Every year, SEO specialists, webmasters, and business owners monitor trends

and find ways to keep up with the changes that are happening in the digital

marketing landscape. This year, there is so much in store for them.

Here are some of the latest news, trends, and developments in the world of

SEO.

Google Accelerated Mobile Pages

Earlier in March, Google announced one of their newest updates, the

Accelerated Mobile Pages or AMP. This feature aims to improve the user

experience by increasing the loading speed of pages containing articles by up

to four times. This means readers can access content easily and publishers

can reduce bounce rate. Websites with blog pages, particularly those that are

responsive, can greatly benefit from this update.

Authority Signals on New Pages

Google recently confirmed that authority signals on new pages help the

search engine determine where those pages will rank on SERPs. John Mueller

said Google actually reads the content and understands the context of the

website to get started with the new page in a search. This shows that when it

comes to ranking, it’s about both the individual page and the site overall.

Google's New Webmaster Blog Warning

On a recent Webmaster blog, Google reminded both the bloggers and the

companies that send products to bloggers for review to stay compliant with

Google Webmaster Guidelines. The search giant wants the bloggers to do the

following:

No follow links

Discuss the reason behind writing the review

Ensure that the content is unique and useful

Google Analytics 360 Suite

Google unveiled Google Analytics 360 Suite, a solution designed for enterprise-

level companies. The package includes products that large businesses can use

altogether or individually. It aims to simplify the process of unifying and

syndicating marketing and advertising data across multiple channels. With the

help of their SEO service provider, big companies can better understand how

the suite works.

All of this happened just in the middle of the first quarter. There’s a lot more to

expect, as Google and other big names in the industry continue to innovate and

find better ways to improve online search.
