ZΔOηO KOþONO (King of Kings Bazodeo Kushan), nandipada  in  right  field,  Rev: lord shiva standing facing, holding trident and wreath, the bull nandi standing behind facing the left side with Bactrian legend at left OηþO (OESHO) and tamgha at left, 8.0g, 21.38mm, (Gobl # variant of 657), about extremely fine+, Rare.Estimate : ` 65,000-75,000Note:- Device looks like double struck on both the sides which is usually tough to appear in Kushan coins and hence it is showing the double impressions of all the legends.

Chandragupta II (380-413 AD), Gold Dinar, Archer Type, Obv: king standing left, holding an arrow in his right hand and holding indian long bow at top in left hand, ’Chandra’ in brahmi below right arm, garudadhvaja to left, brahmi legend around ’Devashri Maharajadhiraja Sri Chandraguptah’, Rev: goddess lakshmi seated facing on a stylized lotus in padmasana, holding lotus blossom and diadem, tamgha to left, brahmi legend at right ’Sri Vikramah’, (Altekar # Bayana, Pl. Stylized bull with complete border on both the sides makes this specimen very appealing.

Zahir-Ud-Din Muhammad Babur was born on Friday the 6th Muharram, & his name was chosen by a spiritual guide, Khwaja Nasir-Ud-Din Ubaid-Ullah Ahrari, the most revered name in Transoxiana during that period. His Cousin Mirza Haidar Dughlat however says that he was named by Maulana Munir Marghinain, one of the Ulemas of Aulugh Beg Mirza.

It is believed that Chaghatai were very rude and uncultured and not refined as they are today, and they found Zahir-Ud-Din Muhammad difficult to pronounce and for this reason gave him the name as “Babur”(Ref: A Numismatic Study by Aman Ur Rahman). The dual denomination 20 francs 8 florins is one of the many varied denominations of gold coin which Austria has produced in its long history. Between 1870 and 1892 Austria produced two different coin types, each of which carried face values in two different monetary systems, this is because these coins were “trade coinage” intended for international use as bullion coins.

All photographs in this catalog are of the actual items offered for sale in this auction but may not be the actual size or to scale. If the bidder feels that the description or condition is not satisfactory to him while viewing an item, he may either avail a high resolution image which will be sent on request, if this not satisfy the bidder, the item may viewed physically. But all these measures are to taken before bidding. No complaints shall be entertained after bidding.

2. Lots are sold as shown with all faults, imperfections and or errors of description. Neither the auctioneer nor the seller is liable for any fault or error of description. All statements as to the items sold, at any point, are statements of opinion only. InsuranceOptional transit insurance is available for the lots only at the cost of 2% on billed invoice.

Payment1. Payment is due immediately upon the close of the auction. Payment is delinquent and in default if not received in full, in good funds, within seven (7) calendar days of the Auction Sale (the “Default Date”), without exception, time being of the essence. Unless otherwise agreed in writing prior to the Auction Sale, all auction sales are payable strictly in immediately through Bank Transfer / Credit Cards (2% Surcharge). Buyers will be charged as all applicable sales tax .

2. In any case if a Winning Bidder fails to pay any amount for the lot(s) he/she has won, Auctioneer reserves all the rights to sell the lot(s) to any other bidders in the Auction that the lot(s) appeared, or relist the lot(s) in a future auction conducted by Auctioneer.

3. A defaulting Bidder agrees to pay for the reasonable costs of resale (including a 12.5% seller’s commission, if consigned to an auction conducted by Auctioneer). The defaulting Bidder’s Membership Fee will be forfeited against the commission & if there is any difference in the amount is liable to it to the Auctioneer. The Defaulting Bidder will be Black-Listed from the Auction House.

Shipping/Handling Charges

Buyer is responsible for shipping and handling charges. Lots won will be shipped within 7 days time after the full payment is received. International Bidders shall provide written shipping instructions, including specified customs declarations, to the Auctioneer for any lots to be delivered outside India. International Buyer have to pay their countries Custom Duty if any applicable. A standard charge of Rs.200 for Domestic &Rs.400 for International shipment will be charged on every lot.
