My design philosophy is straight forward. Landscape Architecture is not
rocket science and is best employed in its purist form. I believe that successful
design is one that responds to the client’s desires within the appropriate
manipulation of the given site. All good design is sustainable by nature and
has always been present in contextual design. Great design must evolve.
My marketable assets include:

Design Experience (1978-1995)
16 year practice in Coastal Resort Community in South Carolina in
positions of leadership and ownership of design firms. Experience in site
design and coastal processes using innovative products and design
techniques. Award winning design for conservation techniques.
Management Experience (1995-2000)
Served as Studio Manger and Director of Landscape Architecture in roles
of quality control and shaping office cultures sharpening leadership skills
in studios specializing in Urban Design and Planning. Serviced several
existing and new clients with responsive, creative design solutions.
Development Experience (2000-2008)
Served as Director of Planning for established real estate development
firm. Cross trained in the interaction of design and development
processes. Directed staff of LA’s and coordinated outsourced design.
Facilitated plans through multi-level agency permitting and approvals.
International Experience (2008-2009)
Served as senior planner with Top 28 US A&E Firm International Studio,
on vision team producing master plans and branding for UAE projects.
Worked within inter-disciplinary design teams and multi-cultural staff
providing on ground planning ad presentation support.
