Certification Cycle & Recertification

© 2013 Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute

• Each product certification is valid for two years under Version 3.0 of the Standard.

• Certificate holders must renew each certification prior to its expiration date to maintain their certified product status.

• As part of the recertification process, certification holders must work with an accredited assessor to submit an updated assessment summary report, which reports their good faith efforts towards continually improving their product across all five program attributes.

Page 42: Overview of the Cradle to Cradle Certified products program

42

In V3.0 Basic is a Provisional Level

• Establish baseline/inventory for each category

• Intended to facilitate getting ‘on the path to continuous improvement’

• Commitment to optimize over time

• Certifying ‘intent’

• Limited to one certification cycle (2 years)

• Cannot use Certification Mark on products (but allowed in print and web materials)
