OECD Paris and as Deputy High Commissioner Dhaka.

Since that previous posting in Bangladesh he has served as Deputy Ambassador, Baghdad and Head of Post in Karachi. He was appointed CMG by Her Majesty in the 2011 New Year’s Honors' List.

Rokia Afzal Rahman started her career in a commercial bank in 1962 when very few women had entered banks universally. She became the first woman bank manager of the country in 1964.
