Cotton Yarn vs Cotton Thread

A Yarn is a continuous strand of twisted thread, of either natural or synthetic material, which may be wool or nylon. These are used in knitting and weaving purposes.As compared to Yarn, a thread is a tightly twisted strand of multiple plys.

These plys are circular in shape, and a thread consisting them are used in various sewing applications.
A thread is used to sew garments, while a yarn is the combo of fibers that are used to knitted into a fabric form.

Although both these terms are similar, but there is a basic difference between them. A thread can be made of yarn, but a yarn cannot be made from threads.
