NFF SOLUTIONSDATA CENTER VIRTUALIZATION

We live in a world where people need access to infor-mation instantly, anytime, anywhere, and on any device. These requirements are imperative for all businesses and organizations. The way to improve the efficiency and availability of IT resources and applications, is through virtualization. You can lower your capital and operational costs and improve operational efficiency and flexibility by going beyond server consolidation and deploy a standard virtualization platform to automate your entire IT infrastructure.

Whether you’re an enterprise, SMB, or Government entity, NFF offers appropriate solutions to help you with server, data center, and desktop virtualization. We offer comprehensive virtualization planning, design and implementation support, to help our customers assess their business needs, develop a strategic technol-ogy road map, migrate, and implement a productive virtualization solution. NFF customers have harnessed the power of virtualization to better manage their IT capacity, provide better service levels, and streamline IT processes.

Stateless Computing and the CloudAs companies pick up on cloud computing, stateless computing is likely to emerge as a core tenant within the cloud and one that can deliver cost savings. Cloud services are delivering agility, flexibility, and cost con-trol for companies across the world. Our professional services for Cloud Transformation are geared towards clients who would like to develop a sound IT strategy to support their evolving business needs and transform their IT department into a business enabler. NFF pro-vides the following types of services:

• IT Services to help clients identify Cloud and Virtual Computing solutions that will enhance their busi-ness services.

• Deployment of private, public, or hybrid architec-tures.

Business Impact of Data Center VirtualizationBusiness continuity is a key objective of any organiza-tion, by virtualizing your servers, you not only realize

tremendous cost savings, you will also have a much better architecture for availability and ongoing mainte-nance. At NFF, we work closely with our customers to provide recommendations that make the most of data center virtualization architectures. Key Benefits are:

• Accelerated IT service delivery, improved operation-al efficiency, ensured compliance, and reduced risk

• Profound savings by increasing energy efficiency and less hardware requirements with server consolida-tion

• Business continuity through improved disaster re-covery solutions and high availability throughout the data center

• Centralized management and provisioning

Virtual Infrastructure A virtual infrastructure lets you share your physical resources of multiple machines across your entire infrastructure. The virtual machine shares the resources of a single physical computer across multiple virtual machines for maximum efficiency. Resources are shared across multiple virtual machines and applications.

An automated datacenter built on a virtualization plat-form lets you respond to market dynamics faster and more efficiently than ever before. NFF utilizes market-leading capabilities from VMware to centralize adminis-trative models, improve scalability, optimize workloads, reduce complexity, reduce power consumption, simplify cable infrastructure, minimize the need for rack space in data centers, and provide built-in redundancy. Cus-tomers report dramatic results when they adopt virtual infrastructure solutions.

NFF SOLUTIONSBenefits of a virtual infrastructure are:

• 60-80% utilization rates for x86 servers (up from 5-15% in non-virtualized PCs)

• Cost savings of more than $3,000 annually for every workload virtualized

• Ability to provision new applications in minutes instead of days or weeks

• 85% improvement in recovery time from unplanned downtime

Virtualization AssessmentNFF’s Virtualization Assessment Services enable cus-tomers to make more efficient use of IT assets that are underutilized, and minimize risks associated with infra-structure changes. Together, NFF and VMware deliver a capacity planning and performance-tuning service to guide you through your IT Consolidation journey. An NFF Virtualization Assessment will:

• Assess your current IT infrastructure• Deliver a plan to optimize IT resources• Minimize risk of infrastructure changes• Develop cost justification for consolidation• Leverage NFF best practices and tools

Virtual Desktop Interface SolutionIf your organization is considering desktop virtualization, or a virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), you’ll need to create the IT environment to support it. Moving applica-tions and user data off the desktop requires enterprise-class infrastructure. It’s important that the infrastruc-ture components – compute, network, and storage be optimized in order to maximize your investment.

With NFF’s VDI Solution you will simplify desktop and application management while increasing security and control, and create a personalized high fidelity experi-ence for end-users. This will enable higher availability and agility of desktop services unmatched by traditional PCs while reducing the cost of desktop ownership up to 50%. End-users can enjoy higher levels of productivity and the freedom to access desktops from more devices and locations while allowing greater IT policy control.

Storage virtualizationStorage virtualization helps the storage administrator perform the tasks of backup, archiving, and recovery more easily, and in less time. Virtualization of storage helps achieve location independence by abstracting the physical location of the data. The virtualization system presents to the user a logical space for data storage and handles the process of mapping it to the actual physical location.

Storage virtualization technology provides a fundamen-tally enhanced way to manage storage resources for your virtual infrastructure, giving your organization the ability to:

• Significantly improve storage resource utilization and flexibility.

• Reduce management overhead and increase appli-cation uptime.

• Leverage and compliment existing storage infra-structure.

NFF SOLUTIONSNETWORK INFRASTRUCTUREThe tremendous IP traffic growth is fueled by new media applications and customer demands for more interactivity, personalization, mobility, and video. A well designed Infrastructure Solution lets you deliver person-alized, next-generation services and media experiences anywhere, anytime.

NFF’s Network Services provide organizations with an in-depth look at how well their network is performing and to identify the obstacles, maximizing network perfor-mance. We identify technologies such as security, mobil-ity, data management, and WAN optimization as founda-tional since all other technologies reside on top of and rely upon them to function reliably and efficiently.

WAN OptimizationExpanding organizations are challenged with two im-portant and competing needs: how to optimize their network response time while adopting new business applications and how to reduce costs at the same time.

NFF partners with Cisco to help businesses build and grow their expanded networks with Cisco® Wide Area Application Services (WAAS), a set of cost-effective WAN optimization solutions that accelerate applications over the WAN, provide local hosting of branch-office IT services, optimize end-user experiences, and reduce bandwidth and latency problems.

Infrastructure ServicesNFF caters to its customers’ network infrastructure by laying out an advanced foundation of routing and switching, which follows industry best practices. The routing and switching infrastructure is key to providing the customer with a robust network, which not only provides redundancy and resiliency, but also provides a foundation for advanced technologies like voice and video on the network.

Wireless SolutionsIn today’s fast paced environment, organizations need anywhere and anytime connectivity. They are deploy-ing Wireless LANs, Guest Access, Location Services, and Wireless Voice to increase employee productivity and efficiency, gain a competitive advantage, and provide employees with a new level of freedom and flexibility.

The NFF Mobility Solutions provide the infrastruc-ture that delivers cost-effective wireless networks for business-critical mobility, delivering the same level of security, scalability, and manageability for wireless ap-plications that organizations expect from their wired infrastructure. NFF’s wireless solutions have built-in enterprise-class security that identifies, prevents, and adapts to security threats.

Data Management – Storage SolutionsMany organizations today, only utilize about 70 percent or less of their existing storage capacity. Much of the storage consists of duplicate files, and often times mul-tiple copies. How do you manage your data through the most optimum and cost effective life cycle? Are you cur-rently using legacy storage technology and are consid-ering storage virtualization solutions? Can you recover your applications when you need to? Are you able to complete your back-ups? Where do you start when you want to optimize your investment in storage?

NFF provides essential services and solutions for your data life cycle management initiatives that include stor-age infrastructure, disaster recovery, and data protec-tion. Our independent mindset means we can match the right technology to your business requirements so you can lower the cost of your infrastructure, confidently protect your data, and reduce backup times.
