Rock That Runway Walk: Top Tips on Runway Modeling
A runway or catwalk is a narrow flat platform that runs into an auditorium or right in the centre of an
outdoor seating area. A runway model walks on this platform to demonstrate clothing and accessories
during a fashion show. Among many jargons used in runway fashion, the term “what’s on the catwalk” is
often referred as a phrase which means or refers to whatever is new to the runway fashion world.
To have an excellent career graph in runway modeling, you must know some basics to rock the catwalk!
1. It’s all in the eyes.
A model’s eye is always focused straight on ahead of you as if she was looking off into the
distance. If you are a new to runway, simply find something on the back wall and focus on it to
make your walk perfect.
2. Chin Angling
Your chin should be angled very carefully. Ideally, the chin should be slightly down while
walking the runway. This is because the audience will be sitting and looking up at you. You
shouldn’t appear as if you are looking at the ceiling.
3. Shoulders should stay still
This part of the body should move much at all. Your shoulders must stay still as you walk the
runway. This may take some time getting used to.
4. Arms and hands
Novel models at the best Texas model management agencies often struggle with the arms and
hands. They tend to swing their arms way too much. However, you arms should only swing as
much as your body natural makes them. Hands are surprising quite an important aspect in runway
modeling.
With these tips in mind, you can never go wrong in your catwalk.
